The Steakhouse: grilled meats, 1950 Chicago style

An upscale steak restaurant themed on Chicago’s old stockyards: grilled cuts of beef, spare ribs, and hearty burgers served in big leather armchairs with a retro industrial look.

At a glance

The Steakhouse is a themed restaurant in Disney Village, next to Starbucks Coffee and across from Disney Style. The decor suggests an old meatpacking warehouse turned into an upscale restaurant, themed on Chicago in the 1950s: a huge dining room that can seat several hundred people, large lettering on the walls, portraits of Americans, and jazz in the background. An American-style bar adjoins the dining room, and a covered terrace is open when the weather is nice.

The menu centers on meats and grilled dishes.

Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and during French school vacation.

What sets it apart

The jazz vibe of 1950 Chicago. This large table-service restaurant in Disney Village takes its cue from America’s old stockyards. The red-brick dining rooms display portraits of musicians and play jazz-style music. The menu leans on thick cuts of red meat, grilled beef, and hearty burgers for dinner.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Also look at the menu before you go, so you’ll know right away whether this restaurant appeals to you and won’t waste time once you’re there.

History

The Steakhouse opened on April 12, 1992, under the name The Steakhouse, and it’s one of the original restaurants of Festival Disney (the former name of Disney Village).

The idea from day one was to bring back the mood of a 1950s Chicago meat warehouse. Decades later, nothing has changed: same industrial red-brick walls, same lofty ceiling, same chunky wood paneling.

My verdict

Julie ★★★★½ 200+ visits since 2023

The Steakhouse is a full-service restaurant in Disney Village with a ’50s Chicago theme and a focus on meat. What makes it stand out is the carefully detailed, immersive decor and the wide choice of quality grilled dishes.

It’s one of my favorite places to eat at Disneyland Paris. Too many visitors walk right past it because the front is small and set back, but it’s really very good if you love meat. Plan on around €42 per adult and €25 per child at this spot, open since 1992, with an Angus rib steak as the star dish and even some vegetarian options. The jazz atmosphere and the bar next door are a bonus. The downsides: high à la carte prices and a noisy room on busy nights.

A good pick for meat lovers looking for a nice dinner in the Village. Less suited if you’re on a tight budget or want to avoid noise.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 How can I reserve a table at one of the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

There are four ways to book. The easiest is still the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), signed in to your Disney account. You can also call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50, use the official website through the Dining menu, or book in person at City Hall, Studio Services, or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you decide, I suggest you download my free file by email, which gathers every Disneyland Paris restaurant menu in one place. It makes choosing so much easier.

02 How early can I make a Disneyland Paris restaurant reservation?

The booking window depends on where you’re staying. If you’re at a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed. That’s a real advantage for very popular restaurants like Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can reserve through the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website, or by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book the moment the window opens for character dining and for weekend evenings or French school vacation evenings, or the time slots go fast.

03 Is it still possible to get a table the same day with no reservation?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in line" depending on the seats that open up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s host stand and ask whether they have room. The app also shows time slots as they free up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it often when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never require a reservation. Tip: eating lunch at off-peak times (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of getting a table without a reservation.

04 How do you cancel a Disney restaurant reservation?

Canceling is easy in the official Disneyland Paris app. Go to "Account > My dining reservations", pick the reservation you want, and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. Cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a spot for other guests and it’s a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of people in your party directly in the app. If you need a change, you have two options: cancel and make a new reservation (if time slots are still open), or call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50.

05 Which restaurants can you go to at Disney Village without a park ticket?

No park ticket is needed: Disney Village is open to everyone, and that includes its restaurants, roughly fifteen of them. If you want to sit down and be served, there’s Rosalie and Petite Rosalie (a French brasserie), The Steakhouse (Chicago-style grill), and The Royal Pub (British dishes). Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon and La Grange at Billy Bob’s offer Tex-Mex buffets with a show-style atmosphere. Sports Bar is the relaxed option, while Rainforest Café plays up its jungle theme. Need something fast? McDonald’s, Earl of Sandwich, Five Guys, Starbucks Coffee, and Vapiano have you covered. Keep in mind that two places are off the list for now: Annette’s Diner shut for renovation in January 2026 (it should be back around 2027), and Casa Giulia, a new Italian restaurant where Planet Hollywood used to be, opens in late 2026. At Rosalie and The Steakhouse, reserve in advance, especially for dinner.
