Tonight’s night-time show times
The time changes every evening and follows each park’s closing time, so it isn’t the same from one day to the next. To find the exact time for your day, open the day’s programme in the official Disneyland Paris app, or check the signs at the park entrance.
First, a word on vocabulary. You’ll often hear people talk about "the fireworks", but these are really full night-time shows: the pyrotechnics sit alongside projections, lasers, fountains and, for one of the two, drones. The fireworks are just one part of the show.
I was there on opening night for both (Disney Tales of Magic on 10 January 2025, Disney Cascade of Lights on 29 March 2026) and I’ve watched them many times since. This guide is based on what I’ve seen on site, and it then points you to my dedicated pages if you want more detail.
The two night-time shows in detail
Disney Tales of Magic is the night-time show at Disneyland Park. Running since 10 January 2025, it plays out on Sleeping Beauty Castle and the facades of Main Street U.S.A., for around twenty minutes in three acts (the magic of friendship, the magic of love, the magic of belonging to a family). It combines projections, lasers, fountains and fireworks. It replaced Disney Illuminations.
Disney Cascade of Lights is the night-time show at Disney Adventure World, the second park at Disneyland Paris (formerly Walt Disney Studios). Running since 29 March 2026 on Adventure Bay lake, it lasts around 17 minutes and combines aerial and water drones, projections on water screens, fountains and fireworks, set to an orchestral soundtrack and staged in 360 degrees.
For my full review of each show (how it feels, the atmosphere, what I think), see their pages via the shows index. For the daytime parade, see Disney Stars on Parade.

Information given as a guide, based on official announcements.
Disney Tales of Magic
Disneyland Park’s night-time show combining projections, lasers, fountains and fireworks on the castle and Main Street U.S.A., for all ages, to close the day.
Disney Cascade of Lights
Disneyland Paris night-time show on the big Adventure Bay lake, combining aerial and water drones, water screens, projections, fountains and pyrotechnics, for all ages.
What time are the fireworks (the night-time show)?
Each show is timed to its park’s closing time and starts just before it. As closing time changes with the season, the crowds and events, the show times also change from one evening to the next.
In practice, expect earlier in winter (often around 20:00 or 21:00) and later in summer (around 22:00 to 22:40). These are rough guides, not guaranteed times: the exact time is only known for a specific date.
My tip: don’t trust a time you read in advance on another website, it dates quickly. Always check the time for your day on the day itself, in the box at the top of this page or in the official Disneyland Paris app.
Depending on the year and the season (Halloween, Christmas), a short pre-show of about ten minutes sometimes comes before the show. It doesn’t always happen: check the current season’s programme or the Disneyland Paris app on the day.
What has changed: drones since April 2026
Since 1 April 2026, Disney Tales of Magic has been shown without drones, in a version that relies more on projections and pyrotechnics. Disney points to better reliability in bad weather (wind, rain), as drones are particularly sensitive to these conditions.
In practice, the only daily show with drones is now Disney Cascade of Lights, at Disney Adventure World, which combines aerial drones and water drones.
So if seeing drones is on your wish list, the Adventure Bay lake is where you need to head. Over at the castle, the show is still complete and polished, just without the aerial part. When Tales of Magic still had drones, I felt they added a little something, but the show works very well without them. For the full history of the park’s drone shows, see my article on the drone shows at Disneyland Paris.
Which show should you choose?
Both shows run at the same time, at the closing time of their own park: so you can’t see both on the same evening, even with a 2-park ticket. If you’re staying several days, the simplest option is to see one per evening, one park per evening.
If you can only see one, here’s my honest view after watching both of them many times. For a first visit, I recommend Disney Tales of Magic. The castle is still the park’s landmark and the scenes are very well thought out. The moment Main Street lights up is really powerful, with a real "wow" effect in the crowd (me included, every single time).
It’s a moving show, with a beautiful finale carried by the music. My only small regret: I’d have liked a few more fireworks.
Disney Cascade of Lights is newer and, for me, a little less moving, but it’s a real technical feat: the projections on the water are very sharp, the drones flying very low are impressive, the water drones add something extra and the 360-degree staging fills the whole space. The first time, I liked it a little less. With each viewing, I spot more and more details and I like it more and more.

