At a glance
Disney Sequoia Lodge is a 3-star Disney hotel with 1011 rooms of 22 m² and 14 suites of 55 m², spread between a main building and several wood and stone lodges. It’s a mid-range option that suits families as well as travelers looking for a calm setting.
The architecture takes after the lodges of the great national parks of the American West, with raw materials, a central fireplace in the bar, and rustic furniture. The rooms bring in Disney’s forest stories like Bambi through wall friezes, framed artwork, and illustrated bedspreads. A renovation planned throughout 2026 is set to update the rooms and expand the forest theme by adding Brother Bear and Pocahontas, with the hotel staying open during construction.
What sets this Disney hotel apart is its cozy vibe and its heated indoor and outdoor aquatic area, the only pool near the park with a waterslide, plus a hot tub, a sauna, and a steam room. Sequoia Lodge remains the quietest choice among the Disney hotels with a pool, and it’s aimed at guests who want to recharge after a long day in the parks.
For dining, the hotel has Hunter’s Grill (a 365-seat all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant open mornings and evenings), Beaver Creek Tavern (also used for breakfast), and the Redwood Bar and Lounge with pool tables, foosball, and a lake-view terrace. A half-board meal plan is available, and hotel guests get Extra Magic Time, free luggage storage, a Northwest Passage store, and a free shuttle bus to the parks.
Cozy lodge & fireplace. The Redwood Bar is home to a massive open stone fireplace, perfect for warming up with a cocktail in winter. The hotel is ringed by hundreds of imported sequoias that bring back the feel of American national parks. Golden Forest rooms come with a private check-in desk and an included sweet afternoon snack.
History
Opened on May 27, 1992, shortly after the park’s grand opening, Disney Sequoia Lodge brings to mind the great lodges of America’s national parks. It was designed by Antoine Grumbach, the only non-American architect behind the resort’s hotels.
After a facade renovation done in phases from 2020 to 2022, the hotel launched a large-scale refurbishment in early 2026, with new rooms celebrating Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brave.

Who it’s made for
Pros and cons
The highlights
- Pool with a waterslide and waterfall
- Cozy forest atmosphere, ideal for resting
- Prices sit between the premium and budget Disney hotels
The downsides
- Renovation going on all through 2026 that may affect your stay. Only one dining option on site, a buffet
- Outdoor pool closed in winter
- Soundproofing in the rooms can fall short
My verdict
Sequoia Lodge has a warm, woodsy atmosphere that really works, which makes it the most restful of the hotels around the lake. It’s the ideal place to get away from the buzz of the parks while staying a fifteen-minute walk along the lake.
I’ve stayed there 2 times, most recently in 2025, and I have a soft spot for its enormous central fireplace in winter. One heads-up, though: the hotel is starting a full renovation throughout 2026 that will update the rooms with themes from movies like Pocahontas, and that may cause some disruption. The pool with its waterslide is still a big plus for kids, even if the soundproofing in the rooms could be better.
I’d go for the Golden Forest Club for a cozy stay in the fall or winter. Avoid it during this year’s construction if you need total peace and quiet during the day.

Extra services
To make your trip even more memorable, Sequoia Lodge has a range of add-on services.
You could, say, have flowers or champagne waiting in your room, or ask for gifts from the store, a birthday cake, or a personal note.
These extras are only available once you’ve booked, and you arrange them through the hotel concierge.
Disneyland Paris can change the prices and services, and everything is subject to availability. If you want to see every option, go ahead and download the services catalog.
Map & getting there
You’ll find Sequoia Lodge along the eastern bank of Lake Disney (Lac Buena Vista), right by Disney Village. Walking along the water gets you to the park gates in roughly 15 minutes, and the free shuttle bus from the hotel’s front door takes 8 minutes.

Your questions about this hotel
01 Which hotel should you choose if you love nature and quiet?
Davy Crockett Ranch is the nature-and-quiet option: bungalows tucked into a forest, away from the parks (you can only get there by car). It has the biggest pool in the resort, with a waterslide and waterfalls, in a rustic setting. Sequoia Lodge is a good middle ground if you want the forest feel without needing a car, a 15-minute walk from the parks.
02 Which of the Disney hotels have a pool?
5 of the 7 official Disney hotels have a pool: the Disneyland Hotel (indoor pool only, with a hot tub, steam room, and sauna), Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel (indoor and outdoor), Newport Bay Club (indoor and outdoor, with a large pool), Sequoia Lodge (indoor and outdoor), and Davy Crockett Ranch (indoor, the biggest at the resort, with a waterslide). Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe don’t have a pool.
03 Which Disney hotel gives you the best value for money?
In my view, Hotel Cheyenne is the best value: an immersive Wild West atmosphere at an affordable price, ideal for families. The Newport Bay Club comes right after, with its big pool and comfortable rooms at a fair price for what you get. It all depends on your priorities (theme, pool, distance), but Cheyenne is still my favorite when you’re keeping an eye on the budget.
04 Is breakfast included at Disney hotels?
It depends on the package you book: some "breakfast included" or "half board" stays include breakfast, while other packages charge extra for it. At the Disneyland Hotel’s Castle Club, though, the royal breakfast with princesses in the private lounge is always included. I always double-check the package when I book so there are no surprises.
05 What theme does each Disney hotel have?
Each Disney hotel has its own world: the Disneyland Hotel is themed around princesses and royalty, Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel celebrates Marvel superheroes through works of art, Newport Bay Club evokes seafaring New England, Sequoia Lodge takes you into a Bambi-style forest, Hotel Cheyenne recreates a Wild West town complete with a saloon, Hotel Santa Fe draws on Cars and Route 66, and Davy Crockett Ranch offers cabins out in the woods.
