Disneyland Paris rides: line-skip passes, wait times, restrictions
Disneyland Paris rides are the core of your plan, and getting through them back to back without battling the crowds takes real strategy. With over 200 days spent in the parks since 2023, I’ve tried every method out there to cut down my wait on the ground. In this FAQ, I’ve gathered my fact-based answers so you can master how the paid line-skip passes work (Disney Premier Access), make smart use of the Single Rider lines, and plan ahead for height or health restrictions for kids. I also explain how to handle temporary closures tied to maintenance schedules. Here’s my method for getting on the best rides without spending your whole day doing it.
01 How many attractions are there in total at Disneyland Paris?
Across its two parks, Disneyland Paris has 50 attractions in all: 37 at Disneyland Park and 13 at Disney Adventure World. In my dedicated article, I list every single one, park by park and land by land, so you can plan your day without leaving anything out.
02 Which park has more attractions, Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World?
Without question, Disneyland Park has more attractions. By my count, there are 37 at Disneyland Park compared with 13 at Disney Adventure World. That’s no surprise: the original park opened in 1992 and has been adding to its lineup for over thirty years, whereas Disney Adventure World is still being transformed. If you only have one day and want to squeeze in the most attractions, I’d start with Disneyland Park.
03 What are the lands at Disneyland Park, and how many attractions does each one have?
Disneyland Park is divided into 5 themed lands. Main Street U.S.A. has 5 experiences, including rides in vintage vehicles and the covered arcades. Adventureland brings together 7 attractions, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, La Cabane des Robinson, and Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin. Discoveryland lines up 6 futuristic attractions such as Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Star Tours, and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. Fantasyland is the densest, with 13 attractions devoted to the world of fairy tales, including Sleeping Beauty Castle and La Tanière du Dragon. Frontierland offers 6 Wild West attractions, including Big Thunder Mountain and Phantom Manor.
04 What are the lands at Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) after the transformation?
Disney Adventure World, which replaces the former Walt Disney Studios Park, is now divided into 6 lands. World Premiere Plaza (2 rides) has Tower of Terror, Les Tapis Volants, and the World Premiere hub. Avengers Campus (2 rides) brings together Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. Worlds of Pixar (7 rides) is home to Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, RC Racer, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Cars ROAD TRIP, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin, and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop. World of Frozen (just one ride for now), which opened on March 29, 2026, features Frozen Ever After. Adventure Way (1 ride) is where you’ll find Raiponce Tangled Spin.
05 Which iconic rides shouldn’t you miss at Disneyland Park?
For a first visit to Disneyland Park, there are several rides I highly recommend. Big Thunder Mountain is the most popular in the park, with thrills the whole family can enjoy. Phantom Manor stands apart with its very well-crafted atmosphere. Pirates of the Caribbean is an immersive boat ride that kids and grown-ups both love. Peter Pan’s Flight, short as it is, is an iconic ride in very high demand. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is the park’s big thrill ride. And don’t forget Sleeping Beauty Castle, which rises 50 meters high and remains the symbol of Disneyland Paris.
06 Which rides shouldn’t you miss at Disney Adventure World?
At Disney Adventure World, I have my personal favorites. At 63 meters, Tower of Terror is the tallest ride in all of Disneyland Paris and delivers big thrills. Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is still the fastest ride in the resort. Crush’s Coaster is a cult classic, but it has the longest lines. Ratatouille is an immersive ride you shouldn’t skip. Frozen Ever After, in the new World of Frozen land that opened on March 29, 2026, is the big new addition you have to try. Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure rounds out the list of top picks at Avengers Campus.
07 Which rides at Disneyland Paris feature loops or inversions?
At Disneyland Paris, three rides turn you upside down. In Avengers Campus, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force launches you through inversions on an indoor coaster in total darkness. Over in Discoveryland, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is another indoor launched coaster with inversions, this time with a space theme. As for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, it has one loop, out in the open air. If big thrills are your thing, put these three at the top of your list. You need to be at least 1.20 m tall for the first two and 1.40 m for the third.
