Character dining at Disneyland Paris means characters (princesses or Mickey and friends) come to your table during your meal to say hello, pose for a photo and sign an autograph. Only a few restaurants offer it, booking is required and it costs more than a standard meal. In 2026, you can choose between four restaurants: Auberge de Cendrillon (Disneyland Park), The Regal View (Disney Adventure World), Royal Banquet and La Table de Lumière (Disneyland Hotel).
Plaza Gardens, long the go-to place to meet Mickey at the table, is closed for refurbishment until early 2027.
In short: on one side, the princess restaurants (Auberge de Cendrillon, The Regal View, La Table de Lumière), on the other, the Mickey and friends restaurant (Royal Banquet). I explain everything below, option by option and venue by venue, so you can make an informed choice.
What is character dining?
Here’s how it works. You book a table at a Disney restaurant that offers it, sit down, and while you eat, the characters go round the room and stop at every table. You have time for a quick chat, a photo and a signature in your autograph book, without having to queue.
It’s different from the meet and greets around the park. There, you wait in a queue for a few minutes with one character. At the table, the character comes to you, the moment is calmer and more personal, and you meet several of them over the course of the meal.
One thing to know before you book: you don’t choose which characters appear. Usually 4 to 6 characters visit the room, at random, and the line-up isn’t announced in advance. You know which group of characters you’ll meet (princesses or Mickey and friends), but not exactly who will be there on the day.
Buffet or table service? Breakfast, lunch or dinner?
Before choosing a restaurant, you need to understand two things: the format of the meal (buffet or table service) and the time of day (breakfast, lunch or dinner). Both change the atmosphere, the price and who the meal suits best.
All-you-can-eat buffet
You help yourself, as much as you like, from a counter laden with dishes. The price is fixed however much you eat. It’s sociable: you get up, move around and everyone fills their own plate. A practical format with children or big appetites, and ideal if you like to try a bit of everything.
Table service
You stay seated and the waiter brings your dishes to your table from a menu. It’s more relaxed, calmer and closer to a classic restaurant. A good format for a special occasion, a quiet meal or if you’d rather not get up while the characters are coming round.
As for the time of day, keep three simple words in mind:
Morning means breakfast. Often the calmest and most affordable option. A good idea if you’re travelling with young children or want to start the day gently before going into the park.
Midday means lunch. A break in the middle of the day, which splits up your visit and gives you a breather at the busiest times.
Evening means dinner. Usually the most substantial and most expensive meal, in a more relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for rounding off a day or marking a special occasion.
Character dining restaurants at Disneyland Paris
In Disneyland Park
Auberge de Cendrillon is the princess restaurant at Disneyland Park. It’s in Fantasyland, just behind the castle, and easy to spot thanks to Cinderella’s carriage at the entrance. Hands down my favourite table for meeting the princesses. Here, it’s first and foremost the princesses who welcome you. Since spring 2026, Mickey in his royal outfit has also joined breakfast at the Auberge (at lunch and dinner, it’s the princesses, not Mickey). To meet Mickey and friends at every meal, Royal Banquet (Disneyland Hotel) is still the safe bet.
- Type: table service (you’re served at your table)
- Character meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner, all three
- Characters: Cinderella, Perla, Suzy, Snow White, Aurora, Rapunzel, Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, Mulan, Tiana, Merida
- Theme: Princesses
- Access: you need a Disneyland Park ticket
- Price: Disneyland Pass discount accepted and included in the Extra Plus and Premium meal plans. Breakfast is the most affordable of the character meals.
As everywhere, 4 to 6 characters come to the tables at random: you’ll meet princesses, but not necessarily the whole list on the same day.
In Disney Adventure World
The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge is the new princess restaurant at Disney Adventure World (the second park), which arrived with the Frozen land in spring 2026. It’s on Adventure Way, on the shore of the Adventure Bay lake.
- Type: table service (set menu)
- Character meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner, all three
- Characters: Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine, Merida, Mulan, Belle (appear at random)
- Theme: Princesses
- Access: you need a Disney Adventure World ticket
- Price: Disneyland Pass discount accepted and included in the Extra Plus and Premium meal plans
It’s the resort’s second princess table, in the second park. The princesses appear at random: you’ll meet several of them, but not necessarily the same ones from one day to the next.
At the Disneyland Hotel
Royal Banquet is the restaurant for meeting Mickey and friends. It’s inside the Disneyland Hotel, at the entrance to Disneyland Park. Good to know: this restaurant is open to everyone, even without a park ticket.
- Type: all-you-can-eat buffet
- Character meals: lunch and dinner
- Characters: Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Goofy and Pluto
- Theme: Mickey and friends
- Access: open to everyone, no park ticket needed. Booking recommended
- Price: Disneyland Pass discount accepted and included in the Extra Plus and Premium meal plans
This is the one to go for if you want to see Mickey at the table without a hotel stay or a park ticket.
La Table de Lumière is the most premium restaurant for meeting the characters. It’s also inside the Disneyland Hotel and is for hotel guests only.
- Type: table service
- Character meals: dinner
- Characters: Tiana and Prince Naveen, Snow White and Prince Charming, Belle and Prince Adam, Ariel and Prince Eric, Aurora and Prince Phillip
- Theme: Princes and princesses
- Access: Disneyland Hotel guests only
- Price: Disneyland Pass discount accepted and included in the Extra Plus and Premium meal plans for hotel guests. It’s the most upmarket of the character meals.
What makes this table special: the characters come as prince and princess couples, something you won’t see anywhere else in the resort.
Auberge de Cendrillon
A French-inspired table-service restaurant themed on Cinderella, offering character dining with the Disney Princesses.
Royal Banquet
All-you-can-eat royal-themed buffet restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel, where you meet Mickey, Minnie and friends in exclusive royal costumes. Ideal for families and Disney fans.
La Table de Lumière
A fine-dining French restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel themed on Beauty and the Beast, with table service and a meal in the company of Disney royal characters, inspired by Versailles.
How much does character dining cost?
Character dining is a premium option: it costs more than a standard meal, because the character visits are included. In 2026, expect to pay €80 to €120 per adult and €40 to €60 per child, depending on the restaurant and the meal.
The price depends mainly on the format and the time of day. To give you an idea:
- Most affordable: Auberge de Cendrillon in the morning, at breakfast.
- Most premium: La Table de Lumière at the Disneyland Hotel, in the evening.
As a rule, breakfast is cheaper than dinner, and dinner is the most substantial meal, so it sits at the top of the price range.
Good to know if you want to keep the bill down: these restaurants accept the Disneyland Pass discount (depending on the terms of your pass) and are included in the Extra Plus and Premium meal plans (a supplement may apply on certain days, such as 24 and 31 December). For arrivals from 1 April 2027, only the new Royal option includes character lunches and dinners. It’s reserved for Disneyland Hotel guests. With the other options, you can still book them, but you pay the difference. I explain what’s changing in my guide to meal plans.

