Celebrating a birthday at Disneyland Paris comes down to two things. First, free touches: a birthday badge with your first name, a sticker and a phone call from Mickey. Then, paid extras: a cake served in a restaurant and hotel add-ons.
The most useful step costs nothing: mention the birthday when you book your Disney hotel. That’s what triggers the little surprises in your room.

The free perks
The birthday badge
The birthday badge is free. Just ask for one, on the day or before, at City Hall (Disneyland Park), at Studio Services (the guest services desk at Disney Adventure World) or at your Disney hotel’s concierge desk.
It’s a pin-on badge that can be personalised with your first name. Cast Members and other visitors spot it and wish you a happy birthday all day long. It’s for all ages, adults included.
The birthday sticker
The sticker does the same job as the badge: it shows it’s your birthday so staff can wish you a happy birthday. It’s free and you ask for it in the same places. Depending on stock, you may be offered it instead of the badge.
The phone call from Mickey
Ask at City Hall and Mickey will call to wish the birthday boy or girl a happy birthday. The service is free and available in several languages. A lovely moment for kids. It’s best to ask, as it depends on availability that day.
Surprises at Disney hotels
If you’re staying at a Disney hotel and mention the birthday when you book, the hotel may leave a few surprises in your room: chocolate coins, a small soft toy, sometimes a little something extra.
These touches are at the hotel’s discretion and aren’t guaranteed. If you booked online or through a flash sale, call the hotel in advance to let them know.
The paid options
Birthday cake in a restaurant: prices and sizes
Allow around €25 for a small cake (about 2 people) and around €45 for a large one (about 6 people). You order the cake as a dessert in Disney buffet and table-service restaurants. It arrives with its candles, and the Cast Members come over to sing.
Order it in advance, when you book your stay, through the booking centre or when you reserve your table: supplies are limited.

Hotel extras and packages
On top of the free touches, the hotels offer paid extras to personalise your stay, such as flowers in the room or a soft toy left on the bed. What’s on offer varies by hotel, and you book it by phone with a quote, either when you book your stay or afterwards. Compare the offers on the pages for the Disney hotels.
My tips
- Mention the birthday as soon as you book your Disney hotel (that’s what triggers the surprises in your room).
- Book or order the cake in advance: supplies are limited.
- Keep proof to hand: it’s sometimes asked for when you collect the badge.
- If you’re not buying the Disney cake, bring a candle and a wrapped present.
- Combine the birthday with a character meet and greet and leave with the photo.

Frequently asked questions
01 Is the birthday badge free?
Yes. The birthday badge is free and can be personalised with your first name. The sticker is free too. Both are available to all ages, adults included.
02 Where do you get the birthday badge?
Just ask at City Hall (Disneyland Park), at Studio Services (the guest services desk in Disney Adventure World) or at your Disney hotel’s concierge. The hotel concierge is often the most reliable option when the parks have run out of badges.
03 Is entry free on your birthday at Disneyland Paris?
No, Disneyland Paris doesn’t offer free entry on your birthday. That rumour comes from other parks around the world. However, the birthday badge, the sticker and the call from Mickey are free: just ask at City Hall.
04 How much does the birthday cake cost?
Allow around €25 for a small size (about 2 people) and around €45 for a large size (about 6 people), in buffet or table-service restaurants. Order it in advance, as numbers are limited.
05 Does Mickey really call for your birthday?
Yes, if you ask at City Hall. The call is free and available in several languages, depending on availability that day.
06 Is entry free for under-3s?
Yes, entry to both parks is free for under-3s, with age counted on the date of your visit, and no ticket or paperwork needed. Make sure you can prove their age in case of a check. From 3 to 11 inclusive, it’s the child price, then the adult price from age 12.
