Crockett’s Tavern: a big buffet, trapper style

A hearty family buffet hidden in the Davy Crockett woodland estate: meats roasted on the spit, dishes cooked over a wood fire, and rustic American sides, all served in big old-style lumberjack halls.

At a glance

Crockett’s Tavern is the main restaurant at Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch, a cabin resort set in the woods away from the Disneyland Paris parks. It’s modeled on a wooden tavern once run by Davy Crockett’s father, in the spirit of America’s westward expansion.

Inside, wood paneling, stone, and warm colors set the scene, along with references to the woods, hunting, and trapper life. Rustic wooden tables and comfy chairs complete the look. You’ll find it close to the pool and the resort’s other facilities.

It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet of international food with a Tex-Mex twist: grilled meats and fish, ribs, chicken, chili, dishes in sauce, vegetarian lasagna, pasta, fries, roasted potatoes, and vegetables, along with a wide choice of appetizers, salads, and desserts. There’s also a kids’ buffet. It’s open for dinner only, and Cast Members (Disney employees) greet you at the door. Both Ranch guests and outside visitors can eat here with a reservation, and there are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly options.

In summer, the restaurant also offers a barbecue.

What sets it apart

A rotisserie meat buffet. This forest-style restaurant at Davy Crockett Ranch serves a large all-you-can-eat buffet centered on American specialties. Every evening, the cooks prepare spit-roasted cuts of meat and a variety of grilled dishes right in front of you. Big rough-wood tables welcome families in a calm setting.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Also look at the menu before you go, so you’ll know right away whether this restaurant appeals to you and won’t waste time once you’re there.

History

Crockett’s Tavern opened in April 1992 and is the only buffet restaurant at Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch.

Set in the middle of the forest village, the dining room is themed as an old trappers’ trading post. Its pioneer fixtures and stone fireplaces have stayed untouched since it first opened to the public.

My verdict

Crockett’s Tavern is the all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant at Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch, set in a rustic Wild West tavern. What makes it stand out is the family buffet in a friendly, quiet, woodsy atmosphere.

I’ve eaten here, and the all-you-can-eat barbecue served in summer at this restaurant, open since 1992, is really great. Plan on around €35 per adult and €20 per child for a kid-friendly buffet in a cozy tavern setting. Two drawbacks: the Ranch is very far from the parks and only reachable by car, and breakfast isn’t served here. The atmosphere stays relaxed and pleasant.

For a relaxed buffet dinner with the family at the Ranch, I recommend it. If you’re staying close to the parks and don’t have a car, it’s not the best fit.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 How can I reserve a table at one of the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

There are four ways to book. The easiest is still the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), signed in to your Disney account. You can also call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50, use the official website through the Dining menu, or book in person at City Hall, Studio Services, or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you decide, I suggest you download my free file by email, which gathers every Disneyland Paris restaurant menu in one place. It makes choosing so much easier.

02 How early can I make a Disneyland Paris restaurant reservation?

The booking window depends on where you’re staying. If you’re at a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed. That’s a real advantage for very popular restaurants like Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can reserve through the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website, or by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book the moment the window opens for character dining and for weekend evenings or French school vacation evenings, or the time slots go fast.

03 Is it still possible to get a table the same day with no reservation?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in line" depending on the seats that open up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s host stand and ask whether they have room. The app also shows time slots as they free up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it often when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never require a reservation. Tip: eating lunch at off-peak times (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of getting a table without a reservation.

04 How do you cancel a Disney restaurant reservation?

Canceling is easy in the official Disneyland Paris app. Go to "Account > My dining reservations", pick the reservation you want, and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. Cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a spot for other guests and it’s a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of people in your party directly in the app. If you need a change, you have two options: cancel and make a new reservation (if time slots are still open), or call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50.

05 When I book, can I request a high chair or a birthday cake, or say I’m using a meal plan?

Yes. When you book (app, phone, or website), you’ll find a "Special Request" field where you can make several requests. You can ask for a high chair for your baby, a birthday cake (at an extra charge), mention a food intolerance or allergy, or let them know you want to use your half-board meal plan. For the birthday cake, I suggest asking right when you book to be sure one is available. If you didn’t, you can also ask when you arrive at the restaurant, and they’ll try to work something out depending on what they have that day.
