Disneyland Paris rides: Premier Access, queues and restrictions

Disneyland Paris rides are the core of your plans, and getting through them without battling the crowds takes a real strategy. With over 200 days spent in the parks since 2023, I’ve tried every method for cutting queue times on the ground. In this FAQ I’ve gathered my factual answers to help you master the paid queue-skip passes (Disney Premier Access), make smart use of the Single Rider queues and plan ahead for height or health restrictions for kids. I also explain how to deal with temporary closures linked to maintenance schedules. Here’s my method for doing the best rides without spending the whole day on them.

01 How many rides are there in total at Disneyland Paris?

Disneyland Paris has 50 attractions in total, spread across the two parks. You’ll find 37 attractions in Disneyland Park and 13 attractions in Disney Adventure World. I’ve listed every attraction park by park and land by land in my dedicated article, so you can plan your visit without missing a thing.

02 Which park has more rides, Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World?

Disneyland Park clearly has more attractions than Disney Adventure World. I count 37 attractions in Disneyland Park against 13 attractions in Disney Adventure World. That makes sense: the original park opened in 1992 and has grown over more than thirty years, while Disney Adventure World is still in the middle of its transformation. If you’re visiting for a single day and want to fit in as many attractions as possible, I recommend starting with Disneyland Park.

03 What are the lands of Disneyland Park and how many attractions are in each?

Disneyland Park is split into 5 themed lands. Main Street U.S.A. has 5 experiences, including rides in period vehicles and the covered arcades. Adventureland has 7 attractions, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, La Cabane des Robinson and Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin. Discoveryland lines up 6 futuristic attractions such as Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. Fantasyland has the most, with 13 attractions inspired by fairy tales, including Sleeping Beauty Castle and La Tanière du Dragon. Frontierland offers 6 Wild West attractions, including Big Thunder Mountain and Phantom Manor.

04 What are the lands of Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) after the transformation?

Disney Adventure World, which replaces the former Walt Disney Studios Park, is now organised into 6 lands. World Premiere Plaza (2 attractions) is home to Tower of Terror, Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets Over Agrabah and the World Premiere hub. Avengers Campus (2 attractions) brings together Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. Worlds of Pixar (7 attractions) groups Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, RC Racer, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Cars ROAD TRIP, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop. World of Frozen (only one ride for now), which opened on 29 March 2026, is home to Frozen Ever After. Adventure Way (1 attraction) has Raiponce Tangled Spin.

05 Which iconic attractions are not to be missed at Disneyland Park?

For a first visit to Disneyland Park, I strongly recommend a handful of essentials. Big Thunder Mountain is the most popular ride in the park, with thrills the whole family can enjoy. Phantom Manor is still something special, with a really well-crafted atmosphere. Pirates of the Caribbean is an immersive boat ride that kids and grown-ups love. Peter Pan’s Flight, although it’s short, is an iconic ride that is always in demand. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is the park’s big thrill ride. And don’t forget Sleeping Beauty Castle, which rises to 50 metres and remains the symbol of Disneyland Paris.

06 What are the top rides at Disney Adventure World?

At Disney Adventure World, I have my favourite rides. Tower of Terror, at 63 metres, is the tallest ride in the whole of Disneyland Paris and guarantees big thrills. Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is still the fastest ride in the resort. Crush’s Coaster is a cult favourite but has the longest queues. Ratatouille is an immersive ride you shouldn’t miss. Frozen Ever After, in the new World of Frozen land that opened on 29 March 2026, is the big new ride you really must try. Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure completes the list of highlights at Avengers Campus.

07 Which rides have loops or inversions at Disneyland Paris?

Three rides at Disneyland Paris have inversions. Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, in Avengers Campus, is an indoor launched rollercoaster with inversions, all in the dark. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, in Discoveryland, is also an indoor launched rollercoaster with inversions, with a space theme. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril has an outdoor loop. If you love big thrills, these are really the three to try first. The minimum height is 1.20 m for the first two and 1.40 m for the last one.

