How I measure wait times
Here’s how I work out these numbers, starting from the wait times Disney posts.
- I’ve been recording the posted wait time every 5 minutes since June 2026.
- This is the wait Disney announces, not the wait you actually experience.
- I only count public park hours.
- A ride that’s closed or broken down is never counted.
- I don’t rank train stations and trains, walk-through attractions, play areas, and the shooting gallery.
- When a ride or a day has too little data, I leave it out of the rankings.
Saving time
The time you can save with Extra Magic Time, Single Rider, and Premier Access, followed by the moment virtual queues reach capacity.
The 2 parks, from September 28 to October 27, 2026

How much time does Single Rider save you?
The Single Rider line and the standby line, compared at the same moment during public opening hours. This figure may not match the one in my Single Rider article.
Going Single Rider shortens your wait by 48% versus standby.
Everything you need to know about Single Rider.
What time does Premier Access stop being sold?
Days when Premier Access One was already off sale more than 1 hr 30 min before closing.
Premier Access was already off sale 1 hr 30 min before closing on 14 days out of 29.

How fast do the meet and greet virtual queues fill up?
Every virtual queue opening I’ve recorded since September 27, 2026, accurate to within 5 minutes.
In 53% of cases, a meet and greet virtual queue is full in 5 minutes or less.

Single Rider, ride by ride
How much shorter the wait gets with Single Rider: first the 3 rides where it helps most, then the 2 where it helps least.
Ratatouille : L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy had the biggest saving with Single Rider.
How I measure time saved
Here’s how I calculate the time saved, starting from the wait times Disney posts.
- I only count public park hours.
- Extra Magic Time: each ride is measured against its waits later in the day.
- Single Rider: I compare the 2 lines at the same moment.
- The numbers in my Single Rider and Extra Magic Time articles may differ.
- A day counts when sales have already ended 1 hr 30 min or more ahead of park closing.
- If the ride keeps stopping after that, the day doesn’t count.
Ride breakdowns
Uptime and breakdowns for each ride. By breakdown, I mean any unplanned stop while the park is open to the public. Disney doesn’t say what caused it.
The 2 parks, from September 28 to October 27, 2026
Breakdowns: what to know
- 97%of opening hours with the rides up and running
- 25 minhow long a breakdown usually lasts
- 56%of breakdowns lasted under 30 minutes

Dumbo the Flying Elephant was the most reliable ride.

How long does a breakdown last?
Every breakdown in the period, sorted by how long it lasted.
Most breakdowns lasted under 30 minutes: 268 out of 479.
Planned closures are in my closure calendar.
How I track breakdowns
Here’s how I count breakdowns, using the status Disney posts every 5 minutes.
- Every 5 minutes, I log where each ride stands.
- I count every unplanned stop while the park is open to the public, even a 5-minute one.
- If a ride opens late in the morning, I only log it as a breakdown once it’s 30 minutes behind.
- A ride listed as closed is never counted as broken down.
- Only days with solid data and no construction count.
- A ride that’s open fewer than 8 days out of 10 isn’t ranked.
Attendance, year by year
Yearly attendance for each park, according to the TEA, plus the average wait month by month, based on my data.
The 2 parks: attendance from 2006 to 2025, wait from July to September 2026

How I measure attendance
Here’s where these numbers come from.
- These are estimates from the TEA (Themed Entertainment Association), the global trade group for the themed entertainment industry.
- Someone who visits the 2 parks on the same day is counted twice.
- I average the posted wait times during public park hours.
- I keep only full months, and only those with solid data.
