Disneyland Paris collector cards: free, and how to get them

Disneyland Paris collector cards are paper trading cards the park gives away for free during its events and Disney movie releases. In this guide, I explain what they are, how to ask Cast Members for them, and why buying them online is always a bad idea.

Disneyland Paris collector cards are paper cards meant for collecting, which the park gives out for free during special events and Disney movie releases. To get one, you simply ask a Cast Member from the custodial team politely: they’re the crew who keep the park clean. That’s it, there’s nothing to pay for.

I’ve been collecting these cards for several years, and grabbing them has become a little ritual every time I visit during an event. Here’s how it works and, above all, how to go about getting some without bothering the staff.

What are Disneyland Paris collector cards?

They’re collectible paper cards, roughly the size of a playing card. Each one shows a character, a ride, or artwork tied to a specific moment. They’re designed to be collected, a bit like souvenir postcards, except nobody sells them.

Disneyland Paris releases them for two kinds of occasions:

Park events: the seasons (Halloween, Christmas, World Princess Week), birthdays celebrated for Mickey, Minnie, or Donald, and the debut of a brand-new ride or show.

Disney movie and series releases: with every big release, one or more cards may show up. That’s how editions have come out for major Pixar and Star Wars releases, as well as new Disney feature films. You’ll find the full list of editions released so far further down.

Depending on the event, there might be a single card or as many as ten or so different ones to gather.

Are collector cards free?

Yes, they’re completely free. The park doesn’t sell them anywhere, not in its shops or anywhere else. They aren’t souvenirs you pay for, they’re cards given away while an event lasts. The only "cost" is being there at the right time and asking nicely.

How do you get collector cards?

To get a collector card, you need to ask a Cast Member from the custodial team politely: they’re the ones responsible for keeping the park clean. A smile and a friendly request usually do the trick.

The cards are only around for short windows, often a few days, for as long as the event or season runs, and supplies are limited. So it pays to go early in the event, while there are still plenty left.

Where and who to ask: the custodial team

It’s the custodial Cast Members who hand out the cards. They take care of cleaning and upkeep around the park, and you’ll see them sweeping the walkways all day long.

They carry the cards on them, while the shops and Guest Relations don’t. If you’re not sure who to ask, look for a Cast Member in a maintenance uniform and ask them politely.

Good to know: the Disneyland Paris hotels also have collectible cards of their own, a different series from the ones handed out in the parks.

Is there a limit on cards for each guest?

The rule is one of each design for every guest. That’s just common sense, so that everybody gets their turn. When an edition includes several designs, feel free to request one of each, but never the same design twice.

Good habits for getting the cards

  • Ask politely and with a smile: Cast Members hand out these cards on top of their regular job.
  • Take just one card of each kind per person, so other guests can enjoy them too.
  • Stay patient and don’t insist: when a Cast Member’s stack is empty, there are simply none left.
  • Don’t chase them down or pester them while they’re working.
  • Always say thank you: a little kindness goes a long way.

My collector card collection

Over my many trips, I’ve gathered quite a few of these cards. Here’s my personal collection, from the first editions in 2022 to the latest ones. It gives you a real feel for how varied they are (princesses, Halloween villains, movie releases, park anniversaries) before you head out to hunt for your own.

Dig deeper

Collector cards are a free souvenir in a category of their own. If you’re putting together a list of things to bring home from the park, I also recommend reading what souvenirs to bring back from Disneyland Paris. And to figure out where to shop while you’re there, check out all the shops in the park.
