Mickey is the character families look for first. The good news is there are several ways to see him during your trip. But be careful not to mix things up: meeting Mickey (seeing him up close, having a photo, getting his autograph, giving him a hug) isn’t the same as simply seeing him go by in a parade or on stage.
In this guide, I keep the two clearly apart. First the proper meet and greets, then the places where you can catch a glimpse of him.
Where can you really meet Mickey at Disneyland Paris?
There are three ways to properly meet Mickey, with a photo and a hug: the main meet and greet in Disneyland Park (through a free virtual queue), the meeting spot in the second park, Disney Adventure World (regular queue) and character dining in some restaurants. I go through each one below.
The main meet and greet in Disneyland Park (Meet Mickey, virtual queue)
This is the fullest meet and greet: you step into a small set, Mickey welcomes you, you have a photo together and he can sign an autograph and give the children a hug. A PhotoPass photographer is there for the photo, as well as your own pictures.
What’s changed: you no longer just queue at the door. To meet Mickey in Disneyland Park, you now go through a free virtual queue, booked in the Disneyland Paris app once your ticket has been scanned at the entrance. You choose a slot, enjoy the park and the app lets you know when it’s your turn. It’s free: it isn’t paid Premier Access.
Slot bookings usually open at two points in the day (in the morning at park opening, then in the early afternoon). Book early, as places go quickly.
One important point: the location of this meet and greet can change depending on construction work in the park and Mickey sometimes wears a special outfit depending on the time of year. The simplest thing is to check the exact location for the day directly in the app.
The meeting spot in Adventure Way (Disney Adventure World)
In the second park, Disney Adventure World, you can also meet Mickey and here it’s simpler: the meet and greet uses a regular queue, with no booking and no app. You just queue as normal, then move forward when it’s your turn.
The meeting spot is in the Adventure Way land, at the far end of Worlds of Pixar, under its own bandstand. Mickey wears a Victorian outfit there, different from the one in Disneyland Park, and a PhotoPass photographer is on hand. It’s a good option if you don’t want to bother with the virtual queue, or if the Disneyland Park slots are already full.
Personally, I find this meet and greet more relaxed: you wait on the spot, without keeping an eye on your phone.
Meet Mickey at a restaurant
If you want to meet Mickey without queuing, character dining is a great choice. Here’s how it works: you book a meal, sit down at your table and Mickey (often with his friends) goes from table to table to say hello to each family, pose for a photo and sign an autograph.
You pay for it and need to book in advance, but you have Mickey all to yourself for a few minutes, with no jostling.
Here are the restaurants that offer it:
| Restaurant | Characters |
|---|---|
| Plaza Gardens Restaurant | Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Scrooge McDuck, Goofy, Pluto, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Pinocchio, Geppetto, Chip & Dale |
| Royal Banquet | Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Goofy and Pluto |
Restaurants where you can meet Mickey and his friends, updated automatically.

See Mickey without meeting him
In the following cases, you see Mickey but you don’t meet him: no close-up photo, no autograph, no hug. It’s worth knowing so you’re not disappointed, especially with children.
- The parade Mickey has his own float in Disney Stars on Parade. The time is fixed and the wait is short, but you see him go by from a distance, with no close-up photo or autograph.
- The Mickey and the Magician show In the second park, Disney Adventure World, Mickey is on stage in this show. You watch him perform, so it isn’t a meet and greet. The show can be paused at certain times of year, so check the day’s show times before heading over.
- At park opening or closing Mickey sometimes appears around Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Park at the start or end of the day. It isn’t guaranteed and it isn’t a real meeting spot: see it as a bonus if you’re lucky.

Frequently asked questions
01 Where can you meet Mickey at Disneyland Paris and is it free?
In Disneyland Park, the main meet and greet is booked for free through the virtual queue in the app (nothing to do with paid Premier Access). In Disney Adventure World, Mickey is waiting for you on Adventure Way (at the far end of Worlds of Pixar) in a regular queue, with no booking. The meet and greet is included in your ticket. Only character meals cost extra.
02 How does the virtual queue for meeting characters work?
Everything happens in the official app, once your ticket has been scanned at the park entrance (not possible before, and valid on the day only). You book a free time slot. Slots generally open in two waves (in the morning at opening time and in the early afternoon), sometimes a third in the late afternoon. Only one booking can be active at a time, with a limit of 6 people per slot and up to 5 meets in the day. Every member of the group, children included, must be counted.
