01 When is the best time to visit Disneyland Paris?
The quietest months are January, March, and September. If crowds bother you, steer clear of July-August, Toussaint (the French fall school break, during Halloween season), the Christmas break, and weekends in May. During the week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday remain the best days, and Saturday is the busiest. On the flip side, the Halloween and Christmas seasons bring extra decorations and shows, at the cost of bigger crowds.
02 Which major seasons and events does Disneyland Paris hold?
Two big seasons shape the year: Halloween (from September 26 to November 1) and Christmas (from November 7 to January 6). On top of those come special days (the park’s anniversary on April 12, Star Wars Day on May 4, July 14) and sometimes festivals.
03 Disney hotel or partner hotel: which one should you pick?
It all depends on your budget and your game plan. Disney hotel: you get Extra Magic Time (entry to the parks up to 1 hour before official opening, on a selection of headline rides), delivery of your purchases to the hotel, the official shuttle service, and a themed atmosphere. Partner hotel (Explorers, Adagio, B&B, and others): prices are often lower, a free shuttle is usually offered but it isn’t an official Disney one, and breakfast isn’t always included in the rate (check when you book). For a first trip, I’d lean toward a Disney hotel. To make the most of your budget, go with a partner hotel.
04 When should I get to Disneyland Paris to skip the wait at the entrance?
At least 30 minutes before official opening, ideally 45 minutes during busy periods. By the time you’re through the security check and then the turnstiles, you’ll be in place at the park gates right at opening. The first 90 minutes of the day are the most valuable: that’s when you can do 3 or 4 major rides in a row without much of a line.
05 How many days do you need for Disneyland Paris?
If you’re selective, a single day covers the main highlights of one park. Two days is the sweet spot for seeing Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World without rushing, spending one day in each. Add more days and things slow down, leaving time to ride your favorites again. For families with kids on their first visit, I suggest 2 nights / 3 days.
