Privacy policy
What julieears.com collects (very little), the reasons behind it, how long it’s kept, and how you can exercise your rights.
Last updated:
The short version, in two sentences: julieears.com collects very little data, never sells it to anyone, and doesn’t track you (no tracking cookies at all). Below, in plain English, you’ll find what gets collected, the reasons for it, and how you can exercise your rights.
Who is in charge of your data?
The data controller is Julie Lambert, sole proprietor (Julie Ears) and publisher of this site. If you have any questions about your data, write to contact@julieears.com.
What data, and what for?
- Contact form
- your name, email address, and message, kept for one purpose only, replying to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest (answering your request).
- Newsletter
- just your email address, which serves only to deliver the newsletter you subscribed to. Legal basis: your consent. There’s an unsubscribe link in every issue.
- Audience measurement
- anonymous, cookie-free visit statistics (the Umami tool), hosted on my own server. No consent is needed, since no cookie is set and the data stays anonymous. You’ll find the details on the Cookies page.
- Technical logs
- like any website, the host keeps server logs (IP address, connection times) for security purposes.
No data is ever sold, rented out, or used for targeted advertising. The site never asks you for sensitive data.
How long is it kept?
- Messages sent through the contact form
- kept while I deal with your request, and deleted after 12 months at the latest.
- Newsletter address
- kept until the day you unsubscribe.
- Traffic statistics
- deleted after 14 months at the latest.
- Server logs
- deleted after 12 months at the latest.
Who can see it?
Nobody but me can see your data, apart from the technical companies I work with, which handle it on my behalf:
- o2switch (based in Clermont-Ferrand, France): website hosting.
- PulseHeberg (server located in Paris, France): hosting for the site’s management data and for audience measurement (self-hosted, never passed on to a third party).
- Brevo (Paris, France): sending the newsletter.
- Affiliate platforms (TradeDoubler, for the most part): the booking links on this site go through these platforms before sending you on to the official Disneyland Paris website. An attribution cookie may be set at the moment you click, on their domains and on the destination site’s domain, but never on julieears.com while you’re simply browsing. The sponsored images shown on the site are hosted by the site itself and don’t set any advertising cookies.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you several rights over your data: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability. You can also take back your consent whenever you like (unsubscribing from the newsletter is one way to do it).
To use these rights, email contact@julieears.com. I’ll reply within a month at the latest. If you feel your rights aren’t being respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).

This site sets no tracking cookies. You’ll find the full explanation on the Cookies page.
