Where to watch the Princess Cavalcade: the best spots

Where should you stand to see the princesses go by on Adventure Way? Here’s how the Princess Cavalcade at Disney Adventure World works, with its four show stops (Moana, Tiana, Rapunzel, Raya), how early to get there, wheelchair access, and my take after seeing it.

During a cavalcade, characters ride a wooden float designed like Peter Pan’s hideaway

The Princess Cavalcade is one of the first new additions bringing Disney Adventure World to life. Four princesses each ride their own float, stop to dance, and invite kids from both sides of the street to join them. Since it travels up and back along Adventure Way, a single good spot is all you need to catch it twice.

In this guide I focus on where to stand: the four show stops, how early to arrive, and the wheelchair viewing area. For everything about the show itself (how it unfolds, the characters, how long it lasts), the show page below fills in the rest.

Picking your spot: the route and where the floats stop

The idea couldn’t be simpler. The floats travel up Adventure Way, halt at a show stop so everyone can dance, and then return in the opposite direction. That means you don’t have to hurry anywhere. Find one spot, stay there, and the procession comes past you going out and again coming back.

Your best bet is a spot right by one of the show stops, since that’s where each princess halts. The dance itself is nothing complicated, yet it’s the only time she holds still long enough for you to get nice pictures. Every time the floats pause, each dancer chooses a child on either side of the street (so one child per dancer), and those kids join in for a few minutes. Hoping your child gets picked? Get into the very first row, whichever side you’re on.

If you can’t get a spot at a show stop, any point along Adventure Way still gives you a view of the floats, and you get the bonus of seeing them pass twice.

My take on the Princess Cavalcade

Personally, I loved it. This cavalcade finally brings some life to Adventure Way several times a day, with brand-new floats, which is still rare at Disneyland Paris. I also liked running into princesses you don’t often see elsewhere, like Raya.

The floats are beautifully decorated and the music is original. It’s a small-scale cavalcade, shorter than the big parades at Disneyland Park (hence the name cavalcade), but the way it gets kids involved makes it a really fun moment, especially as a family.

What I liked

  • Beautifully decorated floats and original music
  • The interaction with kids, a real highlight
  • Princesses you don’t often see elsewhere, like Raya
  • Performances several times a day, in broad daylight

What might bother you

  • A smaller cavalcade than the parades at Disneyland Park
  • Pleasant music, but a bit repetitive
  • Very loud sound: noise-reducing headphones can help young kids
  • A route in full sun, with no shade and no shelter if it rains

How early should you get there?

It all depends on how picky you are about your spot.

Plan on 5 to 10 minutes ahead for a decent spot a few rows back, where you’ll easily see the floats go by. To be right up front near a show stop, give yourself more like 15 to 30 minutes. And if you’re after the front row (for photos or so your child gets picked), count on more than 30 minutes, especially on busy days.

One trick, since there are several performances each day: when the first one is packed, come back for a later, less crowded one. The app lists today’s times.

Where to watch from a wheelchair (accessible viewing)

There’s a viewing area set aside for guests with disabilities at the cavalcade, open to holders of the Disney Priority Card. It gives you a clear view and spares you from having to elbow your way through the crowd. Find it and let a Cast Member know you’re there as soon as you arrive in the area, because space is limited.

For details on access cards, services, and everything else that makes your visit easier, see my guide to accessibility and disabilities at Disneyland Paris.

Frequently asked questions

01 Where’s the best place to watch the Princess Cavalcade?

Stand at one of the four show stops, where the princesses pause to dance, along Adventure Way in Disney Adventure World. Because the cavalcade goes out and comes back the same way, one good spot lets you see it twice. For the front row, get there at least 15 to 30 minutes ahead.

02 Does the Disney Princess Cavalcade run every day?

Yes. You can catch it several times a day, year-round, at Disney Adventure World (along Adventure Way). On the day you go, look up the exact times in the app.

03 For the Princess Cavalcade, how much time ahead should you show up?

Plan on 5 to 10 minutes for a decent spot a few rows back, 15 to 30 minutes to be right up front at a show stop, and more than 30 minutes for the front row on crowded days. Since the cavalcade runs several times a day, a quieter performance is often less packed.

04 Who are the Disney Princesses in the Disney Princess Cavalcade?

There are four: Rapunzel, Moana, Raya, and Tiana. Each one rides her own float, joined by her sidekick (Pascal, Heihei and Pua, Tuk Tuk, Ray).

05 Is the Princess Cavalcade wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There’s a viewing area set aside for guests with reduced mobility, open to holders of the Disney priority card. Let a Cast Member know as soon as you get to the area, since space is limited.
