At a glance

Walt’s - An American Restaurant is a table-service restaurant on Main Street U.S.A., in Disneyland Park. It pays tribute to the life and career of Walt Disney, as its fictional address shows: "1401 Flower Street" refers to the address of Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California.

Outside, it has an elegant beige Victorian facade with a turret, carved balconies, green awnings, a gold oval sign, and richly ornate architecture. Inside, spread over two levels, several themed dining rooms recall Walt Disney’s world and the spirit of the park’s lands, with decorative touches such as a telescope on a tripod, crystal chandeliers, wall murals, dark wood furniture, red seats, and heavy drapes.

The menu offers polished American food, with classic dishes given a new twist (such as chicken pot pie) and more creative plates. A reservation is recommended.

What sets it apart

A front-row view of the parade. Set one floor up in an elegant Main Street U.S.A. townhouse, this upscale restaurant has six themed rooms dedicated to the lands of the park. Its windows give you a one-of-a-kind view of the floats in the daily parade. The menu features refined American food as a tribute to Walt Disney.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Also look at the menu before you go, so you’ll know right away whether this restaurant appeals to you and won’t waste time once you’re there.

History

Opened on April 12, 1992, Walt’s - an American Restaurant is a direct tribute to the company’s founder. Every upstairs room was designed to represent one of the park’s original lands.

This Main Street, U.S.A. restaurant hasn’t changed its theme at all since it opened. After a long closure during the health crisis of the 2020s, the historic restaurant reopened with its heritage concept untouched.

My verdict

Walt’s - an American restaurant is a full-service restaurant on Main Street U.S.A. that honors Walt Disney through several themed dining rooms. Its strength is a setting full of history, with a view of Main Street and the parade.

Hands down my favorite restaurant at Disneyland Paris. Each room is decorated after a different land, and I love it! Mementos of Walt and of the Disneyland world are scattered everywhere, so you feel fully immersed. I’ve eaten here several times, and it’s close to my heart for its history, its more or less hidden details, and its atmosphere. Plan on around €55 per adult and €30 per child at this restaurant, open since 1992. My tip is to book a table for the time of the parade and to ask for a table upstairs on the Main Street side. The only real drawback: the room fills up fast at peak times, so book early.

I recommend it without hesitation for a polished, immersive meal with a view of the parade. It’s less suited to a quick meal or a tight budget.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 How can I reserve a table at one of the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

There are four ways to book. The easiest is still the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), signed in to your Disney account. You can also call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50, use the official website through the Dining menu, or book in person at City Hall, Studio Services, or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you decide, I suggest you download my free file by email, which gathers every Disneyland Paris restaurant menu in one place. It makes choosing so much easier.

02 How early can I make a Disneyland Paris restaurant reservation?

The booking window depends on where you’re staying. If you’re at a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed. That’s a real advantage for very popular restaurants like Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can reserve through the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website, or by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book the moment the window opens for character dining and for weekend evenings or French school vacation evenings, or the time slots go fast.

03 Is it still possible to get a table the same day with no reservation?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in line" depending on the seats that open up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s host stand and ask whether they have room. The app also shows time slots as they free up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it often when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never require a reservation. Tip: eating lunch at off-peak times (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of getting a table without a reservation.

04 How do you cancel a Disney restaurant reservation?

Canceling is easy in the official Disneyland Paris app. Go to "Account > My dining reservations", pick the reservation you want, and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. Cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a spot for other guests and it’s a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of people in your party directly in the app. If you need a change, you have two options: cancel and make a new reservation (if time slots are still open), or call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50.

05 When I book, can I request a high chair or a birthday cake, or say I’m using a meal plan?

Yes. When you book (app, phone, or website), you’ll find a "Special Request" field where you can make several requests. You can ask for a high chair for your baby, a birthday cake (at an extra charge), mention a food intolerance or allergy, or let them know you want to use your half-board meal plan. For the birthday cake, I suggest asking right when you book to be sure one is available. If you didn’t, you can also ask when you arrive at the restaurant, and they’ll try to work something out depending on what they have that day.
