Single Rider is the solo line at Disneyland Paris. It’s free and meant for guests willing to ride on their own. The idea: fill the empty seats that groups leave behind. As a result, the wait is often shorter than in the standby line.
The trade-off is simple. You wait with your group, but you ride apart from the others. Handy for riding coaster after coaster, less ideal if sharing the moment matters to you.
What is Single Rider (the solo line)?
Single Rider is a special line offered on some rides. Its job is to fill the seats left open in the ride vehicles.
When a group takes four of five seats, the empty one goes to a solo guest from the Single Rider line. The ride runs fuller, and you save time along the way.
It’s the free option next to Premier Access, the paid skip-the-line pass. You pay nothing, since access comes with your ticket.
How does it work?
On the rides that have it, you’ll often find three lines at the entrance: the standby line, the Premier Access line, and the Single Rider line.
You spot the Single Rider line from the signs on site, step in, and say how many are in your party. No booking, no app, no kiosk: you just walk up to the entrance.
Your group can line up together. At the loading area, though, cast members seat each of you separately wherever a spot is free. So you ride apart from your group. Don’t worry: you’re on the same ride, at the same time, just not in the same vehicle or not side by side.

Pros and cons
Pros
- It costs nothing, comes with your ticket, and anyone can use it (as long as you meet the ride’s height and safety rules).
- The wait is often shorter than in the standby line, especially at peak times.
- Ideal for solo guests and for riding thrill rides back to back.
- No booking: you just walk up to the line.
Cons
- Your group gets split up, so you don’t experience the ride side by side.
- Not always faster: on quiet days, the gap with the standby line is small.
- Some days, the Single Rider line itself can be long (I’ve waited quite a while in some of them).
- Not recommended for a young child who has to stay with an adult.
Single Rider or Premier Access?
Each one shortens your wait, yet they serve different purposes.
With Single Rider, you pay nothing, there’s no reserved time, and you board on your own. With Premier Access, you pay, you get a reserved time, and your group stays together.
So it comes down to this. Happy to ride solo and keep your money? Go Single Rider. Want your group together and a set time? Go Premier Access.

My tips
- Check the signs on site or the Disneyland Paris app: some Single Rider lines close depending on crowds.
- Go for peak times: that’s when the gap with the standby line is the biggest.
- In a group, mix it up: one ride together in the standby line, another one each on your own in Single Rider.
- Don’t skip the beautifully themed lines: on some rides, the standby line is part of the experience (Indiana Jones, Ratatouille).
- Keep in mind that saving time isn’t guaranteed on quiet days.

Frequently asked questions
01 What does Single Rider mean, and which rides offer it?
Single Rider is a free line, included with your ticket, that seats you on your own to fill an empty seat. It’s offered on some rides, mostly at Disney Adventure World (Crush’s Coaster, RC Racer, Avengers Flight Force…) and a few at Disneyland Park (Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril). The list changes, so check the app on the day you visit. Since you ride alone, it doesn’t suit young kids who need to stay with an adult.
02 Is the Single Rider line really faster?
Often, yes, especially at peak times: on Crush’s Coaster or Ratatouille, I usually save 20 to 30 minutes compared with the standby line. But not always. On quiet days, the gap shrinks or even flips, and the Single Rider line itself can get busy. Check the posted wait times before you pick your line. If you’re traveling alone or don’t mind splitting up for a moment, it’s the most effective free tool for making the most of your day.
03 Can you stay with your group in the Single Rider line?
While waiting, yes, the whole group stands in line side by side. Once boarding, no: each rider gets placed alone in whatever seat is free. Everyone rides the same attraction, just in different vehicles.
04 Does Single Rider require a reservation?
No. You can’t book Single Rider. You simply show up at the Single Rider entrance at the ride, with no app or kiosk involved. That sets it apart from Premier Access, which you book and pay for in the app.
05 How is Single Rider different from Premier Access?
With Single Rider, you pay nothing, there’s no time slot, and you board by yourself. With Premier Access, you pay, pick a time slot, and ride alongside your group. One saves time at no cost, the other locks in a ride while your group stays together.
