Choosing your Disneyland Paris hotel: Disney, partners, and shuttles
Where you sleep sets the pace and the budget for your whole Disneyland Paris trip. I’ve actually stayed at several official Disney hotels and partner hotels, so I can tell you what they’re really like beyond the glossy brochures. In this FAQ I’ve gathered all my answers to help you decide: what Extra Magic Time really gives you, how long the walk to the parks takes, how well the free shuttles work, and how to manage your room with the MagicPass. Here’s what you need to know to find the place that fits both your wallet and how tired you’ll be at the end of the day.
01 How much does a Disneyland Paris vacation cost?
The price of a stay varies a lot depending on the hotel you pick. For a 2-day, 1-night stay for 2 adults and 2 kids with park tickets included, expect about €600 at the cheapest official Disney hotel and up to €1,100 at the most upscale one. On top of that, you need to add meals: the amount depends on the type of restaurant, but I recommend budgeting at least €300 for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner over the 2 days. All in all, plan on €900 to €1,400 for this kind of trip. For a single day only, the 1-day 1-park ticket starts at €49 per adult with a Bon Plan ticket: in that case, plan a budget of at least about €400 for a one-day visit for 2 adults and 2 kids, meals included.
02 How many days do you need for a Disneyland Paris vacation?
Two days is the ideal length for a first trip: one day per park, no rushing. With three days or more, you can slow down (ride your favorites again, catch the shows you missed, enjoy the hotel and Disney Village). On a short trip, I recommend day 1 at Disneyland Park (the larger park) and day 2 at Disney Adventure World.
03 How many official Disney hotels are there at Disneyland Paris?
Disneyland Paris has 7 official Disney hotels: the Disneyland Hotel (luxury, princess theme, 0 minutes on foot from the parks), Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel (Marvel theme, a 10-minute walk), the Newport Bay Club (New England theme, a 15-minute walk), the Sequoia Lodge (Disney forest theme, a 15-minute walk), Hotel Cheyenne (Wild West theme, a 20-minute walk), Hotel Santa Fe (Cars/Route 66 theme, a 20-minute walk), and the Davy Crockett Ranch (nature and Junior Woodchucks theme, reachable by car only). Each has its own atmosphere, and when I book, it really comes down to the theme and the budget.
04 Official Disney hotel vs. partner hotel: what’s the difference?
An official Disney hotel is run by Disneyland Paris and comes with exclusive perks: Extra Magic Time in the morning before official opening, free delivery of your store purchases to the hotel, and a fully themed atmosphere. A partner hotel (Explorers, Adagio, B&B, and others) is a privately run hotel near the resort, usually cheaper, but without Extra Magic Time or the Disney theming. For me, staying at a Disney hotel really changes how immersed you feel, but if money is tight, partner hotels are still a decent option.
05 Which Disney hotel is the cheapest?
The cheapest official Disney hotel is the Hotel Santa Fe, themed around Cars and Route 66. It’s the resort’s entry-level hotel, about a 20-minute walk from the parks. If your budget is even tighter, the Davy Crockett Ranch (cabins in the woods, reachable only by car) can work out cheaper for families, but you’ll need a vehicle. For exact prices, which change with the dates, I go straight to the official Disneyland Paris website.
06 Which Disney hotel is closest to the parks?
The Disneyland Hotel is by far the closest: it sits right above the entrance to Disneyland Park, 0 minutes on foot. It’s literally the park’s front gate. Next comes Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, a 10-minute walk away, then the Newport Bay Club and the Sequoia Lodge at 15 minutes. Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe are about 20 minutes away. The Davy Crockett Ranch isn’t within walking distance, so you’ll need a car.
07 Which Disney hotel should you pick with kids?
For a trip with kids, I recommend Hotel Cheyenne: a very immersive Wild West atmosphere (saloon, Western streets, ponies) at an affordable price, and little ones love it. The Newport Bay Club is also an excellent choice thanks to its big pool with areas for children. Sequoia Lodge appeals to families who like Disney’s forest-style setting. Skip Davy Crockett Ranch if you don’t have a car, since getting to the parks from there is more of a hassle.
