How to choose

The right land for what you fancy

Each land is a self-contained themed world: its scenery, background music, restaurants, shops and rides all tell the same story.

Understanding the lands helps you build a logical, relaxed itinerary: doing the rides of one land back to back saves you going back and forth. For a first visit, start with Fantasyland in the morning (before the crowds arrive), then carry on theme by theme.

The lands by park

Disneyland ParkThe 5 lands of the original park

Disneyland Park is laid out around the castle in 5 worlds: Main Street U.S.A. (the turn-of-the-century shopping street at the entrance), Fantasyland (fairy tales and enchantment), Frontierland (the Wild West and Big Thunder Mountain), Adventureland (the jungle and pirates) and Discoveryland (inventions and Star Wars).

Disney Adventure WorldThe 5 lands of the second park

The second park focuses on franchises and adventure: World Premiere Plaza (the entrance and central square), Worlds of Pixar (Ratatouille, Crush’s Coaster), Avengers Campus (Marvel), World of Frozen (the new Frozen land) and Adventure Way (the lake, Rapunzel and Up). A more contemporary feel, geared towards thrills and shows.

In what order should you visit the lands?

My method: in Disneyland Park, walk quickly through Main Street U.S.A. in the morning (you’ll come back later), head straight for Fantasyland, then at lunchtime and early afternoon move on to Adventureland and Frontierland. After that, go back to Main Street U.S.A. and finish the day in Discoveryland.

Which land for which age?

Toddlers (0-5 years): Fantasyland (carousel, Dumbo, small world). Children (6-10 years): Adventureland, Worlds of Pixar, World of Frozen, Frontierland, Adventure Way. Teens and adults: Discoveryland (Hyperspace Mountain) and Avengers Campus.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, my answers

The questions I get most often by email and DM. Answers with real figures, checked and tested on the ground.

01 What are the lands of Disneyland Park and how many attractions are in each?

Disneyland Park is split into 5 themed lands. Main Street U.S.A. has 5 experiences, including rides in period vehicles and the covered arcades. Adventureland has 7 attractions, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, La Cabane des Robinson and Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin. Discoveryland lines up 6 futuristic attractions such as Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. Fantasyland has the most, with 13 attractions inspired by fairy tales, including Sleeping Beauty Castle and La Tanière du Dragon. Frontierland offers 6 Wild West attractions, including Big Thunder Mountain and Phantom Manor.

02 What are the lands of Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) after the transformation?

Disney Adventure World, which replaces the former Walt Disney Studios Park, is now organised into 6 lands. World Premiere Plaza (2 attractions) is home to Tower of Terror, Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets Over Agrabah and the World Premiere hub. Avengers Campus (2 attractions) brings together Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. Worlds of Pixar (7 attractions) groups Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, RC Racer, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Cars ROAD TRIP, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop. World of Frozen (only one ride for now), which opened on 29 March 2026, is home to Frozen Ever After. Adventure Way (1 attraction) has Raiponce Tangled Spin.

03 What are the different types of Disneyland Paris tickets?

Disneyland Paris offers several types of ticket, and I know it’s easy to get lost when you’re planning your first visit. Here’s what’s available in 2026. Bon Plan tickets are the cheapest, in limited numbers. Dated 1-park or 2-park tickets are valid for a set date. Undated 1-park or 2-park tickets let you choose the date later. They aren’t valid on 14 July, 31 October and 31 December. On top of these come multi-day tickets (2 to 4 days) and Special Offer tickets, such as the Tribu ticket. Group tickets are for 20 people or more. Friends Tickets are for annual pass holders only. There’s no longer a separate "evening" ticket for Halloween or New Year’s Eve. The evening of 31 October and the evening of 31 December are included in the dated ticket for that day. The evenings reserved for annual pass holders still take place. Finally, there are the annual passes themselves. Each ticket has its own conditions and its own price.

04 How much does a trip to Disneyland Paris cost?

The cost of a trip varies a lot depending on the hotel you choose. For a 2-day, 1-night stay for 2 adults and 2 children with park tickets included, expect around €600 at the cheapest official Disney hotel and up to €1,100 at the most upmarket one. On top of that, you need to add meals: the amount depends on the type of restaurant, but I suggest allowing at least €300 for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner over the 2 days. In total, budget between €900 and €1,400 for this kind of trip. For a day visit only, the 1-day 1-park ticket starts at €49 per adult with a Bon Plan ticket: allow a budget of at least around €400 for a one-day visit for 2 adults and 2 children, meals included.

05 Do you really need the official Disneyland Paris app?

Yes, I consider it an essential tool these days. It shows live queue times and show and parade times, and lets you book table service restaurants, manage your tickets and buy Premier Access. Remember to download it and log in to your Disney account before you arrive, as the network can be overloaded on some days.