08 What are the minimum heights for each ride at Disneyland Paris?

Here are the minimum heights for the thrill rides at Disneyland Paris. In Disneyland Park: Autopia 0.81 m, Star Tours and Big Thunder Mountain 1.02 m, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain 1.20 m, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril 1.40 m. In Disney Adventure World: Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop 0.81 m, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 1.02 m, Crush’s Coaster 1.07 m, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and RC Racer 1.20 m. The other rides have no height restrictions, which makes them ideal for families with young children.

09 Which rides might scare young children?

Several rides at Disneyland Paris can frighten young children even without a height restriction. Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains, in Fantasyland, has dark scenes with the witch that can catch them off guard. Les Voyages de Pinocchio also has some unsettling scenes. La Tanière du Dragon, under Sleeping Beauty Castle, is home to a very impressive animatronic dragon. Phantom Manor, in Frontierland, plays on a ghostly atmosphere and is really intense for toddlers. Pirates of the Caribbean switches between cheerful moments and darker scenes. I’d suggest watching how your child reacts before you get on.

10 How can you avoid long queues for the most popular rides?

To avoid long queues at Disneyland Paris, I combine several tactics. First, Single Rider is free and really speeds things up on the rides that offer it, including Crush’s Coaster, Flight Force, Ratatouille and Spider-Man, as long as you’re happy not to ride with your group. Next, Disney Premier Access is a paid service that gives you priority access to the headline rides. If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, Extra Magic Time lets you into the park before official opening, and it’s the best time to ride the popular attractions back to back without queuing. Finally, heading to the most popular rides during a parade or a big show empties the queues considerably.

11 How far in advance does Disneyland Paris announce ride closures?

Disneyland Paris publishes the list of ride closures around 2 to 3 months in advance. For major rides, the park tells visitors about planned construction work at least two months before it starts. I recommend checking the official calendar (or my dedicated page) a few weeks before your visit, as dates can change. That way you avoid the nasty surprise of finding out on the day that your favourite ride is being refurbished.

12 When did World of Frozen open and what can you do there?

World of Frozen opened to the public on 29 March 2026 at Disney Adventure World, after previews for annual pass holders on 15, 18 and 23-25 March. Across 9,800 m², you can enjoy Frozen Ever After, an immersive water dark ride in the world of Anna and Elsa. The Nordic Crowns Tavern restaurant serves Nordic food. The show A Celebration in Arendelle takes place by the lake with an Audio-Animatronics Olaf. You can meet Anna and Elsa at dedicated spots. The land is towered over by a 36-metre snowy mountain and Elsa’s 13-metre ice palace with over 300 crystals.

13 How can I find out if a ride will be closed for refurbishment during my trip?

Disneyland Paris publishes the list of rides closed for refurbishment on its official website, several weeks in advance. Because the parks are open all year round, the maintenance teams sometimes work on days when the parks are open, which leads to temporary closures. My advice: check this calendar (or the one on my blog) before booking, especially if there’s one particular ride you really care about.

14 Are the queue times shown in the park reliable?

Yes, the queue times shown in the app or on the screens around the park are generally reliable. They’re often the same as, or slightly longer than, the real wait, which helps you plan your day better.

15 Is a Lion King land planned at Disneyland Paris?

The Lion King land is planned for Disney Adventure World. For now, no opening date has been announced. The land is, however, in development as part of the ongoing transformation of Disney Adventure World, and you can follow the progress of the works in my article dedicated to the land.

16 How can I celebrate my own birthday at the park?

That’s a different topic from the park’s big celebrations. Everything is covered in the article dedicated to celebrating your own birthday at the park.

17 Can you sleep in Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris?

No. There’s no suite or bookable room inside the castle, not even for VIPs. The park’s prestige suite is in another building, the Disneyland Hotel, at the park entrance. The rumour comes from a mix-up with Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World, in Florida, which really does have a suite.