08 What are the height requirements for each ride at Disneyland Paris?
Here are the minimum heights for the thrill rides at Disneyland Paris. In Disneyland Park: Autopia at 0.81 m, Star Tours and Big Thunder Mountain at 1.02 m, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain at 1.20 m, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril at 1.40 m. In Disney Adventure World: Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop at 0.81 m, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at 1.02 m, Crush’s Coaster at 1.07 m, and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and RC Racer at 1.20 m. All the other rides have no height requirement, which families with young kids love.
09 Which rides might scare young kids?
Several rides at Disneyland Paris can be a bit much for young kids, even with no height requirement. Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains, in Fantasyland, has dark scenes with the witch that can catch them off guard. Les Voyages de Pinocchio also has some unsettling moments. La Tanière du Dragon, beneath Sleeping Beauty Castle, is home to a very impressive animatronic dragon. Phantom Manor, in Frontierland, leans into its ghostly mood and stays pretty intense for little ones. Pirates of the Caribbean switches between cheerful scenes and darker ones. I recommend watching how your child reacts before you board.
10 How can you avoid long lines for the most popular rides?
To skip long lines at Disneyland Paris, I mix several strategies. First, Single Rider is free and really speeds things up on the rides that offer it, including Crush’s Coaster, Flight Force, Ratatouille, and Spider-Man, as long as you don’t mind boarding apart from your group. Next, Disney Premier Access is a paid service that guarantees you priority entry on the headline rides. If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, Extra Magic Time lets you into the park before official opening, and that’s the best time to ride the popular attractions back to back without waiting. Last, heading to the busiest rides during a parade or a big show empties the lines dramatically.
11 How far ahead does Disneyland Paris announce ride closures?
Disneyland Paris shares its list of ride closures about 2 to 3 months ahead. For major rides, the park lets guests know about planned construction at least two months before it starts. I recommend checking the official calendar (or my dedicated page) a few weeks before your visit, since dates can change. That way you won’t get the nasty surprise of finding out on the spot that your favorite ride is closed for refurbishment.
12 World of Frozen: when did it open, and what is there to do?
World of Frozen opened to the public on March 29, 2026, in Disney Adventure World, after previews for annual passholders on March 15, 18, and 23-25. Across 9,800 m², you’ll find Frozen Ever After, an immersive water dark ride set in the world of Anna and Elsa. Nordic Crowns Tavern serves Nordic cuisine. The show A Celebration in Arendelle takes place by the lake and features an Audio-Animatronics Olaf. You can meet Anna and Elsa at dedicated spots. The land is dominated by a 36-meter snowy mountain and Elsa’s 13-meter ice palace, decorated with over 300 crystals.
13 How can I find out if a ride will be under refurbishment during my vacation?
Disneyland Paris posts the list of rides closed for refurbishment on its official website several weeks ahead of time. Since the parks are open year-round, maintenance crews sometimes work on days the park is open, which leads to temporary closures. My tip: check this calendar (or the one on my blog) before you book, especially if there’s one particular ride you really care about.
14 Are the wait times posted in the park accurate?
Yes, the wait times shown in the app or on the park’s screens are generally accurate. They’re often equal to or slightly longer than the real wait, which helps you plan your day better.
15 Is a Lion King land planned at Disneyland Paris?
The Lion King land is planned for Disney Adventure World. No opening date has been announced yet. Still, the land is in development as part of the ongoing transformation of Disney Adventure World, and you can follow the construction progress in my article dedicated to the land.
16 What about celebrating my own birthday at the park?
That’s not the same thing as the park’s major celebrations. You’ll find all the details in the article on spending your own birthday at the park.
17 Can you sleep in Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris?
No. You can’t book a suite or any room inside the castle, VIPs included. The park’s premium suite is in another building entirely: the Disneyland Hotel, which stands at the park’s entrance. The rumor comes from people confusing it with Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World in Florida, where there actually is a suite.
18 Why is the Disneyland Paris castle Sleeping Beauty’s and not Cinderella’s?
It was a deliberate choice by the park’s designers. Rather than copy a historic European castle, they wanted to dream up a storybook castle. Sleeping Beauty fit that idea, with inspiration drawn from Neuschwanstein, Mont Saint-Michel, the Château d’Ussé, and the illustrations from the 1959 movie.