08 What’s the best Disney hotel for a couple without kids?
For a couple’s getaway, the Disneyland Hotel is still my top pick: a royal atmosphere, a princess theme, polished service, and it’s so close to the parks that heading back to your room is easy. Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel also wins over couples with its chic vibe and contemporary design inspired by Marvel artwork. If you want peace and quiet, Davy Crockett Ranch in the forest lets the two of you really unplug.
09 Which Disney hotel gives you the best value for money?
In my view, Hotel Cheyenne is the best value: an immersive Wild West atmosphere at an affordable price, ideal for families. The Newport Bay Club comes right after, with its big pool and comfortable rooms at a fair price for what you get. It all depends on your priorities (theme, pool, distance), but Cheyenne is still my favorite when you’re keeping an eye on the budget.
10 Which Disney hotel is best for a luxury stay?
By a long way, the Disneyland Hotel is the resort’s top luxury option. Since its full renovation, every floor carries a princess theme, and you’ll find a spa (named Le Spa du Château), gourmet restaurants, and the highly exclusive Castle Club. If you want the very best, Castle Club rooms add breakfast with the princesses, a private lounge, and a dedicated concierge. No other Disney hotel at the resort is rated luxury.
11 What theme does each Disney hotel have?
Each Disney hotel has its own world: the Disneyland Hotel is themed around princesses and royalty, Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel celebrates Marvel superheroes through works of art, Newport Bay Club evokes seafaring New England, Sequoia Lodge takes you into a Bambi-style forest, Hotel Cheyenne recreates a Wild West town complete with a saloon, Hotel Santa Fe draws on Cars and Route 66, and Davy Crockett Ranch offers cabins out in the woods.
12 What’s the best Disney hotel for Marvel fans?
Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel is the hotel for super hero fans. Fully redesigned around Marvel art, it displays over 350 original works (Iron Man, Spider-Man, Avengers, Black Panther). The vibe is more chic and contemporary than you might expect, and it really is as much a Marvel museum as a hotel. It’s a 10-minute walk from the parks, right on the Disney lake.
13 Which Disney hotel is best for princess fans?
The Disneyland Hotel is the place for princesses: its entire makeover centers on Disney heroines, from the wall paintings down to the furniture. If you want to go all in, Castle Club rooms are decorated in 11 distinct royal themes (Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Frozen, Moana, Raya). Castle Club guests also get breakfast with the princesses in the Castle Club Lounge at no extra cost.
14 Which hotel should you choose if you love nature and quiet?
Davy Crockett Ranch is the nature-and-quiet option: bungalows tucked into a forest, away from the parks (you can only get there by car). It has the biggest pool in the resort, with a waterslide and waterfalls, in a rustic setting. Sequoia Lodge is a good middle ground if you want the forest feel without needing a car, a 15-minute walk from the parks.
15 Should you go for an all-inclusive package, or book your hotel, train, and tickets one by one?
In most cases, I find it cheaper to book transportation separately from lodging and tickets. The best approach is often to book the hotel and tickets on the official Disneyland Paris website, then buy your SNCF train tickets on your own. It means two bookings instead of one, but the total usually comes out lower. All-inclusive packages (like Carrefour Voyages) are still worth it for simplicity, with no need to compare.
16 Where can you book a train + hotel + Disney ticket package?
If you want everything bundled together, Carrefour Voyages frequently comes out cheapest and keeps things simple. Choose the train station you’re leaving from, your dates, and your hotel, and the whole package is put together for you.
17 When should you book a Disney hotel to get the best prices?
Book as early as you can: SNCF train fares rise as the departure date approaches, and Disney hotels follow the same logic with dynamic pricing. Avoid French school breaks and busy weekends, and compare several dates (weekdays are often cheaper than Fridays and Sundays). Since prices keep changing, I check the official website regularly to catch any drops.
18 Does Disneyland Paris offer a best price guarantee?
Yes, it’s called the Best Price Guarantee. If you book a Disney Hotel + Tickets package directly with Disneyland Paris and find the same package for less within the following 24 hours, Disney refunds the difference. You have 72 hours after booking to submit your claim. I encourage you to check the official Disneyland Paris website when you book for the exact terms currently in effect.