18 Why is the Disneyland Paris castle Sleeping Beauty’s and not Cinderella’s?

It was a deliberate choice by the park’s creators. Rather than copy a historic European castle, they wanted to invent a storybook castle. Sleeping Beauty fitted that idea, drawing on Neuschwanstein, Mont Saint-Michel, the Château d’Ussé and the artwork of the 1959 film.

19 Is there really a dragon under the castle?

Yes. The dragon lives in La Tanière du Dragon, a cellar under the castle, below the Merlin l’Enchanteur shop. It’s a giant animatronic, and Disneyland Paris is the only Disney park to have put a dragon under its castle. The details are on the dedicated La Tanière du Dragon page.

20 Does wind close rides at Disneyland Paris?

Yes, a few tall outdoor rides can close temporarily in high winds, for safety reasons. The vast majority of rides, indoors or close to the ground, stay open as normal.

21 How do Ratatouille’s trackless vehicles work?

The rat-shaped vehicles move without tracks on the ground, which lets them turn, reverse and glide freely through the sets to mimic a real chase. This technology was tested in secret for months in a warehouse in the US before the opening. The exact technique is explained on the ride’s page.

22 What is the minimum height for Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain?

The minimum height to ride Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is 1.20 m. It was lowered to this level when the ride switched to its Star Wars version in 2017, with the arrival of new rocket trains. You’ll find all the practical details on the ride’s page.

23 What is the story of Tower of Terror?

It’s the story of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, a fictional luxury hotel for film stars in Hollywood. On 31 October 1939, during a storm, lightning strikes the hotel and five people in a lift vanish, swept into another dimension. The hotel has stood abandoned ever since.

24 What secrets are hidden in Tower of Terror?

The queue and the library are packed with nods to episodes of The Twilight Zone: broken glasses (Time Enough at Last), chalk marks and a little girl’s voice in the boiler room (Little Girl Lost), envelopes addressed to Rod Serling (A World of His Own). The furniture comes from European flea markets and the dust is added by hand.

25 Who is the little girl in Tower of Terror?

She’s Sally Shine, a child film star and one of the five people who vanished in 1939. She’s the most recognisable figure in the story: the 2019 Disneyland Paris version puts this little girl at the centre of its three new drop sequences.

26 What does W.E.B. stand for?

W.E.B. stands for Worldwide Engineering Brigade. It’s the workshop that brings together the world’s best young engineers around Tony Stark, and it’s also the name of the building that houses the Spider-Man ride. The word "web" is a deliberate nod to Spider-Man.

27 What secrets does Avengers Campus hide?

The Spider-Man queue, designed as Peter Parker’s workshop, is packed with nods: a Luxo lamp (Pixar’s logo), a "Lucky Dog" pizza box (Hawkeye’s dog), Peter’s bike identical to the one in the films and labels with numbers that refer to real comics. The land also pays tribute to Stan Lee with a plaque dedicated to him. For Hidden Mickeys and secrets across the whole park, see my guides to the Hidden Mickeys and the secrets of Disneyland Paris.

28 What is the story of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril?

In the 1940s, the archaeologist Indiana Jones sets off to find a lost city in the jungle. Instead he discovers a temple forgotten for a thousand years, dedicated to the god Shiva. His team digs into the hill and lays mine tracks to carry the treasures away, then abandons the site. You board these abandoned mine carts and hurtle through the ruins.

29 What year did Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril open?

The ride opened on 30 July 1993, in Adventureland. It was a first in the Disney world, becoming the first rollercoaster in a Disney park with an inversion, in other words a loop.

30 Is it true the ride once ran backwards?

Yes. From 1 April 2000 to 27 November 2004, it ran as "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril: Backwards!". The trains were turned round and sent out in reverse, with two extra seats per car. It then went back to its original direction.

31 Who is the temple dedicated to and why the cobras?

The temple is dedicated to Shiva, one of the great gods of Hindu mythology. Two cobra statues, the Naga serpent, guard the staircase because this snake is a symbol of Shiva. It’s also a nod to Indiana Jones’s fear of snakes, well known from the films.

