Lineberty at Disneyland Paris: what it’s actually for

Heard about Lineberty for your Disneyland Paris trip? Watch out for a common misconception. It’s no longer a virtual queue for rides, and it isn’t used for character meet and greets either. Today, the tool is mostly used for sales of highly sought-after collectibles, like ride keys and pins. Here’s a simple rundown of how it all works.

What is Lineberty?

Lineberty is a virtual queue system. Here’s how it works: rather than standing in a physical line, you book a time slot from your phone. You then get a digital ticket with a set return time.

While you wait, your time is your own. Keep enjoying the park or take a break. When your turn is coming up, head back to the location shown and show your ticket. This cuts out long physical lines and the crush of people at very popular releases.

Is Lineberty for rides?

No. This is the mistake I see most often. Lineberty is not a line-skipping pass for the park’s rides.

To cut your wait at a ride, you need a different service: see Premier Access. To reserve a seat at a show, see Guaranteed Access.

Character meet and greets don’t go through Lineberty anymore either. They’re now handled in the official Disneyland Paris app, which is a separate tool from Lineberty.

What is Lineberty used for today?

Today, Lineberty is mainly used to run certain high-demand sales by time slot. When a limited-edition collectible comes out, fans rush to get it. To avoid a never-ending physical line, the park uses Lineberty: everyone books a slot and comes back at their set time to buy.

The two most common cases are collectible keys and pin trading. Other limited collectibles sometimes use the same system too.

How does it work?

Once you get the hang of it, the process goes quickly. Here are the main steps for a collectible sale. The details for each product (for example, the booking window for the keys) are covered in their own articles.

Step 1

Find where to book. You book from your phone, usually on the Lineberty website (sometimes by scanning a QR code posted on site).

Step 2

Book your time slot. Depending on the sale, booking may open a little ahead of time. You pick or are given a return time, and you get a digital ticket.

Step 3

Do your own thing while you wait. There’s no need to stand around on site. Enjoy the park and keep track of your turn on your phone.

Step 4

Come back at the time shown. Go to the sales location during your slot.

Step 5

Show your ticket on your phone, ready to pull up live when you make your purchase.

A bit of history

Disneyland Paris has used Lineberty for several years. In the past, the system served other purposes, including character meet and greets. That’s no longer the case.

The tool may still change over the coming years (name, interface, booking channel). The idea stays the same: a slot booked ahead of time so you skip the physical line.
