What gift to pick based on the date
Below, all four options compared at a glance. Good to know: Disneyland Paris has two parks, and a "1 park" ticket lets the holder pick either one.
| Option | Valid | What’s next | Price guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dated ticket | The day chosen at purchase | Nothing, they just show their ticket on the big day | €75 on average (adult, 1 park) |
| Undated ticket (Billet Liberté) | 1 year, except July 14, October 31, and December 31 | Book their date with their own Disney account | €129 (adult, 1 park) |
| Wonderbox gift box | 27 months from purchase | Book their date on wonderbox-connect.com, not with Disney | about €100 (one day, 1 adult). An extra charge may apply depending on the date. |
| Disney hotel package | The dates of the stay | Nothing, park admission is included | €195 to €1,235 per person per night |
Prices are a guide only: Disney ticket prices change with the date, and box prices with the options chosen.
Keep in mind that validity starts from the purchase date: don’t buy too early if the visit is still a long way off.

Giving a ticket: dated or undated?
You buy the ticket on the official ticket website, with a Disney account. It then lands in your inbox by email.
When you order, enter the name of the person who will go to the park: they may be asked for ID. And for a child under 12, plan on a ticket for the adult going with them too.
I compare every ticket in my ticket comparison.
You know the date
Give a dated ticket, at about €75 per adult (1 park). You can cancel it free of charge up to 3 days before the visit.
Buy it 60 to 90 days out and the Bon Plan ticket falls to €49, with adults and kids paying the same. The catch: no refunds, no changes, no cancellations.
The date is still open
Go with an undated ticket, priced at €129 for adults and €120 for kids (1 park). It can be used for 1 year, with July 14, October 31, and December 31 excluded.
The ticket isn’t refundable. However, the booked date can be canceled until 10:00 on the day itself, so you can pick another one.

Giving a Wonderbox or Smartbox gift box
Wonderbox and Smartbox sell experience gift sets that you can have shipped to your door or emailed. With one of those, the recipient reserves a day through the box company’s site rather than through Disney.
Don’t mix it up with the Disney hotels Christmas gift box or with the gift card you spend on site. And for company gift vouchers or gift cards, see my guide to French vacation vouchers.
| The box | Who it’s for | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| One day for 1 person | 1 adult (12 and older) | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Junior day | 1 child aged 3 to 11kids under 3 get in free, no box needed | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Duo day | 2 people | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Family day | 4 people | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Stay for 2 | 2 people | 1 day in 1 park of your choice, and 1 night in a nearby hotel |
The Disneyland Paris boxes from Wonderbox Connect. Park of your choice: Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World.
Expect to pay about €100 for an adult day and €390 for a family day. The overnight stay for two costs €370 to €640. Prices vary with the box and the options you pick.
The stay boxes never include a Disney hotel, only a hotel near the parks. And a box bought in a store can take up to 24 hours to activate.
Giving a vacation with a Disney hotel
A vacation package bundles the hotel and park admission in a single Hotel + Tickets booking. So there’s no date to book afterward. Plan on €195 to €1,235 per person per night.
You can book in the names of the people traveling and pay yourself. Three things to know:
- Pick the right name Changes and cancellations can only be made by the person whose name is on the booking. Put it under your name and you keep control, or under theirs and they handle it. More in canceling or changing a stay.
- Book more than 10 days before arrival Any closer, and the card used to pay may be requested at check-in, when you won’t be there. Booking early also lets you pay in installments, with a deposit of 15%.
- Minors can’t stay on their own That goes for teenagers too: an adult has to be part of the booking.

Breaking the news: printable invitation or gift voucher
With a dated ticket or a vacation package, you can keep it a surprise until the big day. With an undated ticket or a box, tell them sooner: the person has to book their date, and they need a free day for it.
You can use either of my two free templates: an illustrated invitation for little ones who aren’t reading yet, and a gift voucher for older kids. It takes a minute to type in a first name and a short note, or you can print it blank and write on it.

Frequently asked questions
01 How can I give a Disneyland Paris trip as a gift?
The easiest option is the undated ticket (Billet Liberté in French), which is the one I recommend. On the official ticket website, it’s the only ticket flagged as a great choice for a gift. There’s no date attached, and you have 1 year from purchase to use it. Just three dates are off-limits: July 14, October 31, and December 31. Whoever receives it picks and reserves their visit date in advance, subject to availability. If the day of the visit is already settled, a dated ticket generally costs less. Figure on about €75 per adult, for your choice of one of the two parks. If you’d like something to unwrap, Wonderbox gift boxes are another option. And if you want to give the entire trip, book a hotel + ticket package and put it in the names of the travelers.
02 Is there a Disneyland Paris gift box from Wonderbox or Smartbox?
Wonderbox has them, Smartbox doesn’t (its French site isn’t selling any as I write this). The Wonderbox Disneyland Paris lineup runs from a day for 1 person up to a family day (4 tickets), plus a one-night getaway for two and a Wonderbox card you can load with any amount. Budget roughly €100 for one adult day, roughly €390 for a family, and as much as about €640 for the getaway for two, depending on the box and what it includes. Before buying, keep two things in mind. The getaway’s hotel is never a Disney hotel. And whoever receives the box books their date on wonderbox-connect.com rather than on Disney’s website, possibly with a supplement depending on the day. Boxes stay valid for 27 months, the card for 12 months.
03 Can I print a free Disneyland Paris invitation?
Yes. I’ve made two free templates you can use without signing up. One is a picture-based invitation for kids too young to read, the other a "good for" voucher for older kids. Add the child’s name and a little message, then print it or save it as a PDF, or print it blank and write on it by hand. I never receive the name or the message. Neither template looks like a ticket: no QR code, no barcode, and each one is printed with "this is not an admission ticket". The actual ticket is emailed to the address on the Disney account used for the purchase.
04 Can you change the booked date on an undated ticket?
Yes. You can cancel your reservation until 10:00 (Paris time) on the booked day without losing your ticket. To switch days, cancel and then book a new date: only that new reservation depends on availability.
05 Are Disneyland Paris tickets issued in your name?
Yes, each ticket is issued in a specific name. At the entrance, you may be asked for ID in that same name. Either way, I steer clear of tickets resold between private individuals.
06 How do you get your tickets, and do you need to print them?
Your tickets arrive by email right after purchase, as an e-ticket. On the day, you can show it on your phone (the QR code is all you need) or on paper, whichever you prefer. If you really want a physical ticket, request it by phone from the reservations center (+33 9 69 32 60 61) up to 14 business days before your visit date: shipping costs extra. You can also link your tickets to your account and to the Disneyland Paris app.
07 Can you book a Disneyland Paris vacation in someone else’s name?
Yes. The name on the reservation doesn’t have to match the name on the payment method. You book a Hotel + Tickets package under the names of the people who are going, and you pay for it yourself, in one or several installments. Keep three things in mind. First, if you book 10 days or less before arrival, the front desk may ask to see the card used for payment. Since you won’t be there to show it, book more than 10 days before arrival. Second, only the reservation holder, or the person it has been transferred to, can change or cancel it. You’ll find the details in my article on how to cancel or change a Disneyland Paris vacation. Finally, a minor can’t stay alone at a Disney hotel, so make sure an adult is included in the reservation.