19 Who’s eligible for Extra Magic Time, and does it require a reservation?
You qualify in three situations: if you’re staying at an official Disney hotel (on your arrival day, throughout your stay, and on your departure day), if you’re staying at Villages Nature Paris with a package that includes it, or if you hold a valid Disneyland Pass Gold. The Bronze One, Bronze Max, and Silver tiers don’t include early entry. There’s nothing to reserve: just show up at the park entrance about an hour before official opening with your MagicPass or your Gold pass. Hotel guests should do their online check-in so they can use it from day one.
20 Which rides are open during Extra Magic Time?
At Disneyland Park (12 attractions): Le Carrousel de Lancelot, Peter Pan’s Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups, Princess Pavilion, Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain, Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, Orbitron, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. At Disney Adventure World (8 attractions): The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets Over Agrabah, Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin, RC Racer, Crush’s Coaster, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Ratatouille : L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy. The list can change from day to day.
21 What time does Extra Magic Time start?
Extra Magic Time usually starts one hour before the parks officially open. As a rough guide for 2026, early entry often runs from about 8:30 to 9:30, with the parks opening to everyone at 9:30. Exact times depend on the season and crowd levels, so I always check that day’s schedule in the Disneyland Paris app the evening before my visit.
22 Is breakfast included at Disney hotels?
It depends on the package you book: some "breakfast included" or "half board" stays include breakfast, while other packages charge extra for it. At the Disneyland Hotel’s Castle Club, though, the royal breakfast with princesses in the private lounge is always included. I always double-check the package when I book so there are no surprises.
23 Can you meet Disney characters right at your hotel?
Yes, several Disney hotels offer character meet and greets, usually in dedicated spots in the lobby. At the Disneyland Hotel, Castle Club rooms include a royal breakfast with Disney princesses in the private lounge. Other hotels host occasional character appearances, and the program changes with the season. I always check the schedule with the concierge as soon as I arrive.
24 Disneyland Hotel Castle Club: what is it?
The Castle Club is the premium room category on the top floor of the Disneyland Hotel, a space set aside for guests who want an exceptional stay. It has only 41 rooms, a private lounge (the Castle Club Lounge), its own front desk, a private elevator, and personalized concierge service. It’s the most upscale experience at the resort.
25 How much does a night at the Castle Club cost?
Castle Club rates start at around €2,300 per night (price checked in 2026), and around €2,450 per night for a park-view room. Prices vary with the season, French school vacations, and the room theme you choose. I check the official website or call the reservation center for the exact price on your date.
26 What’s included at the Castle Club?
A night at the Castle Club includes: a royal breakfast with the princesses in the private lounge, afternoon tea (between 16:00 and 18:00), unlimited drinks all day in the lounge, a private elevator that opens directly onto Disneyland Park, a dedicated front desk for faster check-in, a personalized concierge service, a themed light-up ceiling synced with the room, Clarins and Nougatine Paris toiletries, and an included minibar.
27 Which of the Disney hotels have a pool?
5 of the 7 official Disney hotels have a pool: the Disneyland Hotel (indoor pool only, with a hot tub, steam room, and sauna), Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel (indoor and outdoor), Newport Bay Club (indoor and outdoor, with a large pool), Sequoia Lodge (indoor and outdoor), and Davy Crockett Ranch (indoor, the biggest at the resort, with a waterslide). Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe don’t have a pool.
28 Which Disney hotel pool is the most fun for kids?
For a fun pool, go for a hotel with a waterslide: Sequoia Lodge (Quarry Pool) and Davy Crockett Ranch are the only two that have one. Sequoia Lodge is my top pick for a family getting around on foot. Davy Crockett Ranch has the biggest pool in the resort, with a slide and waterfalls, but you can only get there by car. If you’d rather have large shallow areas for little ones, the Newport Bay Club and Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel are a great fit. Water wings and swim rings are lent free of charge.
29 What are the pool hours at the Disney hotels?
Most pools at the official Disney hotels are open from 7:00 to 22:00, except at the Davy Crockett Ranch, where the pool opens at 9:00. Be sure to check for any annual maintenance closures (in January at some hotels, for example), which are posted at the front desk or can be looked up before your stay.
30 Do you need a reservation to use your Disney hotel’s pool?
No, you don’t need to book anything to use the pool at your Disney hotel. Just show your MagicPass at the pool entrance so staff can confirm you’re staying at the hotel. Lifeguards watch over every pool at the official Disney hotels, but parents still have to supervise their children.
