I’ve had an annual pass since 2016 and spent over 200 days in the parks. Here I explain what to give depending on your situation.
Mainly looking for a voucher or invitation to print? It’s further down.
Which option should you give, depending on the date?
Here are the four options side by side. Good to know: there are two parks, and a "1 park" ticket gets you into either of the two, your choice.
| Option | Valid | What next | Guide price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dated ticket | The day chosen when buying | Nothing, they show their ticket on the day | €75 on average (adult, 1 park) |
| Undated ticket (Billet Liberté) | 1 year, except 14 July, 31 October and 31 December | Book their date with their Disney account | €129 (adult, 1 park) |
| Wonderbox gift box | 27 months from purchase | Book their date on wonderbox-connect.com, not with Disney | around €100 (day ticket, 1 adult). A supplement may apply depending on the date. |
| Disney hotel holiday | The dates of the stay | Nothing, park entry is included | from €195 to €1,235 per person per night |
Prices are a guide: Disney ticket prices change with the date, gift box prices with the services chosen.
Watch out: validity starts from the date of purchase, so don’t buy too early if the visit is still a long way off.

Giving a ticket: with or without a date?
You buy the ticket on the official ticket website, with a Disney account. It then arrives by email, in your inbox.
When ordering, enter the name of the person going to the park: they may be asked for ID. And for a child under 12, remember to buy a ticket for the adult going with them too.
All the tickets are compared in my ticket comparison.
You know the date
Give a dated ticket, at around €75 per adult (1 park). It can be cancelled free of charge up to 3 days before the visit.
When booked 60 to 90 days ahead, the Bon Plan ticket drops to €49, the same price for adults and children. But it can’t be refunded, changed or cancelled.
The date is still open
Give an undated ticket: €129 per adult and €120 per child (1 park). It’s valid for 1 year, except 14 July, 31 October and 31 December.
The ticket isn’t refundable. However, the booked date can be cancelled until 10:00 on the day itself, so another one can be chosen.

Giving a Wonderbox or Smartbox gift box
A Wonderbox or Smartbox is a gift box, delivered to your home or sent by email. The person then books their date on the seller’s website, not with Disney.
Don’t confuse it with the Disney hotels Christmas gift box, with the gift card to spend on site or with company gift vouchers or cards, such as French holiday vouchers.
| The gift box | Who it’s for | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Day for 1 person | 1 adult (12 and over) | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Junior day | 1 child aged 3 to 11under-3s go in free, no gift box needed | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Duo day | 2 people | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Family day | 4 people | 1 day, 1 park of your choice |
| Stay for 2 | 2 people | 1 day, 1 park of your choice, plus 1 night in a hotel near the parks |
Wonderbox Connect’s Disneyland Paris gift boxes. Park of your choice: Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World.
Allow around €100 for an adult day and €390 for a family day. The stay for two with one night costs from €370 to €640. Prices vary depending on the box and the services chosen.
The stay boxes never include a Disney hotel, but a hotel near the parks. And a gift box bought in a shop can take up to 24 hours to activate.
Giving a Disney hotel holiday
The holiday combines the hotel and park entry in a Hotel + Tickets booking. So there’s no date to book afterwards. Allow from €195 to €1,235 per person per night.
You can book in the name of the people going and pay yourself. Three things to know:
- Choose the right name Only the lead booker can change or cancel the booking. If it’s in your name, you stay in control. If it’s in their name, they manage it. See my guide to cancelling or changing a holiday.
- Book more than 10 days before arrival Any later, and the bank card used to pay may be asked for on arrival, when you won’t be there. Booking early also lets you pay in instalments, with a deposit of 15%.
- Minors can’t stay on their own Even a teenager: include an adult in the booking.
To choose the hotel, see all the hotels compared. To mark the occasion, read what Disney offers for a birthday. Everything else is in my guide to planning your trip.

Revealing the surprise: a printable invitation or gift voucher
With a dated ticket or a holiday, you can keep the surprise until the big day. With an undated ticket or a gift box, reveal it earlier: the person has to book their date, and they need a free day.
I’ve made two free templates: a picture invitation for children who can’t read yet, and a gift voucher for older ones. You add the name and a short message in a minute, or print it blank to write by hand.

The first name and message stay on your device: they are not sent to me.
Slip the invitation into an envelope, with the ticket, the gift box or the holiday confirmation. If you’re far apart, save it as a PDF or take a screenshot to send it.

Frequently asked questions
01 How do you give Disneyland Paris as a gift?
The simplest option is the undated ticket (Billet Liberté in French), the one I recommend. It’s the only ticket the official ticket website flags as "Ideal as a gift". It has no date and stays valid for 1 year from purchase. Only three dates are excluded: 14 July, 31 October and 31 December. The person you give the ticket to then books their date in advance, depending on availability. If you already know the day of the visit, a dated ticket is usually cheaper. Allow around €75 per adult, for one of the two parks of your choice. For a gift to unwrap, there are also Wonderbox gift boxes. And to give the whole trip, book a hotel + ticket package, which you can put in the names of the people travelling.
02 Can you give a Wonderbox or Smartbox gift box for Disneyland Paris?
Yes with Wonderbox, not with Smartbox: its French website doesn’t offer any at the time of writing. The Wonderbox Disneyland Paris range goes from a day for 1 person to a family day (4 tickets). It also includes a one-night stay for two and a Wonderbox gift card for any amount. Allow around €100 for an adult day, around €390 for a family and up to around €640 for the stay for two. These prices vary with the box and what’s included. Two things to know before you buy. First, the hotel for the stay for two is never a Disney hotel. Second, the person you give the box to books their date on wonderbox-connect.com, not on the Disney website. They may be asked to pay a supplement depending on the day. As for validity, the boxes are valid for 27 months and the card for 12 months.
03 Is there a free printable Disneyland Paris invitation?
Yes. I offer two free templates, with no sign-up. The first is a picture invitation, for children who can’t read yet. The second is a "good for" voucher, for older kids. You add the first name and a short message, then print it or save it as a PDF. You can also print it blank and fill it in by hand. The first name and the message aren’t sent to me. The templates don’t imitate any ticket. They have no QR code or barcode, and a line printed on them says it isn’t an admission ticket. The real ticket arrives by email at the address of the Disney account used to buy it.
04 Can I change the booked date of an undated ticket?
Yes. You can cancel your booking until 10:00 (French time) on the booked day, without losing your ticket. To change day, cancel and then book a new date: only this new booking depends on availability.
05 Are Disneyland Paris tickets in your name?
Yes, they’re issued in one person’s name. At the entrance, you may be asked for ID in the same name. In any case, I steer clear of tickets resold between individuals.
06 How do I get my tickets: do I need to print them?
Your tickets arrive by email straight after you buy, as an e-ticket. On the day, you show it on your phone (the QR code is enough) or printed, whichever you prefer. If you’d really like a physical ticket, ask for one by phone from the booking centre (+33 9 69 32 60 61) up to 14 working days before your visit date: there’s a charge for delivery. You can also link your tickets to your account and to the Disneyland Paris app.
07 Can you book a Disneyland Paris holiday in someone else’s name?
Yes. The name on the booking doesn’t have to match the payment method. You book a hotel + ticket package in the name of the people travelling and pay for it yourself, in one or several instalments. Three things to bear in mind. First, if you book 10 days or less before arrival, the bank card used to pay may be requested on site. You won’t be there to show it, so book more than 10 days before arrival. Second, only the lead booker, or the person the booking was transferred to, can change or cancel it. You’ll find the details in my article on how to cancel or change a stay. Finally, a minor can’t stay alone in a Disney hotel: include an adult in the booking.
