At a glance

Captain’s Quarters is the bar at Disney’s Newport Bay Club, at Disneyland Paris. It follows the hotel’s nautical theme and calls to mind regattas, yachts, and long sea voyages.

The decor mixes warm woodwork, model sailboats in display cases, framed pennants, a portrait of the captain, and maritime decorations, for a hushed, elegant feel.

The menu offers signature cocktails inspired by a captain’s ports of call, classic cocktails, mocktails, a hot cocktail, and a selection of draft and bottled beers, wines, champagnes, and spirits. For food, cold sandwiches, a seafood platter to share, a Veggie Bowl, a salad, and desserts are served until 22:30, and a "Captain’s Combo" pairs a sandwich with a drink. Cast Members (Disney employees) provide table service, and the bar stays open late into the evening.

What sets it apart

A wood-paneled lounge full of racing yachts. This elegant bar at Disney Newport Bay Club features gorgeous dark woodwork and plenty of model regatta boats. You settle into big, comfortable leather armchairs to sip creative cocktails or fine spirits. The calm atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed chat in the evening after a day in the parks.

History

Captain’s Quarters opened in 1998, a few years after Disney’s Newport Bay Club first welcomed guests (in 1992), to give the hotel more places to unwind.

It’s the hotel’s only large indoor bar. The space has a strong nautical theme designed to feel like the inside of a luxury yacht, with mahogany paneling, regatta trophies, and antique compasses.

My verdict

Captain’s Quarters is a nautical lounge bar at Disney’s Newport Bay Club, inspired by regattas and yachts. What makes it stand out is the wood-paneled seafaring decor and the fact that it stays open late.

I haven’t tried this restaurant yet. My take is based on my own research and on what I’ve heard from people I know and from Disney fans. Open since 1998, it serves signature cocktails, snacks, and sandwiches for around €14, in a cozy nautical atmosphere. Reviews describe a pleasant setting that isn’t great for young kids, and a location that’s a long way from the park. It’s a place for hotel guests to stop by at the end of the day.

I’d recommend it for a late drink in a seafaring setting. It’s less suited to families with young kids or to a proper dinner.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 Where can you find cheap eats in the Disneyland Paris parks?

To keep costs down, stick to the quick-service counters rated €. Casey’s Corner serves hot dogs on Main Street, Café Hyperion offers burgers and nuggets in Discoveryland, Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost has pizza by the slice in Adventureland, and Cowboy Cookout Barbecue in Frontierland is still a good deal. Over at Disney Adventure World, Stark Factory and Super Diner remain affordable. Tip: Mobile Order in the app also lets you order at some counters without waiting in line. And for a little snack, a waffle, churros, or ice cream for €5-10 hits the spot.

02 Do Disney restaurants have kids’ menus?

Yes, nearly every Disneyland Paris restaurant has a child price (ages 3-11). At the all-you-can-eat buffets, kids pay about half price: €25 at Agrabah Café, €25 at Cape Cod, €20 at La Cantina. Classic table-service restaurants also have a kids’ menu with a kid-friendly appetizer, main course, and dessert. At the quick-service counters, you’ll find kids’ menus that include a drink and a dessert. You can ask for a high chair when you book, using the "special request" field.

03 Are there vegetarian and vegan options at Disneyland Paris restaurants?

Yes, a growing number of Disneyland Paris restaurants have vegetarian and vegan choices. In Frontierland, Lucky Nugget Saloon offers an entirely vegan menu, and over in Fantasyland, Toad Hall Restaurant serves breaded plant-based crispy bites that are very good. Most of the other table-service restaurants and buffets list at least one vegetarian dish. Simple buffets such as Agrabah Café or Cape Cod have meatless options too. For the full picture, get my free file by email, which gathers the menus of every Disneyland Paris restaurant: you can check the veggie options ahead of your visit.

04 Where should you go for an afternoon treat or a small bite in the parks?

The parks are packed with kiosks and snack stands for when hunger strikes. On the sweet side, there’s Cookie Kitchen on Main Street U.S.A., March Hare Refreshments in Fantasyland, waffle and churro stands all over, and roaming popcorn and ice cream carts. On the savory side, the hot dogs at Casey’s Corner. Plan on €5-10 per snack. Quick tip: some stands sell reusable collectible popcorn buckets that make fun souvenirs and get you discounted refills all day long.

05 What is the Disneyland Paris half-board meal plan, and who can get it?

The Disneyland Paris half-board meal plan is a prepaid dining package that includes the breakfast buffet at your Disney hotel plus one or more meals at a participating restaurant. It’s only for guests staying at an official Disney hotel: you can’t add it if you’re visiting for the day. There are actually four plans: Standard, Plus, Extra Plus, and Premium, each covering a different set of restaurants at a different price. Extra Plus is in fact a full-board meal plan (two meals a day), not just half board. The main benefit: you set your dining budget ahead of time and enjoy your trip with no surprises when the check arrives. For arrivals from April 1, 2027, Disney is replacing these four plans with Essential, Extra, Signature, and Royal. I break down what’s changing in my guide to the meal plans.