32 What secrets and hidden details can you spot in the queue?

The scenery is full of references to the films: Indy’s fedora and whip on some scaffolding, a crate addressed to Marcus Brody at Barnett College (his fictional university), a Willys Jeep and a period lorry, Esso jerrycans from the original sponsor and a statue of Shiva in front of a tent.

33 From what age or height can you use the Rider Switch?

The Rider Switch (formerly Baby Switch) doesn’t depend on age but on your child’s height compared with the ride. As soon as they’re too short for a ride’s minimum height, you can use it: one parent stays with them while the other rides, then you swap without queuing again. The height requirements are listed in my guide to the minimum height for each ride.

34 Why did Disney choose France over Spain?

Spain had the weather on its side, but France won thanks to its central position in Europe, its excellent transport links (the RER suburban train, the A4 motorway and a future TGV high-speed rail station) and a huge population nearby: around 68 million people within 4 hours’ drive. The French government also offered very attractive financial terms and highlighted the thousands of jobs created for the area.

35 Who opened Disneyland Paris in 1992?

The opening was celebrated with a big gala evening on 11 April 1992, broadcast worldwide in five languages, with artists such as Cher, Tina Turner, Gloria Estefan and the Gipsy Kings. However, no senior French officials attended the ceremony, and President François Mitterrand was absent.

36 Why were Disneyland Paris’s early years so difficult?

The park made heavy losses from its first years and came close to bankruptcy: attendance was far below forecasts (around 25,000 visitors a day in May 1992 instead of the 60,000 expected), costs were too high, entry prices were seen as steep and several choices were poorly suited to European visitors. The debt reached around 3 billion dollars by summer 1994. A rescue plan, with Prince Al-Walid buying into the company, saved the resort, followed by the change of name to Disneyland Paris.

37 How long did it take to build the park?

Building work started on 3 August 1988 and lasted about four years, until the opening in April 1992. At the time it was billed as one of the biggest building sites in Europe, with several thousand workers from all over the continent. Some parts, such as the Sequoia Lodge hotel, weren’t finished until 1993.

38 Does the Halloween M&M’s hunt come back every year?

It’s a seasonal event activity, so there’s no guarantee it will return and the details can change. It may come back during Halloween. To find out what’s on this year, check the Halloween programme.

39 Is there a minimum age for Phantom Manor, the haunted mansion?

No, Phantom Manor has no minimum age and no minimum height: everyone can ride it. It’s a gentle, dark ride with a mysterious atmosphere, but without anything truly frightening or any big thrills. Very young children who are sensitive to the dark may find it a little scary, so it’s your call.

40 What year did the Ratatouille ride open at Disneyland Paris?

The ride opened to the public on 10 July 2014. It had been inaugurated a few days earlier, on 21 June 2014, by Bob Iger, then CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Construction had started back in 2012 under an internal working name, Ratatouille: Désastre en Cuisine.

41 Can you visit La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant?

Yes. It’s on the first floor of the castle, reached by the stairs or by the lift at the back of the Merlin l’Enchanteur shop. You’ll see stained-glass windows and a view over Fantasyland. It follows the castle’s indoor opening times.

44 What are the different Disney parks around the world?

Disneyland Resort (California): Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Walt Disney World (Florida): Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom. Tokyo Disney Resort: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Disneyland Paris: Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World. Hong Kong Disneyland: just one park. Shanghai Disney Resort: Shanghai Disneyland.

45 What is A New Dimension of Chills?

It’s the name of the 2019 makeover of the Paris version. It added new effects, a remixed soundtrack and three different drop sequences: the broken-down machine, the creatures from the shaft and the fifth dimension. Depending on your ride, the lift plays one or another, all centred on Sally Shine.

