Disneyland Paris has put on several drone shows since 2022, and they have become a signature of evenings at the park.

If you want to see drones today, here is the short answer: in 2026, the only daily drone show is Disney Cascade of Lights, performed every evening at park closing on the lake at Disney Adventure World (the second park, formerly Walt Disney Studios). The castle at Disneyland Park has had no drones since 1 April 2026.

This page covers every drone show at Disneyland Paris, from the very first to today’s. Each past show is clearly marked as ended, with its dates and what it offered. I was lucky enough to see several of them in person, and I share my thoughts on the ones I saw.

Since March 2026

Disney Cascade of Lights

The current drone show: 279 aerial drones and 100 water drones (379 in total) on the lake at Disney Adventure World.

Disney D-Light (ended)

Status: ended. Shown from 6 March 2022 to 30 September 2023, at Disneyland Park, above Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Disney D-Light kicked off the drone era at Disneyland Paris: it was the very first daily drone show at any Disney park in the world. Created for the launch of the park’s 30th anniversary, it was a pre-show of around 4 minutes, just before the night-time show.

Nearly 200 drones (by Dronisos, a specialist French company) drew shapes of light in the sky, set to the song "Un monde qui s’illumine", recorded with a symphony orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Originally planned to run until April 2023, it was extended to 30 September 2023 as part of the 30th anniversary grand finale. It was the first drone show I ever saw. Mickey’s head appearing in the sky really stayed with me, and I remember it as one of the best pre-shows the park has ever put on.

Avengers: Power the Night (ended)

Status: ended. Shown over three seasons between 28 January 2023 and 7 January 2024, in the second park (then Walt Disney Studios), at Production Courtyard near Avengers Campus, around the Tower of Terror.

Avengers: Power the Night was the first night-time show at a Disney park dedicated entirely to the Marvel universe. It combined up to 500 drones (Dronisos), projections on the tower, pyrotechnics and music, and lasted around 10 minutes. The drones formed the outlines of heroes such as Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man and Black Panther.

It ran in several sessions: a first season from 28 January to 8 May 2023, an autumn return from 1 September to 5 November 2023 (reworked version), then a festive season from 1 December 2023 to 7 January 2024.

I’m not a big Marvel fan to begin with, but the show really impressed me. Coordinating 500 drones with pyrotechnics above such a small space was a real technical feat.

Disney Electrical Sky Parade (ended)

Status: ended. Shown from 8 January 2024 to 6 January 2025, at Disneyland Park, above the castle.

Disney Electrical Sky Parade was a night-time pre-show of around 8 minutes, performed about ten minutes before the park closed.

The first part of the Disney Symphony of Colours programme, it paid tribute to the Main Street Electrical Parade (1992-2003). Instead of floats on the ground, around 500 drones recreated the illuminated scenes in the sky (the Blue Fairy, Pinocchio, Alice, Cinderella, Elliott the dragon…), set to the electronic music of the original parade.

It was also a technical world first for a Disney park: some of the drones carried pyrotechnics on board. The show was produced by Ben Spalding, with Dronisos on the drones.

Drones at Disneyland Paris today

The current drone show: Disney Cascade of Lights. Launched on 29 March 2026, it has been the resort’s only daily drone show (across both parks) since 1 April 2026, performed every evening on the Adventure Bay lake at Disney Adventure World (the second park, formerly Walt Disney Studios Park). It combines 279 aerial drones and 100 water drones (379 in total) skimming the surface of the water, a world first by Dronisos. For full details of the show and the best viewing spots, see its dedicated article: Disney Cascade of Lights.

What about the castle? Disney Tales of Magic had drones from January 2025 to 1 April 2026, then carried on without them (the drones were moved over to Disney Adventure World). Disneyland Paris now has two major night-time shows each evening, one per park: see the guide to the night-time shows.

Good to know: the park has also put on one-off drone shows outside the permanent programme (for example an Avatar-themed show in December 2025), not to be confused with the daily show.

A special drone show on New Year’s Eve

New in 2026. As well as the daily Disney Cascade of Lights show, on the evening of 31 December Disney Adventure World puts on a drone show (weather permitting) and pyrotechnics above World of Frozen, the land of Arendelle, to see in the New Year at midnight.

This is a one-night event for New Year’s Eve, not to be confused with Cascade of Lights, performed every evening on the lake. Disneyland Park, for its part, keeps its midnight fireworks above the Castle, so each park has its own celebration.

For everything about the evening (tickets, times, dinner, tips), see my guide to New Year’s Eve at Disneyland Paris.

What’s next?

For 2026, the go-to drone show is still Disney Cascade of Lights.

As for what’s new, a drone show (weather permitting) with pyrotechnics now takes place on New Year’s Eve at Disney Adventure World, above World of Frozen (see above). Apart from that, no other permanent new drone show has been announced for now. I update this page as soon as there is an official announcement.

Frequently asked questions

01 Can the drone show be cancelled because of the weather?

Yes. The drones don’t fly in strong wind, and the show may then go ahead without them or be cancelled. Rain can also disrupt it. The safest bet is to check the day’s programme in the official Disneyland Paris app before planning your evening around the show.

02 Is a new drone show planned at Disneyland Paris?

No new permanent drone show has been confirmed so far. The park sometimes puts on one-off drone shows (such as an Avatar show in December 2025), separate from the daily show.

03 Are there still drones in the night-time show in 2026?

At the castle, no: since 1 April 2026, Disney Tales of Magic has been performed without drones, focusing on projections and pyrotechnics. To see drones, head to Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World, with drones in the air and on the water, skimming the surface.
