If you have a disability, get tired walking long distances, or are dealing with a temporary injury, Disneyland Paris offers manual wheelchairs you can rent for the day. It’s simple, open to everyone, and you don’t need an access card or any proof of disability.

Here’s what to know before you go: where to rent, how much it costs, what deposit to expect, and your options for a power wheelchair (which Disneyland Paris doesn’t rent itself). For the big picture on accessibility across the resort, see my accessibility guide.

Where to rent a wheelchair

There are two rental spots, one in each park, at the same counters that rent strollers:

In Disneyland Park, head to Town Square Terrace, just past the main entrance on Main Street (toward the Transportation building). You can’t miss it: it’s on your right once you’re through the turnstiles.

In the second park (Walt Disney Studios, now renamed Disney Adventure World), the counter is at Studio Services, on the entrance plaza, also on your right after the ticket check.

You rent the chair in the park you enter, then you can take it anywhere: the other park, Disney Village, your hotel. Just remember to bring it back to a rental spot at the end of the day (or of your trip) so you get your deposit back.

Cost and deposit

€25 per day, manual wheelchair

First come first served, no reservations

Renting a manual wheelchair costs €25 a day.

A refundable €200 deposit is required as soon as you want to take the chair out of the park (to go to the other park, Disney Village, or your hotel). Some counters offer a rental with no deposit if you stay inside the park where you rented it.

You get the deposit back at the end of your day or your trip, when you return the chair and show your receipt. Hang on to that slip, since it’s your proof when you bring the chair back.

You pay the deposit by credit or debit card (and sometimes in cash, depending on the rental spot). Some counters may also ask for a photo ID, so bring one to avoid any surprises. Both the price and the deposit amount can change, so double-check them on site when you rent.

Power wheelchairs

Keep in mind: Disneyland Paris rents only manual wheelchairs at its counters. Power wheelchairs and mobility scooters for guests with reduced mobility aren’t available on site. If you need something motorized, you have two options:

Go through a partner company. GMS Paris is a rental company that comes up often for scooters and power wheelchairs at the resort. You book online, in advance, for the length of your trip, with charging adapters included and a battery that lasts several hours depending on the model. The equipment is dropped off at the entrance of the Disney Village parking garage, or right at the concierge desk of your Disney hotel (or your lodging in Val d’Europe). As for cost, prices depend on the company and the rental length, and they go down for multi-day rentals. Check current prices on the company’s website. Other specialized mobility rental companies exist too if you’d like to compare.

Use your own chair or scooter. It’s perfectly fine to show up with the wheelchair you already own, whether manual or power, or with your personal scooter. Both the parks and the Disney hotels accept them, provided they comply with the usual width and speed standards. Only one limit applies: electric scooters can’t ride on the buses and shuttles that serve the hotels.

Who can rent one?

The service is for anyone who needs it: guests with reduced mobility or a disability, but also seniors who tire quickly, people with a long-term illness, or someone with an injury or temporary disability (a broken leg, a sprain, late pregnancy). The distances in the parks are long, and a wheelchair lets you enjoy the day without wearing yourself out.

The key point: renting a wheelchair doesn’t require any access card or proof of disability. Anyone can rent one, even for a short-term problem. It has nothing to do with the Priority Card or the Easy Access Card, which are separate programs (you request them at City Hall or Studio Services) and have no bearing on your ability to rent a wheelchair.

Key conditions to check

  • First come, first served You can’t reserve ahead of time. Supply is limited and depends on how crowded the day is.
  • Get there early On busy days, they can run out. Mornings are your safest bet.
  • Multi-day rentals Yes, it’s possible: tell the Cast Member when you rent so you can keep the chair from one day to the next.
  • Getting around both parks You can take the chair freely between the two parks, to Disney Village, and all the way to your hotel. A deposit is required as soon as you leave the park where you rented it.
  • Returning the wheelchair Bring it back to a rental spot (Town Square Terrace or Studio Services) before closing, no later than the end of your last day.
  • Refundable deposit You get it back when you return the chair and show your receipt. Make sure you keep it.

Which rides work with a wheelchair?

In a wheelchair, you can easily get around the walkways, the stores, and most areas. For rides, there are three situations: some let you stay seated in your wheelchair, others require you to transfer to the ride vehicle seat (you leave the chair for the length of the ride), and a few aren’t accessible.

Rather than a list that would quickly go out of date, check each ride page from the attractions guide: accessibility is spelled out ride by ride. And since access also depends on how independent you are (whether you can evacuate on your own if the ride stops), take a look at the Priority Card, which explains the colored sticker system and how it affects access to certain rides.

Frequently asked questions

01 Can you rent a wheelchair (or a stroller) at Disneyland Paris, and how much does it cost?

Yes. Manual wheelchair and stroller rental is available at the park entrances: at Town Square Terrace for Disneyland Park (on Main Street, on your right just past the turnstiles) and at Studio Services for Disney Adventure World. The same counter handles both. You can’t reserve ahead (first come, first served, with limited supply), so head there right at opening on busy days. No proof is required, even for a temporary need. Expect about €25 a day plus a €200 deposit (double-check the amounts on site). The park doesn’t rent power wheelchairs or mobility scooters: for those, go through an outside partner company and book online. You can keep the wheelchair for several days and store it at your hotel overnight.

02 Can I bring my own wheelchair or mobility scooter?

Yes. Your own wheelchair, manual or electric, or your scooter is welcome in the parks as well as in the Disney hotels, as long as it meets standard width and speed requirements. The only restriction: electric scooters aren’t allowed on hotel shuttles and buses.

03 Do Disney hotels lend wheelchairs?

Disney hotels let you store a wheelchair overnight, which is handy for a rental over several days. However, they don’t always offer rentals or loans: rentals go through the park counters or an outside provider. Check with your hotel’s concierge.
