If you have a disability, find long walks tiring or are dealing with a temporary injury, Disneyland Paris offers manual wheelchair hire by the day. It’s simple, open to everyone and you don’t need any access card or proof of disability.
Here’s everything to know before you go: where to hire one, how much it costs, what deposit to expect and what to do if you need an electric wheelchair (which Disneyland Paris doesn’t hire out itself). For an overview of accessibility across the resort, see the accessibility guide.
Where to hire a wheelchair
There are two hire points, one in each park, at the same desks as pushchair hire:
In Disneyland Park, head to Town Square Terrace, just past the main entrance on Main Street (towards the Transportation building). It’s easy to spot, on your right after the turnstiles.
In the second park (Walt Disney Studios, renamed Disney Adventure World), the desk is at Studio Services, on the entrance plaza, again on the right once you’re through the ticket gates.
You hire the wheelchair in the park you enter, then you can take it anywhere: the other park, Disney Village, your hotel. Just remember to return it to a hire point at the end of the day (or of your stay) to get your deposit back.
Price and deposit
Hiring a manual wheelchair costs €25 a day.
A refundable deposit of €200 is taken as soon as you want to leave the park with the wheelchair (to go to the other park, Disney Village or your hotel). Some desks offer hire without a deposit if you stay in the park where you hired it.
You get the deposit back at the end of your day or your stay, when you return the wheelchair and show your receipt. Keep that receipt safe, you’ll need it as proof when you bring the wheelchair back.
The deposit is paid by bank card (and sometimes in cash, depending on the hire point). Some desks may also ask for ID, so bring it to avoid being caught out. Both the price and the deposit can change, so check them on the spot when you hire.
Electric wheelchairs
Please note: Disneyland Paris only hires out manual wheelchairs at its desks. Electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters for visitors with reduced mobility aren’t available on site. If you need a powered one, you have two options:
Use a partner hire company. GMS Paris is a hire company often mentioned for mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs at the resort. You book online and in advance, for the length of your stay, with charging adaptors provided and a battery life of several hours depending on the model. The equipment is delivered to the Disney Village car park entrance, or straight to the concierge at your Disney hotel (or Val d’Europe accommodation). Prices vary by company and length of hire, with lower daily rates for stays of several days. Check current prices on the company’s website. Other specialist mobility hire companies exist too if you’d rather compare.
Bring your own equipment. You’re very welcome to bring your own wheelchair, manual or electric, or your own scooter. They’re allowed in the parks and in the Disney hotels, as long as they meet the standard width and speed rules. The only restriction to know about: electric scooters aren’t allowed on the hotel shuttles and buses.
Who is it for?
The service is for anyone who needs it: people with reduced mobility, disabled visitors, but also older visitors who tire quickly, people with a long-term illness, or someone with a temporary injury or impairment (broken leg, sprain, late pregnancy). The distances in the parks are long, and a wheelchair lets you enjoy the day without wearing yourself out.
Key point: hiring a wheelchair doesn’t require any access card or proof of disability. Anyone can hire one, even for a short-term problem. It’s completely separate from the Priority Card and the Easy Access Card, which are schemes of their own (to request at City Hall or Studio Services) and have nothing to do with your right to hire a wheelchair.
The conditions to know
- First come, first served You can’t book in advance. Numbers are limited and depend on how busy the day is.
- Arrive early On busy days, they can run out. The morning is still the safest time.
- Hire over several days Possible: let the Cast Member know when you hire it so you can keep the wheelchair from one day to the next.
- Moving between the two parks You can take the wheelchair freely between the two parks, to Disney Village and to your hotel. A deposit is taken as soon as you leave the park where you hired it.
- Returning the wheelchair Return it to a hire point (Town Square Terrace or Studio Services) before closing time, at the latest at the end of your last day.
- Refundable deposit You get it back when you return the wheelchair and show your receipt. Remember to keep it.
Which rides can you go on in a wheelchair?
With a wheelchair, you can get around the paths, shops and most areas easily. For the rides, there are three cases: some you can board while staying in your wheelchair, others require a transfer to the ride vehicle seat (you leave the wheelchair for the duration of the ride), and a few aren’t accessible.
Rather than a list that would quickly go out of date, check each ride’s page from the rides guide, where accessibility is given case by case. And as access also depends on how independent you are (being able to evacuate on your own if the ride stops), have a look at the Priority Card, which explains the coloured sticker system and how it affects access to certain rides.

Frequently asked questions
01 Can you hire a wheelchair (or a pushchair) at Disneyland Paris and how much does it cost?
Yes. Manual wheelchair and pushchair hire is available at the park entrances: at Town Square Terrace for Disneyland Park (on Main Street, on your right just after the turnstiles) and at Studio Services for Disney Adventure World. It’s the same counter for both. You can’t book in advance (first come, first served, limited stock): go there as soon as the park opens on busy days. No proof is required, even for a temporary need. Expect around €25 per day with a €200 deposit (check the amounts on site). The park doesn’t hire out electric wheelchairs or scooters: for that, use an external partner company and book online. You can keep the wheelchair for several days and store it at your hotel overnight.
02 Can you bring your own wheelchair or mobility scooter?
Yes. Your own wheelchair, manual or electric, or your mobility scooter is accepted in the parks as well as in the Disney hotels, subject to standard width and speed limits. The only restriction: electric scooters aren’t allowed on the hotel shuttles and buses.
03 Do Disney hotels lend wheelchairs?
Disney hotels let you store a wheelchair overnight, which is handy if you hire one for several days. However, they don’t always offer hire or loans: hire goes through the desks in the parks or an outside provider. Check with your hotel’s concierge.
