At a glance

World of Frozen is the Frozen land at Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) in Disneyland Paris, at the back of the park on the edge of Adventure Bay lake.

The land is a life-size recreation of the kingdom of Arendelle, with Norwegian-inspired architecture. Its story is set between the events of Frozen and Frozen 2: peace has returned, and Queen Elsa has declared a snowy summer’s day for the people of the kingdom. Its highest point is the North Mountain, which rises to 40 metres (400 tonnes of metal covered in sculpted, hand-painted concrete) and houses Elsa’s Ice Palace. You will also find Arendelle Castle, Arendelle Harbour and its lighthouse, the Clock Tower, a fjord and a forest.

The land has one main ride, Frozen Ever After, a boat dark ride that revisits the film’s iconic songs, as well as A Celebration in Arendelle, a show on the water. For food, there is the Nordic Crowns Tavern plus kiosks, and the shops are Arendelle Boutique and Fjord View Shop. An indoor meet and greet area lets you meet the film’s heroes: Anna, Elsa, Olaf and their friends.

The land plays out as a recreation of the kingdom of Arendelle, carrying on from the film Frozen. You are invited to the Snowflower Festival, the kingdom’s most important tradition, in which Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and the villagers all take part.

The common thread is a village celebration: every part of the land (village, castle, fjord, mountains, shop) joins in, and each attraction extends a moment from the film (Frozen Ever After revisits the iconic songs, A Celebration in Arendelle brings the characters to life in a live show).

History

World of Frozen is a brand-new land, created as part of the Disney Adventure World rebrand and opened on 29 March 2026, with Frozen Ever After (a boat dark ride) and A Celebration in Arendelle, a show on the water.

It is the second immersive area of the €2 billion investment plan announced on 27 February 2018 by Bob Iger (then CEO of The Walt Disney Company) alongside President Emmanuel Macron, after Marvel Avengers Campus opened on 20 July 2022. Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, the land was built from 2021 to early 2026, as the Covid-19 pandemic delayed the expansion plan.

The land largely follows the concept of World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland (2023) and the Frozen Ever After ride, created for the Norway pavilion at Epcot (Orlando) in 2016.

Where the inspiration comes from

The land is inspired by World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland (20 November 2023), the world’s first Frozen land, and borrows the Frozen Ever After ride from Epcot in Orlando (2016). The Frozen section of Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea (2024) also shaped some aspects.

Pros and cons

Strong points

  • An architectural recreation of the kingdom of Arendelle, directly inspired by Norway
  • The 40-metre North Mountain, the park’s tallest visual landmark
  • Home to the Frozen Ever After ride
  • A strong fit with how popular Frozen is in Europe

Weak points

  • Only one ride at opening
  • A fairly small land
  • Only one restaurant
  • A ride copied from other Disney parks rather than an original
  • Opened years after the film came out

My verdict

Julie
Julie ★★★★½ 200+ visits since 2023

World of Frozen is a stunning, hugely immersive land. The ride is superb, and being able to meet both princesses, Anna and Elsa, really adds to the visit.

My first gripe: the land is a little narrow. Getting around isn’t always easy, especially at busy times.

My second, more personal: opening in 2026 comes years after the film came out, long after the peak of Frozen. I would have loved to see it arrive when Frozen fever was at its height.

Your questions about this land

01 What are the lands of Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) after the transformation?

Disney Adventure World, which replaces the former Walt Disney Studios Park, is now organised into 6 lands. World Premiere Plaza (2 attractions) is home to Tower of Terror, Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets Over Agrabah and the World Premiere hub. Avengers Campus (2 attractions) brings together Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. Worlds of Pixar (7 attractions) groups Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, RC Racer, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Cars ROAD TRIP, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop. World of Frozen (only one ride for now), which opened on 29 March 2026, is home to Frozen Ever After. Adventure Way (1 attraction) has Raiponce Tangled Spin.

02 What are the top rides at Disney Adventure World?

At Disney Adventure World, I have my favourite rides. Tower of Terror, at 63 metres, is the tallest ride in the whole of Disneyland Paris and guarantees big thrills. Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is still the fastest ride in the resort. Crush’s Coaster is a cult favourite but has the longest queues. Ratatouille is an immersive ride you shouldn’t miss. Frozen Ever After, in the new World of Frozen land that opened on 29 March 2026, is the big new ride you really must try. Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure completes the list of highlights at Avengers Campus.

03 When did World of Frozen open and what can you do there?

World of Frozen opened to the public on 29 March 2026 at Disney Adventure World, after previews for annual pass holders on 15, 18 and 23-25 March. Across 9,800 m², you can enjoy Frozen Ever After, an immersive water dark ride in the world of Anna and Elsa. The Nordic Crowns Tavern restaurant serves Nordic food. The show A Celebration in Arendelle takes place by the lake with an Audio-Animatronics Olaf. You can meet Anna and Elsa at dedicated spots. The land is towered over by a 36-metre snowy mountain and Elsa’s 13-metre ice palace with over 300 crystals.

04 How can you avoid long queues for the most popular rides?

To avoid long queues at Disneyland Paris, I combine several tactics. First, Single Rider is free and really speeds things up on the rides that offer it, including Crush’s Coaster, Flight Force, Ratatouille and Spider-Man, as long as you’re happy not to ride with your group. Next, Disney Premier Access is a paid service that gives you priority access to the headline rides. If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, Extra Magic Time lets you into the park before official opening, and it’s the best time to ride the popular attractions back to back without queuing. Finally, heading to the most popular rides during a parade or a big show empties the queues considerably.
