Lineberty at Disneyland Paris: what it’s really for

Heard about Lineberty for Disneyland Paris? Watch out for a common misconception. It’s no longer a virtual queue for rides, or for character meets. Today, the tool is mainly used for sales of highly sought-after collector items, such as ride keys and pins. I’ll explain it all, simply.

What is Lineberty?

Lineberty is a virtual queue system. Here’s how it works: instead of standing in a queue, you book a time slot on your phone. You get a digital ticket for a set time.

While you wait, you’re free. You can carry on enjoying the park or take a break. When your turn is near, you go back to the place shown and present your ticket. It avoids long physical queues and the crush at very popular releases.

Is Lineberty for rides?

No. It’s the most common mistake. Lineberty isn’t a fast track for the park’s rides.

To cut your queue time on a ride, there’s a different service: see Premier Access. To book a seat at a show, see Guaranteed Access.

Character meets no longer go through Lineberty either. They’re now handled in the official Disneyland Paris app, which is a separate tool from Lineberty.

What is Lineberty used for today?

Today, Lineberty is mainly used to organise certain very popular sales, by time slot. When a limited-edition collector item comes out, fans rush to get it. To avoid an endless physical queue, the park uses Lineberty: everyone books a slot and comes back at their time to buy.

The two most common cases are collector keys and pin trading. Other limited collector items can sometimes go through the same system.

How does it work?

It’s quick once you’ve got the hang of it. Here are the main steps for a collector sale. The details specific to each item (such as the booking window for keys) are explained in the dedicated articles.

Step 1

Find where to book. You book on your phone, usually through the Lineberty web portal (sometimes by scanning a QR code displayed on site).

Step 2

Book your slot. Depending on the sale, booking may open a little in advance. You choose or are given a time and you get a digital ticket.

Step 3

Carry on with your day while you wait. You don’t have to stay on the spot. Enjoy the park and keep an eye on your turn on your phone.

Step 4

Come back at the time shown. Go to the point of sale at your slot.

Step 5

Show your ticket on your phone, ready to present at the moment you buy.

A bit of history

Lineberty has been used at Disneyland Paris for several years. In the past, the system was used for other things, including character meets. That’s no longer the case today.

The tool may still change in the coming years (name, interface, booking channel). The idea stays the same: a slot booked in advance to avoid the physical queue.
