At a glance

The Royal Banquet is the all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel, the 5-star hotel at the entrance to the park at Disneyland Paris. It follows the royal, princely theme of the hotel, renovated in 2024.

The decor recalls a royal palace: ornate signs, crown and chandelier motifs, a red and gold RB heraldic monogram and several themed rooms. The five themed rooms follow the style of a royal palace.

It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet of contemporary cuisine, with starters, cold meats, seafood (shellfish in particular), meat, fish, vegetables, cheeses and a range of desserts. The meal is brought to life by Mickey, Minnie and friends, who come to your table in exclusive royal costumes (the line-up differs between lunch and dinner). They take time to greet diners, sign autographs and pose for photos. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Booking is very strongly recommended, often several weeks ahead.

What makes it stand out

A buffet with Mickey in royal costume. Mickey, Minnie and friends greet diners dressed as Disney princes and princesses, in costumes designed exclusively for this buffet. Five rooms themed on royal Disney worlds, with refined international food.

History

Opened on 25 January 2024 when the renovated Disneyland Hotel reopened, the Royal Banquet occupies the former space of Inventions, an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant that had been there since 12 April 1992.

The renovation turned the space into five themed rooms, each dedicated to a different royal Disney world. It’s the first royal character dining experience at Disneyland Paris.

My verdict

The Royal Banquet is the royal-themed all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel, where you meet Mickey and friends in royal costumes. Its strong point is this character meal in a palace setting, with outfits the characters wear nowhere else.

It’s one of my favourites at Disneyland Paris: meeting Mickey and friends alone justifies the slightly high price. Expect to pay around €100 per adult and €50 per child in this restaurant, open since 2024, with a varied buffet and characters in royal costumes. Two downsides: tables are very hard to get and the buffet is less well stocked at the end of service. So aim for an early slot to make the most of it.

I recommend it for families and Disney fans who want a buffet with royal meet and greets. Less suited if your priority is a cheap meal.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 Which restaurants offer character dining at Disneyland Paris?

Five restaurants offer character dining at Disneyland Paris. In Disneyland Park, there’s Plaza Gardens Restaurant on Main Street (all-you-can-eat buffet with Mickey, Minnie and Donald, currently closed for refurbishment until 2027) and Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland (table service with the Princesses). Since March 2026, Regal View Restaurant & Lounge has been open in Disney Adventure World with a Princess buffet. At the hotels, Royal Banquet and La Table de Lumière at the Disneyland Hotel also offer character dining: see the Hotels FAQ section for details.

02 How much does a character meal cost and how do you book one?

Character meals cost between €50 and €120 per adult, depending on the restaurant. Plaza Gardens is around €50-80 (closed for refurbishment until 2027), the Auberge de Cendrillon between €60 and €95, and the Regal View Restaurant is in the same range. At the hotels, the Royal Banquet costs around €100 per adult and La Table de Lumière €120. These prices come from the official Disneyland Paris website and may change. In particular, they’re higher during special events such as Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve. To book, use the official Disneyland Paris app, the Disneyland Paris website or call +33 1 60 30 40 50.

03 How do you book a table at a Disneyland Paris restaurant?

You have four ways to book. The easiest is the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), from your Disney account. You can also call the booking line on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50, use the official website via the Dining menu or book on site at City Hall, Studio Services or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you choose, I suggest downloading my free file by email, which brings together all the menus of the Disneyland Paris restaurants. It really helps you make up your mind.

04 How far in advance can you book a restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

It depends on how you’re visiting. If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed: a real advantage for the most popular restaurants like the Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day, without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can book in the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website or by phone on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book as soon as the window opens for character restaurants and for evenings at weekends or during French school holidays, otherwise the slots disappear fast.

05 Can you still get a table on the day without booking?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in queue" depending on the tables freed up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s reception desk and ask if there’s any room left. The mobile app also shows slots that open up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it regularly when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never need a booking. Tip: eating lunch at an off-peak time (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of finding a table without booking.
