At a glance

Disney Cascade of Lights is the daily nighttime show at Disney Adventure World, performed once each night at park closing around Adventure Bay lake. Created by Disney Live Entertainment, it celebrates heroes, paying tribute to Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters, and to every guest watching as well.

Several worlds take turns in the story: Moana, Mulan, Up, Finding Nemo, Hercules, Zootopia, plus the Avengers. Along the way, the score revisits the iconic songs from these films, then peaks with "We Can Be Heroes," an original anthem composed for the show, alongside a fresh new version of "How Far I’ll Go."

The staging combines choreographed fountains, four water screens with projections, lasers, video mapping, pyrotechnics, lighting, aerial drones, and water drones, a technology never used before in a Disney nighttime show. The drones were specially modified to withstand moisture and the nearby pyrotechnic effects. Everything is carried by an orchestral soundtrack played by 90 musicians and recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. The show is designed to be seen from all 360° around the lake, and the Imagineering teams shaped the layout of the bay accordingly (changes in level, staggered viewpoints, wider open spaces).

Good to know. To shrink the carbon footprint, 100% electric boats tow the show’s floating structures into place.

What sets it apart

The first Disney nighttime show to combine aerial and water drones. The drones draw Disney silhouettes in the sky and on the surface of the lake at the same time. A 360-degree setup around Adventure Bay, with the same quality from every shore.

History

Until the park’s major overhaul, the central basin of the Adventure Way area didn’t exist. Big nighttime events had always been centered on the facade of Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or on Place des Stars. That makes Disney Cascade of Lights the first show staged on this new central water feature, launched on March 29, 2026 when Disney Adventure World officially came to be.

Led by Disney Live Entertainment, this production relies on the emerging technology of surface water drones, which trace geometric light paths across the water. These systems work alongside massive water walls and light projections on the nearby shores, creating a show arena that plays to guests on all 360 degrees.

Theme & world

Disney, Pixar, and Marvel all share the stage in Disney Cascade of Lights: Moana, Mulan, Hercules, Zootopia, Finding Nemo, Up, and the Avengers. With "We Can Be Heroes" as the backdrop, every franchise gets a dedicated scene on Adventure Bay lake, featuring its own music and shapes drawn by drones above and on the water.

My verdict

Julie
Julie ★★★★½ 200+ visits since 2023

It’s not my favorite nighttime show, but it’s still a very good evening show thanks to its incredible visual innovations. Using aerial and water equipment together adds a whole new dimension once night falls. This level of ambition confirms that the end-of-day shows are top-quality moments.

Crowds are naturally very heavy in the evening, though lighter than in Disneyland Park. My tip: since the show is designed in 360 degrees, don’t fixate on the classic center line. The side views are just as polished, with 4 identical water screens.

Map & getting there

The show takes place in Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park), around the central Adventure Bay lake, along Adventure Way. Guests gather all around the lake, on several levels of terraces with 360° visibility. There are several viewing areas: the free zone all around the lake, a paid premium viewing area facing Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, and an area for guests with reduced mobility to the left of World of Frozen, near the future land themed on The Lion King.

Note: the bridge to Arendelle, a swing bridge, closes in the evening to let the show’s setup boats through.

Your questions about this show

01 What is the nighttime show at Disney Adventure World?

The current nighttime show is Disney Cascade of Lights, performed on Adventure Bay lake. It runs about 17 minutes at park closing, with projections, fountains, drones, and pyrotechnics. I share the best spots around the lake in my dedicated article.

02 Paid premium viewing for the nighttime shows: what is it?

A reserved section nearer the show, sold through the Disneyland Paris app. Pricing varies by show and by date. Disney asks you to arrive 10 to 30 minutes ahead of showtime.

03 How far ahead should you stake out a spot for a parade or show?

Plan on 30 to 45 minutes when it’s quiet, and as much as 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes for the best spots when it’s busy. You’ll find details for each spot in my dedicated articles. If you buy paid access, just show up 10 to 30 minutes ahead.

04 Is it possible to watch both fireworks shows in one evening?

No, the two shows often happen at the same time (or slightly staggered), when each park closes. So you have to choose which one to see. With a 2-park ticket, decide ahead of time and get to the right park before the show starts.

05 Is the nighttime show loud?

The fireworks noise stays very limited and usually doesn’t bother people who are sensitive to that kind of sound. The music, on the other hand, can be a bit loud, especially for babies and young children. For them, I recommend noise-canceling headphones or ear protection.
