PanoraMagique: the tethered balloon that lets you take in all of Disneyland Paris at once

A helium-filled tethered balloon that rises around a hundred meters above Lake Disney. It’s a paid activity at Disney Village, depending on the weather, with a 360° view of both parks (and the Eiffel Tower on a clear day).

The PanoraMagique tethered balloon, in white and blue, rising into a cloudless sky beside palm trees at Disney Village.

PanoraMagique is the tethered balloon floating above Disney Village. You go up in it to get some height and see all of Disneyland Paris from the sky. Heads-up: this isn’t the small character balloon you buy as a souvenir. Here, you’re riding inside it.

Disney Village itself is free to enter, but the balloon costs extra. It takes its own ticket, separate from your park admission. Hours usually run from morning to evening, with longer hours in peak season. Since they change with the season and the weather, check that day’s schedule on site or in the app before you go.

What is the Disney Village balloon (PanoraMagique)?

This is a tethered balloon filled with helium and anchored by a cable. You’ll find it floating over Lake Disney, in Disney Village, where it has operated since 2005.

Here’s how it works: you board a large gondola, the balloon lifts straight up, you hover for a few minutes, and then it lowers you back to where you started.

What can you see?

From the top, the view opens up all around you, 360°, and reaches roughly 20 km (12 miles) when the weather is clear.

You can see Disney Village, both parks (Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World) and, when the sky is clear, a tiny Eiffel Tower far off on the horizon. It’s your chance to take in all of Disneyland Paris in one glance.

How high does the balloon go, and for how long?

Up it goes, to around a hundred meters over the lake. Plan on a few minutes aloft, and roughly ten minutes from start to finish once you add the climb and the trip back down. Up to 30 passengers fit in the gondola.

Tickets and prices

There are several ticket options. Buying online costs a little less than buying on site. Kids under 3 ride for free.

The Show Flight takes you up during the nighttime show, so you can watch it from the sky. With a private flight, the gondola is booked for your group alone, for a flight of about 10 minutes.

My tips

  • Buy online You’ll pay a little less, and your ticket shows up on your smartphone, so there’s nothing to print.
  • Come early in the morning Mornings are calmer for the flight, and the crowds are smaller.
  • Check the weather before you leave Flights can be canceled when it’s windy.
  • Park in the Disney Village parking garage It’s the closest parking to the balloon, right by the lake.

Frequently asked questions

01 Is a park ticket required to ride PanoraMagique?

No. Anyone can walk into Disney Village for free, and PanoraMagique sells its own tickets. Taking the flight doesn’t require park admission.

02 Do you need to book PanoraMagique ahead of time?

No, there’s no booking. You buy tickets right on the spot, at the foot of the balloon in Disney Village. Since flights depend on the weather (wind above all), the safest bet is to show up and make sure the balloon is flying that day.