19 Is there really a dragon under the castle?
Yes. The dragon is in La Tanière du Dragon, a cave beneath the castle, under the Merlin l’Enchanteur shop. It’s a giant animatronic, and Disneyland Paris is the only Disney park to have put a dragon under its castle. You’ll find more on the dedicated La Tanière du Dragon page.
20 Does wind close rides at Disneyland Paris?
Yes. In strong winds, a handful of high outdoor rides may shut down for a while to keep guests safe. Most rides, being indoors or low to the ground, keep running normally.
21 How do Ratatouille’s trackless vehicles work?
Without any rails on the ground, the rat-shaped ride vehicles can turn, reverse, and slide freely around the sets, recreating a real chase. Disney trialed this technology secretly for months in a warehouse in the US before the ride opened. The ride page goes into the exact technique.
22 What’s the height requirement for Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain?
To board Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, riders must be at least 1.20 m tall. That limit was brought down when the ride became its Star Wars version in 2017 and got new rocket trains. All the practical info is on the ride page.
23 What’s the story behind Tower of Terror?
It tells the tale of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, a fictional luxury hotel for movie stars in Hollywood. On October 31, 1939, during a thunderstorm, lightning strikes the building and five people riding an elevator vanish, swept into another dimension. The hotel has stood abandoned ever since.
24 What hidden secrets can you find in Tower of Terror?
Both the line and the library are full of references to episodes of The Twilight Zone. Look for shattered eyeglasses (Time Enough at Last), chalk markings and a young girl’s voice coming from the boiler room (Little Girl Lost), plus envelopes bearing Rod Serling’s name (A World of His Own). The furnishings came from secondhand markets around Europe, and every bit of dust was laid down by hand.
25 Tower of Terror’s little girl: who is she?
She’s Sally Shine, a child movie star and one of the five people who disappeared in 1939. She’s the most recognizable figure in the story: the 2019 Disneyland Paris version puts her front and center in its three new drop sequences.
26 What does W.E.B. stand for?
W.E.B. stands for Worldwide Engineering Brigade. It’s the workshop where Tony Stark brings together the brightest young engineers on the planet, and it’s also the name of the building that houses the Spider-Man ride. The word "web" is a deliberate wink at Spider-Man.
27 What secrets does Avengers Campus hide?
The Spider-Man line, designed as Peter Parker’s workshop, is full of Easter eggs: a Luxo lamp (Pixar’s logo), a "Lucky Dog" pizza box (Hawkeye’s dog), Peter’s bike, identical to the one in the movies, and labels with numbers that point to real comic books. The land also pays tribute to Stan Lee with a plaque dedicated to him. For Hidden Mickeys and secrets across the whole park, check out the Hidden Mickeys and the secrets of Disneyland Paris.
28 What’s the story of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril?
In the 1940s, archaeologist Indiana Jones sets off to find a lost city in the jungle. Instead, he stumbles on a temple forgotten for a thousand years and dedicated to the god Shiva. His crew digs into the hill and lays mine tracks to haul out the treasures, then abandons the site. You board those deserted mine carts and race down through the ruins.
29 What year did Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril open?
The ride opened on July 30, 1993, in Adventureland. It was a first for Disney, becoming the first roller coaster in a Disney park to feature an inversion, in other words a loop.
30 Is it true the ride once ran backward?
Yes. From April 1, 2000, to November 27, 2004, it operated under the name "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril: Backwards!" The trains were turned around and sent out in reverse, with two extra seats per car. It then went back to running in its original direction.
31 Why cobras, and which god is the temple built for?
Shiva, a central deity in Hindu mythology, is the god this temple honors. A pair of cobra statues, depicting the serpent Naga, stand watch over the steps, since that snake is one of Shiva’s symbols. It also winks at Indy’s well-known dread of snakes in the movies.