31 Does the Disneyland Hotel have a spa?
Yes. The Disneyland Hotel’s wellness area includes an indoor pool, a hot tub, a steam room, and a sauna, all in an elegant, carefully designed space. For spa treatments (massages, body treatments), ask the hotel concierge directly: they offer a tailored program with a partner brand (Clarins).
32 Which Disneyland Hotel restaurants can you eat at without staying there?
Three Disneyland Hotel restaurants are open to non-guests with a confirmed reservation: Royal Banquet, La Table de Lumière, and La Forêt Secrète. You can book through the Disneyland Paris mobile app or by calling the restaurant reservations line. I recommend booking several weeks ahead, especially on weekends and during special seasons.
33 Can you pay for your vacation in installments, and how much is the deposit?
Yes, as long as it’s a hotel + ticket package booked on disneylandparis.com. A 15% deposit is due at booking, and the remainder can be split into several payments at no extra cost, all settled at least 10 days before you arrive (11 days for phone bookings). Any booking made more than 10 days out qualifies for split payments. Cancel within the free cancellation window and the deposit comes back to you.
34 How do I pay the balance on my Disneyland Paris reservation?
To pay the balance, go to disneylandparis.com, open "My Account," then the "My Bookings" tab. Enter your reservation number and the name of someone on the trip to pull up your booking and pay. The balance is due no later than 10 days before your arrival date (11 days if you booked through the phone reservation center).
35 After booking, where do I find my tickets?
You’ll find your tickets under "My Bookings" in your Disney account, and the link in your confirmation email takes you straight there. Save them on your phone or print them: staff scan the QR code when you enter the park. My tip: load your tickets into the official Disneyland Paris app as well, since that makes the day of your visit even smoother.
36 Do Disney hotel guests get perks at Disney Village?
Yes, staying at a Disney hotel comes with perks at Disney Village. Your purchases can be delivered for free to your Disney hotel (to the hotel store), so you don’t have to carry your bags around all day. A few exceptions apply: the delivery service isn’t available at Center Parcs.
37 Is it possible to reserve just a Disney hotel room, with no park tickets?
Yes, you can. It’s often called a "room-only" booking: a Disney hotel room reserved without tickets to the parks. It comes in handy to extend a stay, or for someone traveling with you who isn’t visiting the parks. You book it by phone through the Disneyland Paris reservation center.
38 What are check-in and check-out times at the Disney hotels?
At most Disney hotels, your room is ready from 15:00 on arrival day (16:00 at the Davy Crockett Ranch and Center Parcs). On departure day, you need to vacate the room by 11:00. If your room isn’t ready yet when you arrive, you can head to the parks: drop your luggage at the hotel’s luggage storage, or leave it in your car if you prefer.
39 Is the MagicPass available in the app?
Yes for the Disney hotels, once you’ve done your online check-in (available 7 days before arrival): the MagicPass then shows up in the Disney app. Watch out, though: not every hotel offers a digital room key. At some of them, you get a physical card at the front desk on arrival day.
40 What is Express Check-out at the Disney hotels?
Express Check-out lets you leave your Disney hotel on departure day without stopping by the front desk. It saves real time: you enjoy your last moments on site instead of waiting in line at the front desk. My tip: if you’re spending one last day in the parks, drop your suitcases at the hotel’s luggage storage before you head out. The exact details are listed on the official Disneyland Paris website and at the front desk.
41 Can you use Extra Magic Time on the first day of your stay?
Yes, you can, starting on day one. To do that, you need to have completed online check-in beforehand and use your MagicPass, which you’ll find in the Disney app.
42 Can I change or cancel my all-inclusive package?
The change and cancellation terms depend on the agency or website you book through. I recommend reading those terms carefully before you confirm your reservation. That way you won’t get any nasty surprises if your plans change.
43 Does a Disney vacation package already include the tourist tax?
In a vacation package booked through Disneyland Paris or an official reseller, the tourist tax is already included in the price, so you have nothing to pay when you arrive. It’s charged per adult, per night, and the amount varies with the hotel’s category. It doesn’t apply to ticket-only purchases with no hotel night.
