Worlds of Pixar: the land of Pixar’s worlds

Worlds of Pixar is the Disney Adventure World land rebranded under this name in 2021: Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Cars ROAD TRIP and the Toy Story Playland area with RC Racer, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop.

At a glance

Worlds of Pixar is the land devoted to the worlds of Pixar Animation Studios at Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park), Disneyland Paris, to the right of World Premiere Plaza.

The land is made up of several distinct themed areas inspired by Pixar films. La Place de Rémy recreates a Paris neighbourhood inspired by Ratatouille, with nods to the French capital. Toy Story Playland recreates Andy’s giant back garden, filled with oversized toys. A Route 66 section brings in the desert landscapes and the town of Radiator Springs from Cars. Finally, an ocean area recalls the world of Finding Nemo. The whole land is designed as a colourful, photogenic family experience packed with details from the films. Three photo spots were also added when the area was repositioned.

There are seven main rides. Ratatouille : L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy is a 4D ride in which visitors shrink to the size of a rat to race through the kitchens of Gusteau’s restaurant. Crush’s Coaster is a spinning rollercoaster alongside Crush the turtle. Cars Quatre Roues Rallye is a spinning ride set in Radiator Springs, and Cars ROAD TRIP is a bus trip through Route 66 scenery. In Toy Story Playland, three rides complete the line-up: RC Racer (big thrills in a remote-control car launched along a U-shaped track), Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin (a family ride with Slinky the dog) and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop (a drop tower recreating a green army men training exercise).

Dining centres on several Pixar-themed spots: the Bistrot Chez Rémy (which shrinks visitors to the size of a rat in an oversized setting), La Place de Rémy - Le Buffet (a Parisian buffet restaurant in the same world) and the Laugh’N’ Go! food truck, near Cars ROAD TRIP, for Toy Story-themed sandwiches and snacks. Four food outlets also sell exclusive snacks (Toy Story and Luca shortbread biscuits, Worlds of Pixar doughnuts and cupcakes, chocolate and hazelnut éclair at Bistrot Chez Rémy).

The main shops are Chez Marianne - Souvenirs de Paris, in the Parisian world of Ratatouille, and Barrel of Monkeys in Toy Story Playland, plus themed kiosks (Pixar soft toys, accessories and collectibles). You can also meet some Pixar characters in the area, including Lightning McQueen and the Incredibles.

The land is presented as a journey through the different Pixar worlds. Visitors change scale and world at every turn: they become a shrunken toy in Toy Story Playland, drive through Radiator Springs with the cars from Cars, head behind the scenes of Gusteau’s restaurant with Remy in Ratatouille, and dive into the world of Finding Nemo with Crush’s Coaster.

The common thread is a change of scale and identity: visitors take on the size and point of view of Pixar heroes in turn (toy, car, rat, turtle), an immersive approach that echoes the core of the animated films’ storytelling.

What makes it stand out

A land devoted entirely to Pixar. Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye and Cars ROAD TRIP sit alongside the Toy Story Playland area (RC Racer, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin, Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop). Nowhere else in the world brings together so many of the biggest Pixar films in one place.

History

The land was called Toon Studio when Walt Disney Studios opened on 16 March 2002. Crush’s Coaster and Cars Quatre Roues Rallye were added on 9 June 2007, Toy Story Playland opened as a separate area on 17 August 2010 and Ratatouille : L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy opened on 10 July 2014.

Cars ROAD TRIP replaced the Studio Tram Tour on 17 June 2021, and Toon Studio was renamed Worlds of Pixar on 27 August 2021. It was the first of the four areas completed in the park’s transformation, ahead of Marvel Avengers Campus (20 July 2022), then World of Frozen and Adventure Way (2026). When the land was renamed, three attractions temporarily stayed attached to the old Toon Studio: Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets Over Agrabah, the Animagique Theater and Animation Celebration.

Where the inspiration comes from

The land is inspired by Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure (2018) for its overall Pixar spirit, and by Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Shanghai Disneyland (2018) for its Toy Story Playland area.

My verdict

I love Worlds of Pixar, it’s probably my favourite land at Disney Adventure World. And for good reason: it’s home to my favourite Pixar film, Toy Story , so it couldn’t speak to me more.

I never tire of its rides: Ratatouille, Crush’s Coaster and above all Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, which I think is hugely underrated and honestly far better than the Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups at Disneyland Park.

It’s a land where I could ride again and again without noticing the time go by.

Your questions about this land

01 What are the lands of Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park) after the transformation?

Disney Adventure World, which replaces the former Walt Disney Studios Park, is now organised into 6 lands. World Premiere Plaza (2 attractions) is home to Tower of Terror, Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets Over Agrabah and the World Premiere hub. Avengers Campus (2 attractions) brings together Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. Worlds of Pixar (7 attractions) groups Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, RC Racer, Cars Quatre Roues Rallye, Cars ROAD TRIP, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop. World of Frozen (only one ride for now), which opened on 29 March 2026, is home to Frozen Ever After. Adventure Way (1 attraction) has Raiponce Tangled Spin.

02 What are the top rides at Disney Adventure World?

At Disney Adventure World, I have my favourite rides. Tower of Terror, at 63 metres, is the tallest ride in the whole of Disneyland Paris and guarantees big thrills. Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is still the fastest ride in the resort. Crush’s Coaster is a cult favourite but has the longest queues. Ratatouille is an immersive ride you shouldn’t miss. Frozen Ever After, in the new World of Frozen land that opened on 29 March 2026, is the big new ride you really must try. Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure completes the list of highlights at Avengers Campus.

03 How can you avoid long queues for the most popular rides?

To avoid long queues at Disneyland Paris, I combine several tactics. First, Single Rider is free and really speeds things up on the rides that offer it, including Crush’s Coaster, Flight Force, Ratatouille and Spider-Man, as long as you’re happy not to ride with your group. Next, Disney Premier Access is a paid service that gives you priority access to the headline rides. If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, Extra Magic Time lets you into the park before official opening, and it’s the best time to ride the popular attractions back to back without queuing. Finally, heading to the most popular rides during a parade or a big show empties the queues considerably.