32 Which secrets and little details are hidden along the line?
The setting is packed with movie references: Indy’s fedora and whip on a scaffold, a crate addressed to Marcus Brody at Barnett College (his fictional university), a Willys Jeep and a vintage truck, Esso jerry cans from the original sponsor, and a statue of Shiva in front of a tent.
33 At what age or height can you use Rider Switch?
Rider Switch isn’t based on age but on your child’s height compared with the ride’s requirement. As soon as your child is too short for a ride’s minimum height, you can use it: one parent stays with the child while the other rides, then you swap without waiting in line again. You’ll find the required heights in the Disneyland Paris height requirements.
34 Why did Disney choose France over Spain?
Spain had the weather on its side, but France won thanks to its central location in Europe, its excellent transportation links (RER, A4 highway, the planned TGV high-speed train), and a huge population base: about 68 million people within a 4-hour drive. The French government also offered very attractive financial terms and highlighted the thousands of jobs the project would create for the region.
35 Who opened Disneyland Paris in 1992?
The opening was celebrated with a big gala evening on April 11, 1992, broadcast worldwide in five languages, with performers such as Cher, Tina Turner, Gloria Estefan, and the Gipsy Kings. On the other hand, no senior French officials attended the ceremony, and President François Mitterrand stayed away.
36 Why did Disneyland Paris get off to a rough start?
The park ran up heavy losses in its first few years and came close to bankruptcy. Attendance fell far short of forecasts (around 25,000 visitors a day in May 1992 instead of the expected 60,000), costs were too high, admission prices were seen as steep, and several choices were a poor fit for European guests. By the summer of 1994, debt had reached about 3 billion dollars. A rescue plan, which brought Prince Al-Walid in as a shareholder, saved the resort, and the renaming to Disneyland Paris followed.
37 How many years did building the park take?
Construction began on August 3, 1988, and lasted about four years, until the park opened in April 1992. At the time, it was billed as one of the biggest construction sites in Europe, employing several thousand workers from all over the continent. Some parts, like the Sequoia Lodge hotel, weren’t finished until 1993.
38 Is the M&M’s Halloween hunt held every year?
It’s an event activity, so there’s no guarantee it will return, and the details may change. It may be back during Halloween. To find out what’s on offer this year, check the Halloween program.
39 Does Phantom Manor, the haunted house, have an age limit?
No, Phantom Manor has no minimum age or height requirement: everyone can ride. It’s a gentle, dark ride with a mysterious mood, but there’s nothing really scary and no big thrills. Little ones who are sensitive to the dark may find it a bit intimidating, so it’s your call.
40 What year did the Ratatouille ride open at Disneyland Paris?
Guests could first ride it on July 10, 2014. Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company at the time, had officially opened it a few days before, on June 21, 2014. Work on it got underway in 2012, under the internal code name Ratatouille: Désastre en Cuisine.
41 Can you visit La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant?
Yes. It’s upstairs in the castle, and you reach it by the stairs or by the elevator at the back of the Merlin l’Enchanteur shop. Inside, you’ll see stained-glass windows and a view over Fantasyland. It follows the castle’s indoor hours.
42 Where can I charge my phone somewhere quiet in the park?
Head to the starry room in Discoveryland, right by Videopolis. Under its star-covered ceiling, this peaceful spot lets you sit down for a while and plug in your devices.
43 How many Disney theme parks exist worldwide?
Disney has 6 resorts with theme parks, adding up to 12 parks in all. California has 2, Florida 4, Tokyo 2, Disneyland Paris 2, Hong Kong 1, and Shanghai 1. A 7th resort is in the works in Abu Dhabi.
44 Which Disney parks exist around the globe?
In California, Disneyland Resort has Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. In Florida, Walt Disney World is home to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Tokyo Disney Resort includes Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Disneyland Paris has Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World. Hong Kong Disneyland has just one park. Shanghai Disney Resort has Shanghai Disneyland.
45 What is A New Dimension of Chills?
That’s the name of the 2019 overhaul of the Paris version. It brought new effects, a remixed soundtrack, and three different drop sequences: the malfunctioning machine, the creatures in the shaft, and the fifth dimension. Depending on your ride, the elevator plays one or another, all built around Sally Shine.
