At a glance

Set at the gates of Disneyland Park, the 5-star Disneyland Hotel is home to Royal Banquet, its all-you-can-eat buffet. This Disneyland Paris restaurant fits the royal, princess-inspired theme the hotel was given when it was renovated in 2024.

The decor evokes a royal palace: ornate signs, crown and chandelier motifs, a red and gold heraldic RB monogram, and several themed rooms. The five themed dining rooms borrow the look of a royal palace.

The buffet offers all-you-can-eat contemporary cuisine, including appetizers, charcuterie, seafood (shellfish in particular), meat, fish, vegetables, cheeses, and a variety of desserts. The meal comes alive with tableside visits from Mickey, Minnie, and their friends in exclusive royal costumes (the lineup differs between lunch and dinner): they take time to greet diners, sign autographs, and pose for photos. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Booking ahead is strongly recommended, and tables are often reserved several weeks in advance.

What sets it apart

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Also look at the menu before you go, so you’ll know right away whether this restaurant appeals to you and won’t waste time once you’re there.

History

Opened on January 25, 2024, when the renovated Disneyland Hotel reopened, Royal Banquet took over the former space of Inventions, an all-you-can-eat buffet that had been there since April 12, 1992.

The renovation turned the space into five themed dining rooms, each devoted to a different royal Disney world. It’s the first royal character dining experience (a meal with Disney characters) at Disneyland Paris.

My verdict

Royal Banquet is the all-you-can-eat royal-themed buffet at the Disneyland Hotel, where you meet Mickey and his friends in royal costumes. What makes it special is this meal-plus-meet-and-greet in a palace setting, with outfits the characters wear only here.

It’s one of my favorites at Disneyland Paris: meeting Mickey and his friends is enough on its own to justify the somewhat high price. Expect to pay around €100 per adult and €50 per child at this restaurant, which opened in 2024, with a varied buffet and characters in royal costumes. Two drawbacks: reservations are very hard to get, and the buffet is less well stocked toward the end of service. So aim for an early time slot to make the most of it.

I’d recommend it for families and Disney fans who want a buffet with royal character meet and greets. It’s less suited to you if a low-cost meal is your top priority.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 Which restaurants at Disneyland Paris let you dine with Disney characters?

Five restaurants at Disneyland Paris offer character meet and greets. In Disneyland Park, there’s Plaza Gardens Restaurant on Main Street (all-you-can-eat buffet with Mickey, Minnie, and Donald, currently closed for renovation until 2027) and the Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland (table service with the Princesses). Since March 2026, Regal View Restaurant & Lounge has been open in Disney Adventure World, with a Princess buffet. At the hotels, Royal Banquet and La Table de Lumière at the Disneyland Hotel also offer meet and greets. For the details, check the Hotels section of the FAQ.

02 What does a character meal cost, and how can you reserve it?

Character meals cost between €50 and €120 per adult, depending on the restaurant. Plaza Gardens is around €50-80 (closed for renovation until 2027), the Auberge de Cendrillon runs between €60 and €95, and Regal View Restaurant falls in the same range. At the hotels, Royal Banquet costs about €100 per adult and La Table de Lumière €120. These prices come from the official Disneyland Paris website and may change. In particular, they go up during special events like Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve. To book, use the official mobile app or the Disneyland Paris website, or call +33 1 60 30 40 50.

03 How can I reserve a table at one of the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

There are four ways to book. The easiest is still the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), signed in to your Disney account. You can also call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50, use the official website through the Dining menu, or book in person at City Hall, Studio Services, or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you decide, I suggest you download my free file by email, which gathers every Disneyland Paris restaurant menu in one place. It makes choosing so much easier.

04 How early can I make a Disneyland Paris restaurant reservation?

The booking window depends on where you’re staying. If you’re at a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed. That’s a real advantage for very popular restaurants like Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can reserve through the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website, or by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book the moment the window opens for character dining and for weekend evenings or French school vacation evenings, or the time slots go fast.

05 Is it still possible to get a table the same day with no reservation?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in line" depending on the seats that open up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s host stand and ask whether they have room. The app also shows time slots as they free up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it often when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never require a reservation. Tip: eating lunch at off-peak times (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of getting a table without a reservation.