46 What is the story of the Ratatouille ride?

Remy, the rat chef, wants to cook you a ratatouille. To follow him, you’re shrunk to the size of a rat, then you flee through the kitchens and walls of Gusteau’s restaurant, chased by Chef Skinner. At the end, Remy and Gusteau wave you off while the rat colony tucks in. It’s the Pixar film carried on, seen through a rat’s eyes.

47 Has the Ratatouille ride changed since it opened?

Yes. For ten years, you wore 3D glasses to watch the projections. During a major refurbishment launched in October 2025, Disney replaced all the projectors, dropped 3D in favour of sharper 2D images and added a new artist’s workshop scene in the queue and new giant sets. The story itself hasn’t changed.

48 What are the secrets and hidden details of the Ratatouille ride?

La Place de Rémy is full of nods: rats sleeping in the street lamps at night, Linguini’s bike, Skinner’s Vespa and Colette’s motorbike in the scenery, rats and champagne bottles in the fountains and Remy sailing on Gusteau’s cookbook on the manhole covers. At Bistrot Chez Rémy, the furniture is made of giant kitchen objects.

49 What is the story of Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris?

In the story Disney came up with, Tony Stark took over an old industrial site and turned it into a Campus: an open base where the Avengers discover, train and recruit the next generation of heroes. As a visitor, you play the role of a recruit. The centrepiece of the story is the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.), the workshop of young engineers set up by Stark, which includes Peter Parker.

50 What was there before Avengers Assemble: Flight Force?

Flight Force is the makeover of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster avec Aerosmith, a launched rollercoaster that opened in 2002 with an Aerosmith soundtrack. It closed in 2019, and the ride (a Vekoma coaster) was kept and re-themed around Iron Man, with a new pre-show, new voices and, in 2023, projection effects added inside.

51 What are the different versions of Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris?

Since 1995, Space Mountain has had three versions under the same dome. De la Terre à la Lune (1995-2005), inspired by Jules Verne’s novel, catapulted you to the Moon with the Baltimore Gun Club. Mission 2 (2005-2017) offered a journey beyond the galaxy. Since 7 May 2017, the ride has been Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, which throws you into the Battle of Jakku.

52 What was De la Terre à la Lune, the first version?

It was the original 1995 version, directly inspired by Jules Verne’s novel De la Terre à la Lune. The story carried on from the book: the Baltimore Gun Club offered everyone a trip to the Moon aboard a rocket train fired from a giant cannon, the Columbiad. The ride featured an asteroid knocking you off course and an on-board orchestral soundtrack by Steve Bramson.

53 Is Space Mountain scary?

It’s one of the most intense rides at Disneyland Paris. It has a launched start, runs in the dark and has three inversions (including a full loop). If fast rollercoasters and going upside down aren’t your thing, it can be daunting. For details on the thrills, see the Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain page.

54 Why is Space Mountain linked to Jules Verne?

Because at Disneyland Paris it stands in Discoveryland, a land dedicated to visionaries like Jules Verne. The original version was inspired by his novel De la Terre à la Lune: the Columbiad cannon reproduced in front of the entrance and the Baltimore Gun Club story come straight from it. Even after the theme changes, the decorative cannon has stayed.

55 How many parks were planned in the original Euro Disney plan?

Two from the start: Euro Disneyland (today’s Disneyland Park) and a second park, the Disney-MGM Studios Europe. The site had also been designed to take more parks in the long run, with large land reserves.

56 Why didn’t the second park open as planned?

The project was frozen from mid-1992 because of the resort’s financial difficulties. It was revived much later, in a heavily scaled-down version: Walt Disney Studios opened on 16 March 2002, with only three of the nine originally planned rides up and running on opening day.

57 How many hotels were there at the opening in 1992?

Seven hotels with 5,800 rooms in total, each representing a region of the US, from the Disneyland Hotel to the Cheyenne and the Newport Bay by the lake.

59 What year did Pirates of the Caribbean open at Disneyland Paris?

The ride opened in 1992, on the park’s opening day, in Adventureland. It’s one of the very first rides at Disneyland Paris and was there from day one, long before the films came out.

