Meeting Woody and Jessie at Disneyland Paris: where and how

There are two ways to meet Woody and Jessie at Disneyland Paris: in Worlds of Pixar, with no booking, or in the morning at the Hotel Cheyenne. Here’s where to find them and how to tell a proper meet and greet from simply seeing them pass by in the distance.

You now have two options to meet Woody and Jessie.

At Barrel of Monkeys, right in Toy Story Playland (Disney Adventure World, where the old shop used to be): this is the new meet and greet spot. A Toy Story character waits for you there, usually Woody. You turn up with no booking and the queue forms on the spot at the times shown. The spot is sheltered from wind and rain. As for Jessie, you can meet her with no booking next to the Crush’s Coaster ride.

At the Disney Hotel Cheyenne, too: every morning, in the lobby, open to all visitors. The characters wear their Woody’s Roundup outfits there, in keeping with the hotel’s Wild West theme.

The virtual queue meet and greet at Animation Academy, linked to the Toy Story 5 celebration, ended on 30 September 2026.

A quick note on names for first-time visitors: the second park was called Walt Disney Studios until March 2026. It’s now called Disney Adventure World.

A photographer is there: remember to have your PhotoPass (Disney’s photo service) scanned to get the shots, on top of your own photos. Bring an autograph book and a felt-tip pen too, so your children can leave with an autograph.

Where can you meet Woody and Jessie?

Locations can change depending on the time of year and what events are on: the safest bet is still to check on the day.

The best habit to get into: open the Disneyland Paris app and go to the character meet and greets section. You’ll see where and when Jessie and the "Toy Story Character" (usually Woody) are around.

When can you meet them?

Appearance times aren’t guaranteed from one day to the next and change often. Woody and Jessie tend to appear more often during Toy Story events. To find out the day’s time slots, the only reliable way is to check the meet and greets section of the Disneyland Paris app, ideally first thing in the morning.

What about the virtual queue?

During the Toy Story 5 celebration, a "Toy Story Character" meet and greet ran on a virtual queue at Animation Academy. This virtual queue ended on 30 September 2026: today, you can meet Woody and Jessie with no booking.

Disneyland Paris may bring back a virtual queue depending on the time of year and crowd levels. The app has the final word from day to day: if a virtual queue is needed, you’ll see it when you go to book your meet and greet.

To understand how the system works, how to book a time slot and when places open, read the virtual queue guide.

Meeting Woody and Jessie at the Disney Hotel Cheyenne

There’s a second, much less well-known place to meet Woody and Jessie: the Disney Hotel Cheyenne. The hotel has a Wild West theme that Toy Story shares (the world of Woody’s Roundup), which makes it the perfect setting for these characters.

The meet and greet takes place in the morning (usually between 8:15 and 11:00), in the hotel lobby and it’s open to all visitors, even if you’re not staying there. Most of the time only one of the two characters is there, sometimes taking turns between Woody and Jessie: so there’s no guarantee you’ll see both on the same morning.

If you’re staying at the Cheyenne, ask at reception when you arrive to find out the programme for your stay.

Seeing Woody and Jessie without meeting them

Don’t confuse meeting with seeing. Meeting a character means going up to them for a close-up photo and an autograph. Seeing a character means spotting them from a distance during a parade or a show, with no direct contact.

Woody and Jessie sometimes appear during entertainment or shows in the park. You can then see them, film them and wave, but with no close-up photo or autograph. It’s a good option if your children just want to catch a glimpse without queuing. For a proper photo, you need to go to the meet and greet spots described above.

At certain times of the year, you may also come across other characters from the films wandering around the Worlds of Pixar area, such as the little green army men. These are spontaneous appearances: fun to watch, but they aren’t organised meet and greets with a dedicated photo.

Good to know: Buzz Lightyear has no regular meet and greet. You’ll mostly see him in passing or on his ride, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, in Disneyland Park.
