The complete guide to Disneyland Paris attraction keys

Disneyland Paris attraction keys are decorative crystal keys you pay for, made in limited editions and often sold on a single day. Here’s how to recognize them, what they cost, and how to actually buy one, either by booking ahead or in the shop depending on the release.

What is a collectible key?

Sometimes called a collectible key, a Disney collector key is an ornamental key made of crystal, which Arribas, the resort’s official glassmaker, cuts and engraves. Don’t expect it to unlock anything: it’s meant for display shelves and collections. The series kicked off at Disneyland Paris in 2018, with fresh designs released at regular intervals since then.

Every key honors something from the park: a ride (Tower of Terror, Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom Manor, Space Mountain…), a hotel, a character, or an event (the park’s 30th anniversary, Disney’s 100th…). Some keys even hide a tiny engraved Mickey at the tip of the shaft, on top of the design cut into the crystal, a detail collectors love to spot.

Each key comes in a presentation box with a numbered certificate of authenticity. I collect several of them, and it’s that little set (the key, the box, and the hand-signed certificate) that makes them such a special item.

How much do they cost?

On release day, every buyer pays one fixed price per key. How much depends on the design: regular-size keys are the cheapest option, while the "Jumbo" editions (oversized keys) come with a noticeably higher price tag.

Prices have gone up over the years since the collection launched in 2018. For the exact price of each model, your best bet is the table further down: I keep it up to date, and it lists every key with its release date, edition size, and price.

Keep in mind that neither the Disneyland Pass discount nor the Cast Member discount can be used on these keys.

Limited editions and edition size

Each key is made in a limited quantity, known as the edition size. Once those pieces are gone, there’s no restock.

Here’s a fun detail: the number of pieces often matches a meaningful year. It might be the year the ride opened, the year of the movie, or the year the park opened (1992), which comes up a lot. For example, a key made in 1992 pieces is a nod to the park’s opening year. Collectors really enjoy little touches like that.

Lots of people want them and Disney keeps the runs small on purpose, so they sell out in no time. That scarcity is exactly why collectors chase them, and also why getting your hands on one isn’t easy.

How do you buy a collector key?

Each key sale is an event of its own, often held on a single day, on a set date, in a specific shop. The location varies from one key to the next (The Storybook Store, the Walt Disney Studios Store, World of Disney… the shop depends on the key). It’s a race against the clock: supplies are limited and nothing gets restocked.

Lineberty: how does it work?

For a long time, buying a key meant you had to book ahead in the Lineberty app (a virtual queue system).

Disneyland Paris would open time slots about 48 hours before the sale, usually with two booking sessions: one the evening before around 18:00, then a "last chance" session the next day around 12:00. Your Lineberty ticket gave you a time slot to come and buy the key on sale day, often capped at 1 to 2 keys per ticket.

Step 1

Follow the official announcements

Keep an eye on the official Disneyland Paris channels (the app and social media). That’s where they announce the current key, its release date, which shop it’s sold in, and how it’s sold (booking or direct sale).

Step 2

Get ready to book (if Lineberty is used)

When the sale goes through Lineberty, install the app ahead of time and sign up as soon as time slots open, about 48 hours before. Write down the two usual times: the session the evening before around 18:00 and the "last chance" session the next day around 12:00.

Step 3

Act fast when time slots open

Time slots disappear very quickly. Be ready before the announced time, with a solid internet connection. If the first session fills up, try again at the next one.

Step 4

Show up on sale day

Go to the shop at the time your slot says (or first thing in the morning if it’s a direct sale). Show the original Lineberty ticket inside the app, since screenshots get turned down. Most of the time, each person can buy 1 to 2 keys.
