The 2 Disneyland Paris parks, explained in detail

Disneyland Park (the great classic with the Castle) and Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios): I’ve explored every corner of both. Here’s what sets the Disneyland Paris parks apart, their lands, their headline rides and the best order to visit them for your situation.

How to choose

Understanding the 2 parks

Which of the 2 parks to start with depends on your profile, the length of your stay and what you fancy.

Disneyland Park is the essential stop for a first visit: it’s the "original" Disney world, with the Castle, the parade, the family rides and the classics (Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, it’s a small world). Disney Adventure World appeals more to teens, Marvel/Pixar fans and visitors looking for big thrills (Crush’s Coaster, Avengers Assemble), modern immersive experiences (Ratatouille, World of Frozen) and a more contemporary design.

If you only have 1 day, go to Disneyland Park. With 2 days or more, do both.

Which park should you choose for your situation?

You have 1 dayGo for Disneyland Park

With a single day, Disneyland Park is the obvious choice: the castle, the parade, the iconic rides (Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates, Peter Pan). It’s the most complete Disney experience, and the most dreamlike, ideal for a first visit or a visit with young children.

You have 2 daysDo both parks

With 2 days, spend a day in each park. The second day, in Disney Adventure World, lets you discover Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, Avengers Campus and the new World of Frozen. The "2-park" ticket also lets you move between the two depending on the shows and the crowds.

How to get from one park to the other

The two parks are 5 minutes’ walk apart, across a plaza. With a "2-park" ticket (or a holiday package), you can go through the gates as many times as you like during the day. Keep your ticket or your mobile app close to hand.

How many days to see everything?

To do both parks without rushing, allow 2 full days. In 1 day, you’ll only do one park properly. With children or in peak season (longer queues), 3 days give you a comfortable pace with time for shows, meet and greets and breaks.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, my answers

The questions I get most often by email and DM. Answers with real figures, checked and tested on the ground.

01 How do you get between Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World?

The two parks are right next to each other. You can walk from one to the other in 5 minutes across the central plaza (Fantasia Garden). You need a 2-park ticket to get into both on the same day. With a 1-park ticket, you stay in the park where your ticket was first scanned. No shuttle is needed between the two, and that’s one of the great strengths of Disneyland Paris.

02 What are the different types of Disneyland Paris tickets?

Disneyland Paris offers several types of ticket, and I know it’s easy to get lost when you’re planning your first visit. Here’s what’s available in 2026. Bon Plan tickets are the cheapest, in limited numbers. Dated 1-park or 2-park tickets are valid for a set date. Undated 1-park or 2-park tickets let you choose the date later. They aren’t valid on 14 July, 31 October and 31 December. On top of these come multi-day tickets (2 to 4 days) and Special Offer tickets, such as the Tribu ticket. Group tickets are for 20 people or more. Friends Tickets are for annual pass holders only. There’s no longer a separate "evening" ticket for Halloween or New Year’s Eve. The evening of 31 October and the evening of 31 December are included in the dated ticket for that day. The evenings reserved for annual pass holders still take place. Finally, there are the annual passes themselves. Each ticket has its own conditions and its own price.

03 How much does a trip to Disneyland Paris cost?

The cost of a trip varies a lot depending on the hotel you choose. For a 2-day, 1-night stay for 2 adults and 2 children with park tickets included, expect around €600 at the cheapest official Disney hotel and up to €1,100 at the most upmarket one. On top of that, you need to add meals: the amount depends on the type of restaurant, but I suggest allowing at least €300 for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner over the 2 days. In total, budget between €900 and €1,400 for this kind of trip. For a day visit only, the 1-day 1-park ticket starts at €49 per adult with a Bon Plan ticket: allow a budget of at least around €400 for a one-day visit for 2 adults and 2 children, meals included.

04 Which park has more rides, Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World?

Disneyland Park clearly has more attractions than Disney Adventure World. I count 37 attractions in Disneyland Park against 13 attractions in Disney Adventure World. That makes sense: the original park opened in 1992 and has grown over more than thirty years, while Disney Adventure World is still in the middle of its transformation. If you’re visiting for a single day and want to fit in as many attractions as possible, I recommend starting with Disneyland Park.

05 Does my child under 3 need a ticket?

No, entry to Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World is free for children under 3. You don’t have to buy or show any ticket at the entrance, you just go through the turnstiles with your child. A practical tip: always keep proof of age (passport or ID card) in your bag. Disneyland Paris sometimes checks when in doubt, as there has been a lot of abuse, so it’s better to be prepared. Remember to bring a pushchair too, as the distances are longer than you’d think.
