So what exactly is the digital pass
The digital pass is just your Disneyland Pass in paperless form: a QR code linked to your Disney account that you pull up in the Disneyland Paris app and show at the entrance, no card required. You don’t need to carry the physical pass around anymore, since your phone does the job day to day. That one QR code covers several things: getting into the parks at the turnstiles, using your discounts at store and restaurant registers and, depending on your pass, getting into the parking lot.
Parking works the same way: scan your code at a self-service machine or hand your phone to the Cast Member in the booth.
It has been available since July 19, 2023, when the Disneyland Pass lineup launched. Good news if you hold an older pass: it works for the previous pass types as well (Discovery, Magic Flex, Magic Plus, and Infinity).
Keep in mind the code is stored in your Disney account rather than on the device itself. In the app, go to the Account tab and then My Annual Passes to see it, or simply look at the home screen, where it’s displayed too.
One thing to clarify up front: I’m talking about the pass itself here, not the whole app. For the complete guide to the app (reservations, services, map), head over to my guide to the Disneyland Paris app. Booking your visit dates is another matter entirely, which I cover in booking your visit dates. And for everything about the Disneyland Pass as a whole, I recommend the complete Disneyland Pass guide.
How to add your pass to the app and pull it up (step by step)
Open the Account tab and sign in
Open the Disneyland Paris app on your phone. In the lower right corner, tap "Account", then tap "Sign in". This is the starting point for everything, because the pass belongs to your account rather than your device.
Enter your Disney login details
Type in the email address and password for the Disney account your pass is linked to, then confirm with "Log in". Make sure you use the account the pass was purchased on, since that’s the one holding the QR code.
Find your pass under My Annual Passes
Once you’re signed in, your pass shows up under "My Annual Passes" (and on the app’s home screen). If it isn’t there yet, tap "Add Ticket or Stay" to link it to your account. After that, it stays put: the QR code you scan at the turnstile is on the pass’s detail page.
Only you can use your pass: no lending
At the turnstile, more than one phone, and new devices
At the entrance, you simply scan your pass’s QR code at the turnstile reader, right from the app. As I said earlier, you may be asked for photo ID, so bring it with you.
Your pass can be shown on two phones. Since it’s attached to your Disney account (and not to any specific device), logging in to that same account on a second phone is all it takes to see your QR code there too. That’s handy, for instance, when my partner and I each want to show a pass without depending on a single phone.
Just note that this doesn’t let two people in with one pass: each pass is still tied to one person’s name.
Switching phones doesn’t mean losing your pass. It’s stored in your account, not on the device, so you only need to install the app on the new phone and sign in to your Disney account again to find it. You don’t have to link anything again.
Don’t confuse this with the choice between going fully digital and getting a physical card, which you make at renewal time: I cover that in renewing or switching your Disneyland Pass. Here, I’m talking about day-to-day use once you have your pass.
A dead phone at the entrance: plan ahead for battery
A screenshot of the QR code won’t work
On paper, it sounds tempting: take a screenshot of your QR code so it’s always handy. The catch is that it doesn’t work. The QR code disappears the moment you try to capture it, a deliberate security feature. Whatever screenshot you end up with won’t get you through the turnstile.
So the only way in is the live code, opened in the app with your account signed in. Before heading to the turnstile, make sure you’ve got your phone, an up-to-date copy of the app, and a working internet connection.
That’s also why battery matters so much (see the previous section): there’s no backup screenshot to fall back on, and only the open app counts at the entrance.
Physical card or fully digital
The digital pass works perfectly well on its own. The QR code in the app gets you through the turnstiles and unlocks your discounts, just like a card would. So there’s nothing extra you’re required to ask for: your phone handles it day to day.
If you’d rather keep something physical, the plastic card is still available. It’s free, and you simply ask for it at a ticket booth at the park entrance, no hassle involved.
I can see two good reasons to get one even with the digital pass. Some people just like having something to hold and tuck into a wallet. More importantly, it’s a welcome backup the day your phone lets you down (dead battery, cracked screen, the app acting up). Having the card in your bag means you’ll get in no matter what.
Digital and card aren’t an either-or choice: you can easily use the QR code day to day and keep the card in reserve. The choice between the two really comes up when you renew, and I go into it in renewing or switching your Disneyland Pass.

When the app glitches: what to try
- Blank QR code or frozen screen Force-close the app, then open it again. Most of the time, the QR code comes back up just fine.
- Make sure you’re in the right account The pass is tied to the Disney account it was purchased with. If the QR code doesn’t show up, check that you’re signed in with the correct login details and not with another family member’s account.
- Make sure the pass is actually linked The pass should be listed under My Annual Passes. If it isn’t, add it with Add Ticket or Stay to connect it to your account.
- Update the app and check your connection An outdated version or a spotty network can stop the code from loading. Test your internet connection before you get to the turnstile.
- Don’t worry: your pass is still in your account A display glitch never makes your pass disappear. It’s saved in your Disney account, not on your phone, so you won’t lose it.
Booking your dates from the same place
Pulling up your QR code to get in and booking your visit dates both happen in the same place (the app or the website), but they’re two separate steps. One gets you through the turnstiles on the day itself, the other secures your spot when a reservation is required. For everything about that second step, see booking your visit dates.
Frequently asked questions
01 Where does the Disneyland Pass show up on my phone?
The digital pass is stored in the Disneyland Paris app and linked to your Disney account. Look for it under My Annual Passes in the Account tab, or right on the app’s home screen. Open the pass to see the QR code you’ll scan at the gate. It only appears once you’re signed in.
02 Can I use the digital pass for parking and discounts too?
Yes. The same QR code does several jobs: getting into the parks at the turnstiles, unlocking your discounts at store and restaurant registers, and, depending on your pass, getting into the parking lot. At the parking lot, you show your QR code to a Cast Member at the booth or at an automatic kiosk.
03 Can I lend my digital pass to someone else?
No. The Disneyland Pass is strictly personal and can’t be transferred (Terms and Conditions of Sale, art. 3.1). The QR code is tied to your name, and you may be asked for photo ID each time you use it. Pulling it up on another person’s phone doesn’t make it shareable: entry is denied if the pass isn’t in the name of the person at the gate.
04 What happens if my phone is dead when I get to the entrance?
It’s up to you to have enough battery to show your pass at the turnstile. If your phone is out of juice, you can rent a portable charger at Disney Village. My tip: toss a power bank in your bag before your day, it’s the simplest way to avoid getting stuck.
05 Will a screenshot of the QR code get me in?
No, a screenshot won’t work. The QR code vanishes the moment you try to capture it, as a security feature. You have to be signed in to your account and display the live QR code in the app. So make sure you have your phone, an up-to-date app, and an internet connection when you reach the turnstile.
06 Can I have my pass on two phones?
Yes. Because the pass is tied to your Disney account, you can display it on two phones by signing in to the same account (yours and your partner’s, for example). Watch out: this doesn’t let two people in. The pass is still issued in one name only.
07 I got a new phone. How do I get my pass back?
All it takes is signing in to your Disney account again in the app on the new device. You don’t have to link anything again, because the pass is stored in your account rather than on the phone itself. Switching phones will never make you lose it.