60 What year did Big Thunder Mountain and Phantom Manor open at Disneyland Paris?

Both rides opened on the park’s opening day, 12 April 1992 (the park was then called Euro Disneyland). Big Thunder Mountain has the distinction of being the only one of the world’s four Big Thunder mountains to have opened on its park’s very first day.

61 Why does the Paris ride tell its story backwards?

The Imagineers reversed the order of the scenes compared with the other parks to make the story more chronological: you start with the attack on the Spanish fort, then the looting, and end with the curse. The two waterfalls mark the turning points. This makes the Paris version the most story-driven Pirates at Disney.

62 Is the ride based on the films?

No, it’s the other way round. The first version opened in 1967, while the first film came out in 2003 and was inspired by the ride. In Paris, where it opened in 1992, characters from the films such as Jack Sparrow and Barbossa were only added in 2017.

63 What changed in the 2017 makeover?

The ride reopened in July 2017 with two latest-generation Audio-Animatronics figures, Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa, a reworked final auction scene (Jack grabs the treasure map), an arsenal explosion that sends the boats into the grotto and a fully remixed soundtrack featuring themes from the films.

64 How many animated figures does the ride have?

The Paris ride has over 100 Audio-Animatronics characters. Their movements range from a simple repeated gesture to imitating an actor’s performance, like the sword-fighting duellists. As for the treasure in the grotto, it’s made up of nearly 50,000 coins glued on by hand.

65 Who is the Phantom of Phantom Manor?

Since the refurbishment, the official version reveals that the Phantom is Henry Ravenswood, Melanie’s father. Back from the dead, he poisoned his daughter’s suitors one after another to keep her by his side. The mystery over his identity was kept up on purpose for years, from the opening in 1992 until the refurbishment.

66 What is the story of Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris?

Big Thunder Mountain tells the story of a mountain in the American West full of gold and silver, guarded by the Thunderbird, a spirit from Native American folklore. Prospectors strike gold there in 1853, but when dynamite desecrates the rock, the Thunderbird wakes up and unleashes its fury. The earthquake of 1860 destroys the mine and the town. Since then, the locomotives have raced round the mountain on their own, with no driver. The runaway mine train you ride is this curse in action.

67 Do Big Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor and the Riverboat tell the same story?

Yes. All three attractions belong to the fictional town of Thunder Mesa, a deliberate choice by Tony Baxter’s Imagineers. The mountain’s gold makes Henry Ravenswood’s fortune, and he builds the town and the manor. The desecration of the mountain wakes the Thunderbird, whose fury causes the earthquake of 1860 that kills the Ravenswoods and dooms the town. The Riverboat, for its part, sails round the river and lets you see all these places together.

68 What are the secrets and hidden details of Thunder Mesa?

Among the most striking: the Latin motto "Non Omnis Moriar" carved at the entrance to the manor ("I shall not wholly die", from Horace), Melanie appearing at a window on the facade with a candle in her hand, the manor visible both from the train and from the boat, and the animated scenes of Big Thunder Mountain (the goat, the donkeys, the smoking dynamite). For Hidden Mickeys and secrets from across the park, see the dedicated articles.

69 Is the second park, Disney Adventure World, worth visiting?

Yes, and increasingly so. Since its transformation, the second park has been home to Avengers Campus, Worlds of Pixar, the World of Frozen land and the Adventure Way area. Allow at least half a day, or even a full day depending on your pace and the queue times. To get in, you need a 2-park ticket.

70 Can you visit the castle and is it free?

Yes. Your park ticket gets you into the castle at no extra cost. You can go up to La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant upstairs (stained-glass windows and tapestries) and go down to see the dragon in La Tanière du Dragon, in the cellar. Go during the day: both areas close before the park.

