Queuing for an hour with impatient children for a character hug is exactly what the Disneyland Paris virtual queue saves you from. This free system lets you book a meet and greet slot in the official app, without waiting on the spot. You book your slot, carry on enjoying the park and come back to the location shown at the right time.
Here you’ll find what it is, which characters are included, how to book step by step, the rules to know and my tips for getting a slot even when they go quickly.
What is the virtual queue?
The virtual queue is a free system that replaces queuing in person at a meeting spot. Instead of queuing, you book a slot in the Disneyland Paris app, then come back at the time shown. In the meantime, you’re free to enjoy the rides and the rest of the park.
Everything happens in the official app, at set times when the queue opens. Once your slot is booked, the app lets you know when your turn is coming up.
It really is a free service, not to be confused with Premier Access, which is paid and covers rides. The character virtual queue costs nothing: it’s included in your ticket.
On 18 April 2025, Disneyland Paris announced it would gradually extend this system to its best-known characters. Before that announcement, the virtual queue already existed for the Marvel Super Heroes, since Avengers Campus (Disney Adventure World) opened on 20 July 2022. So it’s the oldest meet and greet with a virtual queue.
Which meet and greets?
There are two lists to tell apart. On the one hand, the meet and greets with a virtual queue almost all year round (a stable list). On the other, the current meet and greets, which change with rotations and seasons. I cover both, because this is exactly what causes confusion from one website to another.
Meet and greets usually with a virtual queue
| Characters | Location | Themed land | Park | Since |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marvel Super Heroes | Hero Training Center | Avengers Campus | Disney Adventure World | 20 July 2022 |
| Mickey Mouse | Meet Mickey | Fantasyland | Disneyland Park | 2025 |
| Disney Princesses | Princess Pavilion | Fantasyland | Disneyland Park | 2025 |
| Elsa and Anna | A Royal Encounter with Elsa and Anna | World of Frozen | Disney Adventure World | 2026 |
Meet and greets with a virtual queue almost all year round.
Meet and greets with a virtual queue right now
Meet and greets with a virtual queue right now, updated automatically.
Why a stable list and a current list? Because a location can change with what’s new at the cinema. The "Animation Celebration" space (Disney Adventure World) sometimes hosts a meet and greet linked to a film release, for example the Zootropolis characters for Zootropolis 2 or the Toy Story characters for Toy Story 5. These meet and greets change as films come out, so there isn’t always one.
On top of that come seasonal meet and greets. For example, Jack Skellington and Sally move into Critter Corral (Frontierland) during the Halloween season, with a virtual queue.
To keep up with these changes, the "right now" list above updates live from the official Disney programme: it shows the meet and greets that have a virtual queue today, with their status. Still, check in the app, which remains the day-to-day reference.

Finding a character in the app
- Open the "Attractions" menu That’s the starting point from the app’s main screen.
- Switch to "Characters" This shows the meeting spots instead of the rides.
- Browse the map Find the character or location you’re interested in on the map.
- Tap "Join the queue" Then read the conditions shown before carrying on.
- Select through "Choose your experience" Choose the character you want, then confirm your slot.
- If "Select" is greyed out The queue is closed for now: you need to wait until it opens again.
The rules to know
- Booking in the park only You can only book once you’re there, after your ticket has been scanned at the entrance. Not from your hotel or before you go in.
- Valid on the day A booking is only valid for the current day.
- The whole group must be booked Include every person in your group in the booking, up to 6 people per slot.
- 1-day 1-park ticket You can only access the meet and greets in the park where your ticket was scanned.
- 1-day 2-park ticket You can book in either park, once your ticket has been scanned.
- No smartphone Ask a Cast Member in the meet and greet area, who can help you depending on availability.
- Only one active booking at a time You must have done or cancelled your current meet and greet before booking another.
- Not the same character twice You can’t book the same character two times in the same day.
- No more priority queue for disabled visitors As the physical queues have been removed, there’s no longer a priority queue for disabled visitors at these spots: everyone goes through the app.
My tips for getting a slot
My first rule: book as early as possible after your ticket has been scanned. Slots go quickly, especially for popular characters like Mickey or the princesses. As soon as you’re in, open the app and lock in your slot before heading off to the rides.
A few other habits that help me:
- Set an alarm on your phone a few minutes before slots open, so you don’t miss it.
- Keep an eye on what’s still available in my character meet and greet pages, which I keep up to date.
- If the stars are already full (Mickey, the princesses), fall back on the Marvel Super Heroes: they’re often much easier to get. The Star Wars characters, on the other hand, are met without booking at the Starport.
What time are the slots?
Be careful not to mix up two times: the time the queue opens in the app (when you can book) and the time of your slot (when the meet and greet happens). The table below gives a rough guide to the times of the meet and greets themselves.
These slots vary every day and aren’t guaranteed: what follows is a rough guide, not a promise. For the day’s details, everything is in the app.
| Type of characters | Usual time window |
|---|---|
| Princesses and classic Fantasyland characters | Often in the morning (around 10:00-12:00) and in the early afternoon |
| Marvel Super Heroes | Mostly in the afternoon (around 13:00-15:00) |
| Pixar, Toy Story and Adventureland characters | Mostly in the late afternoon (around 16:00-17:30) |
A rough guide to meet and greet times, to check in the app on the day of your visit.
If there are no slots left when you look, don’t give up. Disneyland Paris usually has several queue openings during the day: often one in the morning (often at 9:45) and one in the afternoon (often at 14:00). Sometimes there’s even an extra opening in the late afternoon (often around 17:30). These queue opening times are common but not guaranteed: always check in the app.

Frequently asked questions
01 How does the virtual queue for meeting characters work?
Everything happens in the official app, once your ticket has been scanned at the park entrance (not possible before, and valid on the day only). You book a free time slot. Slots generally open in two waves (in the morning at opening time and in the early afternoon), sometimes a third in the late afternoon. Only one booking can be active at a time, with a limit of 6 people per slot and up to 5 meets in the day. Every member of the group, children included, must be counted.