44 Is there a water park at Disneyland Paris?
No, Disneyland Paris has no dedicated water park with giant slides or a wave pool. The closest thing on site is the pools at the Disney hotels, especially the one at the Sequoia Lodge and above all the one at the Davy Crockett Ranch, the largest in the resort, which has a slide. They’re reserved for hotel guests. The nearest actual water park is Aqua Mundo at Center Parcs Villages Nature Paris, about a quarter of an hour from the park: an indoor, heated area, plus a large outdoor section with a lazy river, lounge chairs, and a view of the lake. To compare the Disney hotel pools, you’ll find all the details in my guide to the hotel pools.
45 Can I track a specific length of stay?
Yes. You pick 1, 2, or 3 nights, or "Any" if you’re flexible on how long you stay. I’ll then only alert you for the length of stay you care about. Staying flexible on this point improves your odds of finding a good price.
46 Can you book a Disneyland Paris vacation in someone else’s name?
Yes. The name on the reservation doesn’t have to match the name on the payment method. You book a Hotel + Tickets package under the names of the people who are going, and you pay for it yourself, in one or several installments. Keep three things in mind. First, if you book 10 days or less before arrival, the front desk may ask to see the card used for payment. Since you won’t be there to show it, book more than 10 days before arrival. Second, only the reservation holder, or the person it has been transferred to, can change or cancel it. You’ll find the details in my article on how to cancel or change a Disneyland Paris vacation. Finally, a minor can’t stay alone at a Disney hotel, so make sure an adult is included in the reservation.
47 Castle Club (or Deluxe) at the Disneyland Hotel: how do you get one of these rooms?
Castle Club rooms usually don’t show up online, so you need to call the Disneyland Paris reservation center directly at +33 1 60 30 60 90. Availability is very limited (Castle Club takes up only the top two floors of the Disneyland Hotel), so I suggest booking several months ahead, especially during French school vacations. Don’t forget about park entry either: the room doesn’t come with a ticket, so you’ll need a valid ticket or pass on top of it.
48 Can you visit the Disneyland Hotel without staying there?
No, not freely anymore since November 1, 2025. Entry is limited to hotel guests and to visitors holding a confirmed reservation for one of the hotel’s services (restaurant, a treatment at the Clarins spa, the Mon Rêve Royal experience, or a seminar). You can no longer just walk into the lobby. To visit, book a meal or a treatment in advance and show your confirmation at the entrance.
49 Are the prices shown the official Disney prices?
Yes. My numbers come from the official Disneyland Paris hotel + ticket packages. I never set a price on my own. All I do is compare them and give you a heads-up once they fall under your budget.
50 Is a park ticket required to enter the Disneyland Hotel or eat at its restaurant?
No. You don’t need a park ticket: what gets you in is your confirmed reservation for a Disneyland Hotel service (restaurant, spa, and so on). You enter straight through the hotel lobby by showing your confirmation email, without going through the park entrance gates.
51 When should you start tracking prices before your trip?
The earlier, the better, often several months before you leave. That’s when the price gaps between dates are easiest to spot, and often when you’ll land the best deal. But good prices also pop up as your departure gets closer. Whether your trip is six months away or three weeks away, the alert is still worth having.
52 Do Disney’s hotel pools have heated water, and do they stay open all year?
Yes, the pools at the Disney hotels are heated. Indoor pools are heated and stay open all year. Outdoor pools, like the one at the Newport Bay Club, only run in the warmer months and close for the winter. Hours differ from hotel to hotel, so I recommend checking before your trip.
53 How do I unsubscribe?
With a single click. Every email I send you has an unsubscribe link at the very bottom. Click it once and you won’t get anything else from me, and your information is then deleted.
54 Is the alert really free?
Yes, it costs nothing, and there’s no catch. You won’t have to set up an account or type in any card details. All I need is your email address and your budget. It’s free when you sign up, and it stays free afterward.
55 Will I get a lot of emails?
No. I only write to you when a package actually drops below the budget you set. Some weeks you won’t get anything, and that’s normal. I’d rather tell you at the right moment than fill up your inbox.
56 Which hotels does it cover?
All the Disney hotels sold as hotel + ticket packages, from the most affordable to the most upscale. By default I keep an eye on all of them, but if you’ve already picked out one or two, you can ask me to track only those.