Where should you stand?
Where you stand makes a big difference, but there isn’t one single "best spot": the right place depends on how you visit and on which one you’re watching. Tales of Magic is best watched head-on, from the castle and Main Street side. Cascade of Lights is enjoyed around the lake, with a 360-degree stage where the best position depends on other factors (angles, wind, heights).
As these are two very different things, I’ve written a dedicated guide for each one, with the areas to aim for and tips on when to arrive: where to watch Disney Tales of Magic and where to watch Disney Cascade of Lights. Finally, an area is reserved for people with reduced mobility and pregnant visitors, to the left of the castle, with up to 2 companions. Just speak to a Cast Member at the entrance to the area.
The nights that are exceptions
Three evenings break from the usual pattern and have special times:
- 14 July
- a special fireworks display is set off above the castle, in place of Disney Tales of Magic. It’s included in your ticket. I have a whole page on this day (big crowds, where to stand, tips): 14 July at the park.
- 31 October
- for Halloween night, the 2 parks stay open until 23:00 and Disney Tales of Magic starts at 23:00. It’s all in my dedicated article: Halloween night.
- New Year’s Eve
- a midnight fireworks display is set off above the castle, with Disneyland Park staying open later than usual. Disney Adventure World also has its own midnight celebration, with drones (weather permitting) and pyrotechnics. It’s all in my dedicated article: New Year’s Eve.
As these nights are one-offs, their times don’t follow the 23:00 rule of the other days.
Night-time shows through the years
Before the two current shows, other shows lit up the park’s sky. A short timeline:
Disney Dreams!
Night-time show on the castle (brought back for the 30th anniversary, 2023-2024).
Disney Illuminations
The castle night-time show, interrupted in 2023-2024 by the return of Dreams!
Disney D-Light
The first drone show above the castle.
Avengers: Power the Night
Drone show at Walt Disney Studios.
Disney Electrical Sky Parade
Aerial drone parade (until early January 2025).
Disney Tales of Magic
At Disneyland Park.
Disney Cascade of Lights
At Disney Adventure World.
You’ll find more about these past shows on my dedicated pages, including Disney Dreams! and Disney Illuminations, which left their mark on two generations of visitors.
Frequently asked questions
01 Are there fireworks every night at Disneyland Paris, and are they free?
Yes. Since 29 March 2026, there’s a night-time show in each park every evening, included in your ticket: Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park and Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World. Only a reserved viewing area costs extra, as an option.
02 What time are the fireworks at Disneyland Paris?
The night-time show takes place just before the park closes. So it’s earlier in winter (often around 20:00 or 21:00) and later in summer (around 22:00 to 22:40). The time changes every evening: check yours in the official Disneyland Paris app, on the day itself.
03 Are there still drones in the night-time show in 2026?
At the castle, no: since 1 April 2026, Disney Tales of Magic has been performed without drones, focusing on projections and pyrotechnics. To see drones, head to Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World, with drones in the air and on the water, skimming the surface.
04 Can you see both night-time shows on the same evening?
No. The two shows take place at the same time, at closing time in their respective parks, in two separate parks: so you can’t see both on the same evening, even with a 2-park ticket. The simplest option is to see one each evening if you’re staying several days, or to decide in advance which one you prefer.
05 Is the evening show cancelled if it rains or is windy?
Rarely. In strong wind or a storm, the show is usually adapted (drones or fireworks dropped) rather than cancelled. Light rain doesn’t usually stop it. The drones in Cascade of Lights are the most sensitive to wind. Check the day’s programme on the evening of your visit.
06 How early should you arrive for a good spot at the evening show?
It depends on where you want to stand. Allow 1 hour 30 to 1 hour 45 for the foot of the castle and 1 hour to 1 hour 30 for Central Plaza. Near the show control booth (the little green house in front of Casey’s Corner), allow 30 to 45 minutes. For Main Street U.S.A. or the park entrance, allow 15 to 45 minutes. For Cascade of Lights, by the lake, 30 to 45 minutes is usually enough. Arrive at least 45 minutes ahead when it’s very busy.
