How to choose

The right meet and greet for who you’re looking for

At Disneyland Paris, bumping into a favourite character is often the best memory of a first visit, especially for children. But not every meet and greet is guaranteed every day: some are permanent, others depend on the daily schedule published in the app that same morning. Meet and greets work in 2 ways: standard, with the day’s times (you queue in person at the times shown) or a virtual queue for the most popular characters (you book a time slot in the app and come back at the time shown, with little or no wait). I sort meet and greets into 7 main families: the Disney classics (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and more), the princesses (Belle, Rapunzel, Cinderella and more), the Marvel heroes, Star Wars characters and Pixar characters, Frozen characters and the others (Villains and more).

Classics, princesses, heroes, villains and more: the 7 types of meet and greet

Category 1Mickey and friends

Meet and greets with Mickey and the gang are the most popular at the resort: Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ’n’ Dale. You can find them in both parks, at dedicated meeting spots as well as out and about, and there’s even a virtual queue for Mickey. Perfect for a first souvenir photo, they draw crowds: aim for morning slots to keep your wait down.

Category 2The Disney princesses

You’ll mostly meet the Disney princesses at the Princess Pavilion, in Disneyland Park. Depending on the time, you might see Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Ariel, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Tiana, Moana or Merida. Children love them, and these meet and greets are among the most popular moments in the park: be ready to be patient.

Category 3The Pixar characters

You’ll mostly find the Pixar characters in Disney Adventure World, in Worlds of Pixar. You can meet Woody, Jessie, Joy (Inside Out), Miguel (Coco) or the Incredibles family. Often less mobbed than the princesses, they’ll delight animation fans.

Category 4The world of Star Wars

The Star Wars characters are often in Disneyland Park, especially around Discoveryland. You might see The Mandalorian and Grogu, sometimes the BDX droids, but above all figures such as Darth Vader and Kylo Ren. For fans of the saga, these are memorable meet and greets, often with plenty of staging.

Category 5The Marvel heroes

The Marvel superheroes are waiting for you at Avengers Campus, in Disney Adventure World. On the line-up: Spider-Man, Thor, Loki, Black Widow, Black Panther, Captain America or Captain Marvel. Spectacularly staged, these meets appeal to kids and adults alike.

Category 6The world of Frozen

Elsa and Anna meet guests in the area dedicated to Frozen, in Disney Adventure World. This is A Royal Encounter with Elsa and Anna, in an Arendelle setting. Very much in demand with families, it’s one of the busiest in the park: book your slot through the virtual queue as early as you can.

Category 7And all the others

Beyond the big franchises, plenty of other characters can be met through the seasons: the Disney villains (Captain Hook, Jafar), Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Baloo, Timon and Rafiki, or the heroes of Zootropolis and Alice in Wonderland. Some are seasonal, such as Santa Claus at Christmas or Jack Skellington at Halloween. Ideal for rarer meet and greets, they often bring lovely surprises.

How to find out who’s out today

Which characters appear changes every day and is only confirmed that same morning. The reliable source: the Disneyland Paris app, in its meet and greet section, which shows the day’s schedule with time slots for each character. Some meet and greets are permanent (Meet Mickey), others rotate and some use a virtual queue. Check the app as soon as you arrive and plan your priorities.

My tips to keep queuing down

Tip 1: aim for meet and greets at park opening: the queues are almost empty in the first hour, even if fewer meet and greets are on offer. Tip 2: make the most of parades and shows: if you can’t do a meet and greet, use the parades and shows to wave to the characters from a distance. Tip 3: for the princesses and Mickey, remember to book your virtual queue slot as soon as you enter the park, or set an alarm on your phone 5 min before opening.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, my answers

The questions I get most often by email and DM. Answers with real figures, checked and tested on the ground.

01 How do you meet the Disney characters at Disneyland Paris?

There are four main ways to meet a character: in the park with a standard queue, in dedicated areas with a virtual queue in the Disneyland Paris app, during a character meal (character dining) or in some official Disney hotels. If you can’t get a meet and greet, you’ll also see the characters in the parades and shows.

02 How does a meet and greet with a standard queue work in the park?

Find where the meet and greet is (shown in the Disneyland Paris app and in the daily Programme), then join the queue there. The wait depends on the character and the time of day. You then have a few moments for a photo and an autograph.

03 How does a virtual queue meet and greet work?

For some very popular meet and greets (Princesses, Marvel heroes at Avengers Campus...), you don’t queue in person. You book a time slot in the Disneyland Paris app in advance, then come back at the time shown. It’s free, but the slots go fast. I’d recommend trying as soon as the park opens.

04 Which Disney hotels have character meet and greets?

Almost all of them. The Disneyland Hotel, Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge, Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe all have meet and greets, in the lobby or near reception, usually for hotel guests only. Only the Davy Crockett Ranch has none. Schedules vary by hotel and season, so ask at reception as soon as you arrive.

05 Which restaurants offer character dining at Disneyland Paris?

Five restaurants offer character dining at Disneyland Paris. In Disneyland Park, there’s Plaza Gardens Restaurant on Main Street (all-you-can-eat buffet with Mickey, Minnie and Donald, currently closed for refurbishment until 2027) and Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland (table service with the Princesses). Since March 2026, Regal View Restaurant & Lounge has been open in Disney Adventure World with a Princess buffet. At the hotels, Royal Banquet and La Table de Lumière at the Disneyland Hotel also offer character dining: see the Hotels FAQ section for details.