71 How does the Ratatouille ride work, and is it in 3D?

You board a rat-shaped vehicle that moves without tracks on the ground, which lets it turn, reverse and glide to mimic a real chase through Gusteau’s kitchens. Since the refurbishment launched in October 2025, the ride has dropped 3D glasses in favour of sharper 2D images, so you no longer need glasses.

72 What is the fastest ride at Disneyland Paris?

The fastest ride at Disneyland Paris is Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, which reaches 92 km/h (57 mph). You’ll find it in Disney Adventure World, in the Avengers Campus land. It’s an indoor launched rollercoaster with inversions, set in the world of the Avengers (minimum height 1.20 m). It beats Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain and RC Racer.

73 Is Disney Adventure World a third park?

No. It’s the second park at Disneyland Paris, the former Walt Disney Studios Park, which has been transformed and expanded. There are still two parks in total.

74 What is the new name of Walt Disney Studios Park?

Walt Disney Studios Park is now called Disney Adventure World. The new name was launched on 29 March 2026.

75 What year did Avengers Campus open?

Avengers Campus opened on 20 July 2022, in the park then called Walt Disney Studios (now Disney Adventure World). Its two big rides, Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, opened on the same day.

76 What year did Tower of Terror open at Disneyland Paris?

The ride opened in December 2007, in the second park (Walt Disney Studios at the time), after several years of delays caused by the resort’s financial difficulties. The same ride had already opened in California in 2004. In Paris, it was given a major overhaul in September 2019.

77 What is the tallest ride at Disneyland Paris?

The tallest ride at Disneyland Paris is The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, at 55 m. You’ll find it in Disney Adventure World. It takes you on a controlled drop, faster than free fall, and dominates the park’s skyline. Worth knowing: Sleeping Beauty Castle rises to around 45 m and is the tallest building in Disneyland Park, but it isn’t a thrill ride.

78 How long does a ride closure last at Disneyland Paris?

It depends on the type of work. Routine maintenance lasts anything from a few days to a few weeks. A major refurbishment runs for several months, often four to six months. For long closures, Disney sometimes announces the reopening date late.

79 What year did Disneyland Paris open and under what name?

The park opened on 12 April 1992, under the name Euro Disney. A big gala evening broadcast worldwide had taken place the day before, on 11 April. It’s the resort’s first park. The second opened in 2002.

80 What height do you need for rides with a baby?

A baby has no minimum height: they can go on all the gentle rides. For thrill rides where they’re too short, use the Rider Switch (formerly Baby Switch): one parent rides while the other looks after the baby, then you swap without queuing again. Height requirements then vary from ride to ride (often from 102 cm, 120 cm or 140 cm): the details are in my guide to the minimum height for each ride.

81 Are the treasure hunts in the park free?

Yes. The Disneyland Park hunts (Adventureland, Frontierland and the seasonal hunts) are free and included in your entry ticket. There’s no need to book.

82 Can you visit inside the castle, and is it free?

Yes, and at no extra cost: your park ticket gets you into the castle. You can go up to La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant upstairs (stained-glass windows and tapestries) and go down to see the dragon in La Tanière du Dragon, in the cellar. The castle’s two shops are on the ground floor. Go during the day: both areas close before the park.

83 How do you take part in the Adventureland hunt?

Head for the entrance to the Adventure Isle caves, next to Pirates of the Caribbean. Scrolls displayed on site give you the list of objects to find as you explore the caverns. There’s nothing to pick up first: you set off searching straight away.

84 How do you take part in the Frontierland hunt?

Ask a Cast Member in Frontierland for the hunt flyer. Spot at least 10 of the 17 nuggets hidden around Thunder Mesa, note them on your flyer, then show it at the till in the Thunder Mesa Mercantile Building shop for your reward.

85 What is a Hidden Mickey at Disneyland Paris?

It’s a Mickey silhouette deliberately hidden in the scenery by Disney’s Imagineers: a large circle for the head, two small circles for the ears. You’ll find them in queues, murals, furniture and even on the ground. Spotting as many Hidden Mickeys as possible is a very popular game, and I share a list in my dedicated article.