46 What’s the story of the Ratatouille ride?
Remy, the rat who loves to cook, wants to make you a ratatouille. To follow him, you’re shrunk down to rat size, then you scurry through the kitchens and walls of Gusteau’s restaurant, hunted by Chef Skinner. At the end, Remy and Gusteau wave to you while the rat colony digs in. It’s the Pixar movie carried on, seen through a rat’s eyes.
47 Has the Ratatouille ride changed since it opened?
Yes. For ten years, you wore 3D glasses to see the projections in depth. During a major renovation that began in October 2025, Disney replaced every projector, dropped 3D in favor of sharper 2D images, and added a new artist’s studio scene in the line along with new giant sets. The story itself hasn’t changed.
48 What secrets and hidden details does the Ratatouille ride have?
La Place de Rémy hides plenty of nods to the movie. At night, rats doze inside the lampposts. Linguini’s bicycle, Skinner’s Vespa, and Colette’s motorbike are part of the set. Rats and champagne bottles decorate the fountains, and the manhole covers show Remy floating along on Gusteau’s cookbook. Inside Bistrot Chez Rémy, the furniture is built from oversized kitchen objects.
49 What’s the story of Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris?
In the backstory Disney came up with, Tony Stark took over an old industrial facility and turned it into a Campus: an open base where the Avengers discover, train, and recruit the next generation of heroes. As a guest, you play the part of a recruit. At the center of the story is the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.), the team of young engineers Stark brought together, Peter Parker among them.
50 What was there before Avengers Assemble: Flight Force?
Flight Force is a makeover of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster avec Aerosmith, a launched roller coaster that opened in 2002 set to an Aerosmith soundtrack. It closed in 2019, and the ride itself (a Vekoma coaster) was kept and rethemed to the Iron Man universe, with a new preshow, new voices, and, in 2023, projection effects added inside.
51 What versions of Space Mountain has Disneyland Paris had?
Since 1995, Space Mountain has gone through three versions under the same dome. De la Terre à la Lune (1995-2005), inspired by Jules Verne’s novel, launched you toward the Moon with the Baltimore Gun Club. Mission 2 (2005-2017) took you on a journey beyond the galaxy. Since May 7, 2017, the ride has been Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, which drops you into the Battle of Jakku.
52 What was De la Terre à la Lune, the first version?
It was the original 1995 version, inspired directly by Jules Verne’s novel De la Terre à la Lune. The story picked up where the book left off: the Baltimore Gun Club offered everyone a trip to the Moon aboard a rocket train fired from a giant cannon, the Columbiad. The ride featured an asteroid knocking the ship off course and an onboard orchestral score by Steve Bramson.
53 Is Space Mountain scary?
It’s one of the most intense rides at Disneyland Paris. It starts with a launch, runs in the dark, and has three inversions (including one full loop). If fast roller coasters and flipping upside down aren’t your thing, it can be intimidating. For details on what it feels like, see the Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain page.
54 Why is Space Mountain connected to Jules Verne?
Because at Disneyland Paris it sits in Discoveryland, a land devoted to visionaries like Jules Verne. The original version drew on his novel De la Terre à la Lune: the Columbiad cannon replicated by the entrance and the Baltimore Gun Club storyline come straight from it. Even after the theme changes, the decorative cannon stayed.
55 How many parks did the original Euro Disney plan include?
Two from the start: Euro Disneyland (today’s Disneyland Park) and a second park, Disney-MGM Studios Europe. On top of that, the land had been planned to host more parks down the road, with large tracts held in reserve.
56 Why didn’t the second park open as planned?
The project was put on hold as early as mid-1992 because of the resort’s financial troubles. It was revived much later in a heavily scaled-back form: Walt Disney Studios opened on March 16, 2002, with only three of the nine originally planned rides up and running on opening day.
57 How many hotels were there when the resort opened in 1992?
Seven hotels with a total of 5,800 rooms, each one showcasing a region of the US, from the Disneyland Hotel to the Cheyenne, by way of the lakeside Newport Bay.
