When should you renew your Disneyland Pass?
You don’t have to renew on the exact day your pass expires. Disneyland Paris gives you a window from 30 days before to 30 days after your pass’s expiry date.
In practice, you can renew up to a month early, or wait up to a month after the end date and still keep your renewal price. This window also decides whether you get the discount at the ticket desks (more on that just below).
Personally, I always keep an eye on my expiry date: I note it down as soon as I get my pass and plan to renew a little early, rather than rushing on the last day. Renewing before it expires doesn’t cost you a single day either, as your new pass takes over the day after the old one ends. Activation is explained in detail further down.
You can check your expiry date at any time in your Disneyland Paris account and in the app, under "My Disneyland Pass".
The renewal offer: 15% off at the ticket desks
How to renew: at the ticket desks (and what you can do online)
Strictly speaking, you can’t renew online. From your account or the Disneyland Paris app ("My Disneyland Pass" section), you can only buy a new Disneyland Pass at full price, without the 15% discount and without the renewal offer. This is mostly useful if you’ve missed the renewal window. To renew with the discount and with no gap in validity, go to the ticket desks (see the other tab).
At the Annual Passport ticket desks, located under the Disneyland Hotel at the entrance to Disneyland Park, every day from 8:30 to 17:00 (the wait varies with crowds). This is the place to go to get the 15% discount when you renew, and the only place to upgrade to a higher pass: show your valid pass and ask on the spot.

Where are the ticket desks and when are they open?
Digital pass or physical card
By default, your Disneyland Pass is digital: it lives in the Disneyland Paris app, in the "My Disneyland Pass" section, as a QR code you show at the entrance. It’s the simplest format: you always have it on you, and you still have it even if you lose a card.
The physical card is still available and it’s free, but only at the ticket desks. If you renew at the ticket desks, you’re given the card automatically, without having to ask. If your pass is digital (for example a new pass bought online) and you’d like the physical card, just go to the ticket desks and ask for it.
Digital suits most visitors. The physical card is still handy in some cases: for families with young kids who don’t have a phone, to lend a pass to a friend or relative for a visit, or simply as a backup if your battery dies during the day.
Install the Disneyland Paris app before you go. It shows live queue times and show and parade times, and lets you book your restaurants, manage your ticket and find your way around the map. It’s the tool that runs your day.
What to bring to the ticket desks
- Photo ID ID card or passport, to identify you when you renew.
- A way to pay Bank card or cash, whichever suits you.
- Your bank details (RIB) Only if you choose to pay in monthly instalments.
- Your current pass In digital format in the app ("My Disneyland Pass") or as a physical card.
- A CMI (France’s official disability card) Only if you’re asking for the disability price (25% disability discount).
Renewing in monthly instalments: the initial payment still applies
As with a first purchase, you can pay for your renewal in one go or monthly (in that case, remember your bank details). Monthly payment follows exactly the same conditions as a purchase: you pay at least the minimum amount asked at the ticket desk (you can pay more if you like), and the balance is split into 11 monthly instalments.
When does your renewed pass become active?
Moving up a tier (upgrade)
Renewing doesn’t necessarily mean taking the same pass again. You can upgrade, in other words move to a more complete pass. From the simplest to the most complete:
- Bronze One
- 170 days of access, 1 park per visit.
- Bronze Max
- 210 days of access, 2 parks per visit.
- Silver
- 300 days of access, 2 parks per visit.
- Gold
- 365 days of access, 2 parks per visit.
You upgrade at the ticket desks, with your current pass. Two situations, two prices:
- When you renew (within the 30-day window around your expiry date): you go straight for the higher tier and get the 15% discount on the new pass.
- During the year (you want to move up a tier without waiting for your pass to end): the change is made pro rata, without the 15% discount. The calculation is explained just below.
Either way, the new pass is active the day after you buy it (unlike a simple renewal, which takes effect the same day).
To find out which tier suits you (days of access, parks, discounts, whether it’s worth it for how often you visit), I won’t repeat the comparison here: it’s all in the Disneyland Pass guide.
How much does it cost to upgrade during the year?
Your current pass is refunded pro rata
When you upgrade outside the renewal period, Disneyland Paris works out the unused part of your current pass (pro rata to the validity time left). This amount isn’t lost: it’s credited towards your new pass.
The remaining amount goes towards the new pass
The pro rata refund is deducted from the price of the higher tier you choose. So you only pay the difference between the two passes, not the full price of the new one.
Monthly instalments are recalculated (if you pay monthly)
If you pay for your current pass monthly, the old plan is stopped and new instalments are calculated on the higher-tier pass. Your monthly payment is adjusted to the new pass.
An initial payment may be required
Depending on your situation, you may be asked for a partial or full initial payment when you upgrade, on top of the recalculated instalments. The adviser at the ticket desk gives you the details before you confirm.
For exact prices
The amounts depend on your starting tier, the tier you’re moving to and the time left on your pass, so I don’t give fixed prices here. You’ll find the price details in the Disneyland Pass guide.

01 When can I renew my Disneyland Pass?
The renewal window opens one month before your pass’s expiry date and closes one month after. So you have two months in total to renew at the ticket desks without losing your membership history. Outside this window, you have to buy a new pass from scratch. I always keep an eye on my expiry date so I renew in time and keep the renewal offer.
02 Is there a discount for renewing the Disneyland Pass and how do you get it?
Yes. A 15% discount applies when you renew within the set window (1 month before to 1 month after your pass’s end date). Watch out: you can only get it at the annual pass desks at Disneyland Park. You can’t renew online (online, you can only buy a new pass at full price). When you renew there within this window, the discount is applied automatically, with no code or extra step, and you get a free Disneyland Pass lanyard.
03 Can I renew online or do I have to go to the ticket desks?
You can only renew at the annual pass desks at Disneyland Park: it’s the only way to renew and get the 15% discount. Online (Disneyland Paris account or app), you can’t renew. You can only buy a new pass at full price, without the renewal offer.
04 What do I need to bring to renew at the ticket desks?
Bring ID, a means of payment (card or cash), your current pass (digital or card) and, if you’re paying in monthly instalments, your bank details (RIB).
05 Can I upgrade when I renew?
Yes. The tiers go from Bronze One to Bronze Max, then Silver and Gold. When you renew within the window at the ticket desks, you get the 15% discount on the new tier you choose.
06 When does my renewed pass become active?
If you renew before it expires, the new pass becomes active the day after the old one ends, with no gap in validity. If you renew after it expires, it starts on the day you buy it. So renewing early doesn’t lose you a single day.
07 How do you stop or not renew your Disneyland Pass?
The Disneyland Pass doesn’t renew automatically: it expires on its end date. So to stop it, you simply don’t renew it. There’s nothing to cancel. If you chose to pay in monthly instalments, these carry on until the end of your year’s commitment.
