What is the tourist tax?
The tourist tax is a local tax. Anyone spending the night in tourist lodging has to pay it, and it’s charged per person, per night.
At Disneyland Paris, it’s based on actual occupancy (the number of people and nights), not a flat rate. The amount depends on the hotel’s category: the higher the star rating, the higher the tax. The hotel collects it and then passes it on to the local authority.
Who sets the tax? (Val d’Europe Agglomération)
Disney doesn’t decide the amount. It’s set by the local authority, in this case Val d’Europe Agglomération, which groups together the towns where the Disney hotels stand (Chessy, Coupvray, Magny-le-Hongre, Serris, Bailly-Romainvilliers). The rates are reviewed every year.
In the Île-de-France region, the amounts are higher than elsewhere in France. On top of the town’s share come extra surcharges: a Seine-et-Marne department share and an additional regional tax tied to public transportation. That’s why the amounts can come as a surprise compared with the standard national rate.
Who has to pay it? (exemptions)
Only adults (18 and over) pay the tourist tax. Anyone under 18 is exempt. So for a family, you only count the adults.
The law also provides for other exemptions: seasonal workers employed in the town, and people given emergency shelter or temporary rehousing. None of these apply to park guests.
What does each Disney hotel charge in tourist tax?
Below is the tax per adult, per night, for each Disney hotel. Kids under 18 aren’t counted. These amounts are current for 2026 and Val d’Europe Agglomération can revise them every year.
| Hotel | Category | Tax / adult / night |
|---|---|---|
| Disneyland Hotel | 5-star | €11.38 |
| Disney Hotel New York The Art of Marvel | 4-star | €8.45 |
| Newport Bay Club | 4-star | €8.45 |
| Sequoia Lodge | 3-star | €5.53 |
| Hotel Cheyenne | 3-star | €5.53 |
| Hotel Santa Fe | 2-star | €3.25 |
| Davy Crockett Ranch | Cabins (unrated) | €2.60 |
Tourist tax per adult, per night at the Disney hotels
Does a Disney package cover the tax?
Yes, in most cases. If you book a vacation package at a Disney hotel, either directly with Disneyland Paris or through an official reseller, the tax is already part of the price you see. There’s nothing extra to pay at check-in.
If you book a room only (without tickets) and pay the hotel directly, the tax may be billed separately, usually at check-out. Check the details on your booking confirmation.

Sample calculation
Picture a family of 2 adults and 2 kids spending 3 nights at the Newport Bay Club (4-star).
Both kids are under 18, so they’re exempt. You only count the two adults:
2 adults x 3 nights x €8.45 = €50.70 for the stay.
If you booked the stay as a Disney package, this amount is already included in the price, so there’s nothing to add at the hotel.
What about partner hotels?
Partner hotels and other lodging near the park charge the tourist tax as well. The amount depends on their rating and the town they’re in. Here too, only adults pay, and under-18s are exempt.
Unlike Disney hotels booked as a package, you usually pay it separately when you arrive. Remember to factor it into your budget if you pick a partner hotel. I break down every expense of a trip in my guide to budgeting your trip.

Frequently asked questions
01 Do kids pay the tourist tax at Disneyland Paris?
No. Anyone under 18 is exempt. The tourist tax applies only to adults (18 and up), even when a child sleeps in a bed in the room.
02 What’s the tourist tax at each Disney hotel?
It’s charged per adult and per night, and the amount varies with the hotel’s category: from €3.25 at the Santa Fe up to €11.38 at Disneyland Hotel. See the table above for every hotel, current for 2026.
03 If I reserve on Booking or Expedia, is the tourist tax still due?
Usually yes, and you pay it separately when you arrive. With partner hotels and bookings made through a third-party site, the tax isn’t always included in the price. Check your booking confirmation.
04 Does a Disney vacation package already include the tourist tax?
In a vacation package booked through Disneyland Paris or an official reseller, the tourist tax is already included in the price, so you have nothing to pay when you arrive. It’s charged per adult, per night, and the amount varies with the hotel’s category. It doesn’t apply to ticket-only purchases with no hotel night.