58 Who designed Festival Disney, now Disney Village?
Architect Frank Gehry. You can spot his work by the oxidized steel towers beneath a canopy of lights. Festival Disney was later renamed Disney Village.
59 What year did Pirates of the Caribbean open at Disneyland Paris?
It opened in 1992, the very day the park was inaugurated, in Adventureland. As one of the original rides at Disneyland Paris, it was already running on day one, years before any of the movies hit theaters.
60 What year did Big Thunder Mountain and Phantom Manor open at Disneyland Paris?
Both rides opened on the park’s opening day, April 12, 1992 (back then, the park was called Euro Disneyland). What makes Big Thunder Mountain special is that it’s the only one of the four Big Thunder Mountains in the world to open on its park’s very first day.
61 Why is the story told backward on the Paris version of the ride?
The Imagineers flipped the order of the scenes compared with the other parks to make the story more chronological: you start with the attack on the Spanish fort, then the looting, and you end with the curse. The two drops serve as turning points. That’s what makes the Paris version the most story-driven of Disney’s Pirates rides.
62 Is the ride based on the movies?
No, it’s the other way around. The first version opened in 1967, while the first movie came out in 2003 and took its inspiration from the ride. In Paris, where it opened in 1992, characters from the franchise like Jack Sparrow and Barbossa weren’t added until 2017.
63 What changed during the 2017 overhaul?
The ride reopened in July 2017 with two state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronics figures, Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa, a reworked auction finale (Jack grabs the treasure map), an exploding armory that sends the boats into the grotto, and a fully remixed soundtrack that weaves in themes from the movies.
64 How many animated figures does the ride have?
In Paris, more than 100 Audio-Animatronics characters bring the ride to life. Some just repeat a single motion, while others mimic a real actor’s performance, such as the pirates crossing swords. And the grotto’s treasure? It holds close to 50,000 coins, each one glued in place by hand.
65 Who is the Phantom in Phantom Manor?
Since the renovation, the official version reveals that the Phantom is Henry Ravenswood, Melanie’s father. Back from the dead, he poisoned his daughter’s suitors one after another to keep her by his side. The mystery about who he was had been kept alive on purpose for years, from the 1992 opening until the renovation.
66 What’s the story of Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris?
Big Thunder Mountain is set on a mountain in the American West loaded with gold and silver and watched over by the Thunderbird, a spirit from Native American legend. In 1853, prospectors hit gold there. Once dynamite violates the rock, though, the Thunderbird wakes up and lets its anger loose. In 1860, an earthquake flattens the mine and the town. Since then, the trains have circled the mountain by themselves, with nobody at the controls. The out-of-control mine train you board is that curse playing out.
67 Do Big Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor, and the Riverboat tell the same story?
Yes. Tony Baxter’s Imagineers deliberately tied all three attractions to one made-up town, Thunder Mesa. Gold dug from the mountain turns Henry Ravenswood into a wealthy man, who then builds both the town and his mansion. When the mountain is desecrated, the Thunderbird stirs, and its anger triggers the 1860 earthquake, which kills the Ravenswood family and seals the town’s fate. As for the Riverboat, it loops around the river so you can take in every one of these spots at once.
68 What are the secrets and hidden details of Thunder Mesa?
Some of the most striking ones: the Latin motto "Non Omnis Moriar" carved at the manor’s entrance ("I shall not wholly die," from Horace), Melanie appearing at a window on the facade holding a candle, the manor visible from both the train and the boat, and the animated scenes on Big Thunder Mountain (the goat, the donkeys, the smoking dynamite). For Hidden Mickeys and secrets across the whole park, see the dedicated articles.
69 Is it worth going to the second park, Disney Adventure World?
Absolutely, and it gets better all the time. Since its makeover, this second park now features Avengers Campus, Worlds of Pixar, the World of Frozen land, and the Adventure Way area. Set aside half a day at minimum, or a whole day, depending on how fast you go and how long the lines are. You’ll need a 2-park ticket to get in.