Captain Jack’s: not really character dining
How to book character dining
These restaurants are in high demand and book up fast. The golden rule: book as early as you can. Guests at a Disney hotel can book well in advance, while other visitors have a shorter window via the Disneyland Paris app.
I won’t go through every step and booking window here: you’ll find the full process in my guide on how to book a restaurant.

My tips to make the most of it
- Book early: these are the most sought-after tables in the resort, especially during French school holidays.
- Don’t count on a particular character: who appears is random, 4 to 6 characters come round and the line-up changes.
- To spend less, go for the morning: breakfast is often the calmest and most affordable meal.
- Remember the Disneyland Pass discount and the Extra Plus and Premium meal plans that include these meals.
- To see Mickey without a park ticket, Royal Banquet at the Disneyland Hotel is open to everyone.
- Have your camera and autograph book ready, and ask a Cast Member for a photo of the whole group.
Former character dining restaurants
A few tables that used to offer character meet and greets no longer do:
- Café Mickey (Disney Village)
- for a long time the go-to spot for character fans. Closed during the 2020 lockdowns, Café Mickey never reopened. Brasserie Rosalie took its place at the end of 2023.
- Inventions (Disneyland Hotel)
- the hotel’s former character buffet. It gave way to Royal Banquet when the hotel reopened on 25 January 2024, after its full refurbishment.
These places no longer exist or no longer have characters: no point looking for them when you book.

Frequently asked questions
01 Which restaurants offer character dining at Disneyland Paris in 2026?
In 2026, four restaurants offer a character meal: Auberge de Cendrillon (Disneyland Park, princesses, breakfast, lunch and dinner), The Regal View (Disney Adventure World, princesses, breakfast, lunch and dinner), Royal Banquet (Disneyland Hotel, Mickey and friends, lunch and dinner) and La Table de Lumière (Disneyland Hotel, for hotel guests only, dinner). Plaza Gardens is closed for renovation until early 2027 and no longer offers character meals.
02 Can I eat with the characters without a park ticket?
Yes, at Royal Banquet in the Disneyland Hotel, open to everyone even without a park ticket (booking recommended). The other restaurants require either a park ticket (Auberge de Cendrillon, The Regal View) or a stay at the Disneyland Hotel (La Table de Lumière).
03 Is a character meal expensive?
It’s a premium option, pricier than a standard meal. Allow from €80 to €120 per adult and from €40 to €60 per child, depending on the restaurant and the meal. Breakfast at Auberge de Cendrillon is the most affordable option, La Table de Lumière the most upmarket. These meals accept the Disneyland Pass discount and are included in the Extra Plus and Premium meal plans.
04 Is character dining a good idea with young children?
Yes, very much so. The characters take time to stop at every table, which kids love, and there are children’s menus. Breakfast is calmer and often ideal with toddlers. I’d book well in advance, especially in peak season: these meals are often fully booked several weeks ahead.
05 Do I need to book a restaurant in advance at Disneyland Paris?
Yes, for buffet restaurants and table-service restaurants, I strongly recommend it: tables go quickly, especially at weekends and in the school holidays. Quick-service restaurants and snack kiosks are walk-in, with no booking. Book as early as possible, up to 2 months ahead for a day visit and up to 1 year ahead if you’re staying at a Disney hotel.
