A food allergy, a gluten-free diet, a vegetarian or vegan way of eating: at Disneyland Paris, mealtimes stay simple as long as you know the right steps. Everything rests on one principle I find reassuring: you tell the staff about your situation when you arrive, and they walk you through the options on the spot. Here’s how it works, restaurant by restaurant, so you can plan your trip with peace of mind.
This article goes hand in hand with the accessibility guide, which covers every service available to help you visit stress-free.
Telling staff about your allergy: how it works
In the parks and at the Disney hotels alike, every restaurant follows one rule. Mention your allergy, or allergies, to the staff as you arrive. You’ll then be handed a chart showing which major allergens each menu item contains. Going through it item by item, you can tell right away what you can eat and what to stay away from.
If nothing on the menu works for you, a selection of meals free of major allergens is offered right there. This selection includes gluten-free, and it’s how you eat gluten-free at lunch and dinner. You don’t need to order ahead: there’s nothing to reserve in advance, just ask the restaurant manager.
These meals come from Natama, a specialized company, and are served on compartment trays designed to keep foods from touching. The trays actually go further than the 14 regulated allergens: they leave out 16, adding fenugreek and yellow peas to the European list. They replace your regular meal at the normal price of the meal or buffet, with no surcharge because of the allergy.
One important thing to keep in mind: no custom dish can be made. For safety reasons, the staff can’t change a recipe on request. So your choices are either the compatible dishes on the menu or the selection free of major allergens.
The 14 allergens to know
The chart shown in the restaurants follows the list of main regulated allergens set at the European level (EU regulation 1169/2011). These are the ones you’ll see flagged on the menus:
- Gluten wheat, rye, barley, oats, and products made from them
- Crustaceans and crustacean products
- Eggs and egg products
- Fish and fish products
- Peanuts and peanut products
- Soy and soy products
- Milk lactose included
- Tree nuts almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews…
- Celery and celery products
- Mustard and mustard products
- Sesame seeds and sesame products
- Sulfites and sulfur dioxide above the regulatory threshold
- Lupine and lupine products
- Mollusks and mollusk products
Vegetarian and vegan
Every restaurant in the parks and the Disney hotels serves one or more vegetarian dishes and at least one vegan option (with no animal products at all: no meat, no fish, no dairy, no eggs, no honey). So you’re not stuck with just a handful of places.
The best habit before your trip: check the menus ahead of time in the restaurant guide, where every menu is laid out in detail. Once you’re there, the Disneyland Paris app also shows vegetarian and vegan icons on the menus, which helps you quickly spot what works for you.
Gluten-free, lactose-free: a breakfast for your diet
If you’re staying at one of the Disney hotels, breakfast deserves a closer look. All the Disney hotels, along with some restaurants in the parks, offer a range of special breakfast products: gluten-free, and/or free of milk and lactose, and/or egg-free. There’s no extra charge for your diet.
A practical tip: these products aren’t set out on the regular buffet. When you arrive, speak to a manager, who will then bring out the range that fits your needs. Remember to do this on your very first morning so you don’t end up having to improvise.
Halal and kosher meals
Halal and kosher meals work a bit differently and require some planning. Every table-service and buffet restaurant in the parks, the Disney hotels, and Disney Village can provide halal dishes, as well as sealed kosher meal trays certified by the proper authorities.
You need to order at least 48 hours ahead, by phone. That lead time is what makes it possible to guarantee the preparation and the certification.
How to book and speak up
Plan ahead
Look over the restaurant menus in advance to find the places that suit you. For halal and kosher, place your order at +33 1 60 30 40 50 at least 48 hours ahead.
Choose table-service or buffet restaurants
In these restaurants, the staff is trained and can take the time to go over what’s safe for you. Be sure to reserve your table in advance.
Speak up as soon as you arrive
The moment you step inside the restaurant, let the staff know about your allergy or allergies. You’ll be handed the allergen chart right away.
Ask for the manager if needed
If nothing on the menu works for you, ask to speak with the manager: they’ll tell you which meals free of major allergens are available, with no reservation needed.

Frequently asked questions
01 How do I eat at Disneyland Paris with a food allergy or special diet?
In every restaurant in the parks and Disney hotels, tell the dining room manager about your allergy as soon as you arrive: you’ll be shown the allergen chart and, if nothing works for you, you’ll be offered a selection of dishes free of the major allergens (gluten included) right there, with no advance order and no extra charge. Vegetarian and vegan options are available everywhere. For kosher and halal meals, order at least 48 hours ahead by calling +33 1 60 30 40 50. You can also bring backup food for a baby or a picky child (baby food jars, bottles), since food is allowed through security.
02 With a food allergy, am I allowed to bring my own meals into Disneyland Paris?
Yes. Disneyland Paris lets you bring in outside food and non-alcoholic drinks, which is a real help with allergies or a strict diet: that way you can make sure your child gets a completely safe meal. Pack it in a soft container, since glass, alcohol, and large hard-sided coolers aren’t allowed for safety reasons.
03 Is a gluten-free or lactose-free breakfast available?
Yes. All Disney hotels and some restaurants in the parks offer a range of gluten-free, and/or dairy- and lactose-free, and/or egg-free products at breakfast, at no extra charge. These products aren’t on the regular buffet, so ask a manager when you arrive and they’ll have them brought out for you.
