The Steakhouse: grilled meats 1950s Chicago style

Disneyland Paris’s upmarket steak restaurant, themed on Chicago’s old meatpacking warehouses: grilled cuts of beef, spare ribs and indulgent burgers served in big leather armchairs with a retro industrial look.

At a glance

The Steakhouse is a themed restaurant in Disney Village, next to Starbucks Coffee and opposite Disney Style. The decor recalls an old meatpacking warehouse turned into a smart restaurant, themed on Chicago in the 1950s: a vast dining room that can seat several hundred people, large wall lettering, portraits of Americans and jazz in the background. An American bar adjoins the dining room and a covered terrace opens when the weather is nice.

The menu centres on meat and grills.

Booking is recommended, especially at weekends and during French school holidays.

What makes it stand out

A 1950s Chicago jazz atmosphere. This large table-service restaurant in Disney Village takes its inspiration from old American meatpacking warehouses. The red-brick dining rooms are hung with portraits of musicians and play jazz-style music. The menu is all about thick-cut red meat, grilled cuts of beef and indulgent burgers for dinner.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Have a look at the menu before you go too, you’ll know straight away whether this restaurant suits you and you won’t waste time on the spot.

History

Opened on 12 April 1992 as The Steakhouse, this steak restaurant is one of the original venues of Festival Disney (Disney Village’s former name).

It was designed to recreate the feel of Chicago’s meatpacking warehouses in the 1950s. Its red-brick industrial architecture, high ceiling and solid wood panelling have stayed the same over the decades.

My verdict

Julie ★★★★½ 200+ visits since 2023

The Steakhouse is a full table-service restaurant in Disney Village, themed on ’50s Chicago and specialising in meat. Its strengths are the carefully crafted, immersive decor and the wide selection of quality grills.

It’s one of my favourites at Disneyland Paris: too many visitors walk straight past because of its small, set-back frontage, but it’s really very good if you love meat. Allow around €42 per adult and €25 per child in this restaurant, open since 1992, with Angus rib of beef as the star dish and even vegetarian options. The jazz atmosphere and the adjoining bar are a bonus. The downside: high à la carte prices and a noisy room on busy evenings.

I recommend it for meat lovers looking for a nice dinner in the Village. Less suited to a tight budget or if you can’t stand noise.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 How do you book a table at a Disneyland Paris restaurant?

You have four ways to book. The easiest is the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), from your Disney account. You can also call the booking line on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50, use the official website via the Dining menu or book on site at City Hall, Studio Services or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you choose, I suggest downloading my free file by email, which brings together all the menus of the Disneyland Paris restaurants. It really helps you make up your mind.

02 How far in advance can you book a restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

It depends on how you’re visiting. If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed: a real advantage for the most popular restaurants like the Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day, without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can book in the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website or by phone on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book as soon as the window opens for character restaurants and for evenings at weekends or during French school holidays, otherwise the slots disappear fast.

03 Can you still get a table on the day without booking?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in queue" depending on the tables freed up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s reception desk and ask if there’s any room left. The mobile app also shows slots that open up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it regularly when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never need a booking. Tip: eating lunch at an off-peak time (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of finding a table without booking.

04 How do I cancel a Disneyland Paris restaurant booking?

You can cancel easily in the official Disneyland Paris mobile app. Go to "Account > My table reservations", select the booking and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50. Remember to cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a table for other visitors and is a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of diners directly in the app. If you need to change it, you have two options: cancel and make a new booking (if slots are still available), or call the reservations centre on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50.

05 Which Disney Village restaurants can you eat at without a park ticket?

Disney Village is free to enter, so you don’t need a park ticket to eat there. You’ll find around fifteen restaurants. For table service: Rosalie and Petite Rosalie (French brasserie), The Steakhouse (Chicago-style grilled meats) and The Royal Pub (British food). For a lively meal: Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon and La Grange at Billy Bob’s (Tex-Mex buffets). Sports Bar for a relaxed vibe and Rainforest Café for its themed jungle setting. For quick service: McDonald’s, Earl of Sandwich, Five Guys, Starbucks Coffee and Vapiano round off the choice. Two places aren’t available at the moment. Annette’s Diner has been closed for refurbishment since January 2026 (reopening expected around 2027). The Italian restaurant Casa Giulia, on the site of the former Planet Hollywood, will open in late 2026. Book ahead for Rosalie and The Steakhouse, especially in the evening.
