The Disney hotel Christmas box, only for guests staying there

The Christmas box is something the Disney hotels offer during the Christmas season only. It’s a set of holiday-themed items, sold on top of your stay and reserved for guests sleeping at one of the Disney hotels. You won’t find it for sale to the general public or in the park stores.

Each box is linked to the hotel where you’re staying. If your room is at Disney Sequoia Lodge, you can’t order the Disneyland Hotel one: you get the box from your own hotel. So what’s inside, and how it’s packaged, varies from one hotel to the next.

One last thing to keep in mind: the box isn’t part of your room rate. It’s a separate purchase, paid in addition to your booking.

What’s inside changes with the hotel and the year, so here’s a recent example, just to give you an idea. A box can include:

• a holiday-themed tote bag
• a Santa hat
• four decorative Christmas ornaments
• a blanket
• a treat cookie
• a Disney or Marvel plush
• a wish letter

At Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, the box once included a customizable Marvel ornament signed by the glassmakers at Maison Arribas. It’s a good example of what sets one hotel apart from another: from year to year and hotel to hotel, the items and the way they’re presented change. To find out exactly what your hotel’s box holds, your safest bet is to ask its concierge desk.

The price depends on the hotel and on what the box contains. In the latest edition, it ranged from €149 at the most affordable hotels to €289 at the Disneyland Hotel. Here’s the breakdown, hotel by hotel.

Prices change every year. Which hotels take part changes too: in 2023, the box was only available at two hotels (Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel and Newport Bay Club), before the offer grew to seven. For help picking a hotel, check out my guide to choosing your Disney hotel.

Only guests with a Disney hotel stay during the Christmas season can buy one. You have two options:

ahead of your trip

phone your hotel’s concierge desk no later than 7 days before you check in and place your order

once you’re there

drop by the concierge desk during your stay and show your hotel pass (the MagicPass that hotel guests receive)

The boxes are sold during the Christmas season, usually from November to early January. The exact dates are set each year. Since supply is limited, order early if you have your heart set on one.