70 Is the castle open to visitors, and does it cost extra?
Yes. Park admission includes access to the castle at no extra cost. You can head upstairs to La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant (stained glass and tapestries) and go down to see the dragon in La Tanière du Dragon, in the cellar. Try to go during the day: both spaces close before the park does.
71 Is the Ratatouille ride 3D, and how does it work?
You ride in a rat-shaped vehicle that moves without tracks on the floor, so it can spin, back up, and glide to mimic a real chase through Gusteau’s kitchens. Since the renovation that started in October 2025, the ride has dropped 3D glasses in favor of sharper 2D images, so you no longer need glasses.
72 What’s the fastest ride at Disneyland Paris?
The fastest ride at Disneyland Paris is Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, which reaches 92 km/h (57 mph). You’ll find it at Disney Adventure World, in Avengers Campus. It’s an indoor launched roller coaster with inversions, set in the Avengers universe (minimum height 1.20 m). It beats Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain and RC Racer.
73 Is Disney Adventure World a 3rd park?
No. It’s still Disneyland Paris’s 2nd park: the old Walt Disney Studios Park, now reworked and made bigger. The total remains two parks.
74 What’s the new name of Walt Disney Studios Park?
Walt Disney Studios Park is now called Disney Adventure World. The new name was unveiled on March 29, 2026.
75 What year did Avengers Campus open?
Avengers Campus welcomed its first guests on July 20, 2022, when the park was still known as Walt Disney Studios (it’s Disney Adventure World today). Its two major rides, Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, debuted that same day.
76 What year did Tower of Terror open at Disneyland Paris?
Tower of Terror debuted in December 2007 in the resort’s second park (then named Walt Disney Studios). Money problems at the resort had pushed it back by several years. California had already gotten the same ride in 2004. The Paris version was heavily reworked in September 2019.
77 What’s the tallest ride at Disneyland Paris?
The tallest ride at Disneyland Paris is The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, at 55 m. You’ll find it at Disney Adventure World. It takes you on a controlled drop that’s faster than free fall, and it towers over the park’s skyline. Worth noting: Sleeping Beauty Castle rises to about 45 m, making it the tallest building in Disneyland Park, but it isn’t a thrill ride.
78 How long does a ride closure last at Disneyland Paris?
It depends on the kind of work. Routine maintenance takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. A major renovation stretches over several months, often four to six. For long closures, Disney sometimes announces the reopening date late in the game.
79 When did Disneyland Paris open, and under what name?
The park opened on April 12, 1992, as Euro Disney. A big gala evening broadcast around the world had taken place the night before, on April 11. It’s the resort’s first park. The second one opened in 2002.
80 Babies on rides: what height do they need?
Babies have no minimum height: they can ride all the gentle attractions. For thrill rides they’re too small for, use Rider Switch (one parent rides while the other stays with the baby, then you swap without waiting in line again). Beyond that, height requirements vary by ride (often starting at 102 cm, 120 cm, or 140 cm): the details are in the Disneyland Paris height requirements.
81 Are the park’s treasure hunts free?
Yes. The Disneyland Park hunts (Adventureland, Frontierland, and the seasonal hunts) are free and included in your admission ticket. No reservation is needed.
82 Can you go inside the castle, and is it free?
Yes, and there’s no extra charge: park admission gets you into the castle. You can climb up to La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant (stained glass and tapestries) and head down to the dragon in La Tanière du Dragon, in the cellar. The castle’s two shops are on the ground floor. Go during the day: those two spaces close before the park.

85 What is a Hidden Mickey at Disneyland Paris?
It’s a Mickey silhouette that Disney Imagineers deliberately hide in the scenery: one big circle for the head and two small circles for the ears. Don’t miss Frozen Ever After in the new World of Frozen, the two Avengers Campus rides (Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure) and, on the Pixar side, Ratatouille and Crush’s Coaster. For big thrills, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is still a safe bet. Save some time for the Mickey and the Magician and TOGETHER shows too, and for Disney Cascade of Lights after dark. Plan ahead for the World of Frozen line, which has been in high demand since it opened.

If in doubt, ask a Cast Member at the boarding area, who will discreetly check with you.
