At a glance

Manhattan Restaurant is the table-service restaurant at Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, the 4-star hotel devoted entirely to the Marvel world. It aims for a refined, mostly Italian dining experience modeled on New York’s great restaurants.

You walk in through an elegant hallway with hanging light fixtures and geometric-patterned carpets. The main dining room, round and full of light, looks out over Lake Disney and the hotel gardens. Its centerpiece and signature feature is a stunning Murano crystal chandelier shaped like an upside-down pyramid, a nod both to the realm of Asgard (a wink at Thor) and to the Manhattan skyline. Tables are set with salt and pepper shakers shaped like the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. The Marvel references are kept deliberately subtle, and contemporary art takes the lead.

The menu features contemporary Italian dishes made with ingredients imported from Italy: antipasti, soups, fresh pasta, risottos, fish, and meat. The restaurant also serves breakfast. Service is at the table, by Cast Members (Disney employees). Booking ahead is strongly recommended.

What sets it apart

Crystal chandeliers that channel Asgard. Refined Italian dishes come to the table under an enormous suspended sculpture of light shaped like Thor’s city in the sky. The muted, elegant mood borrows directly from upscale Manhattan. Expect handcrafted fresh pasta, risottos, and made-to-order specialties, served with real care.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Also look at the menu before you go, so you’ll know right away whether this restaurant appeals to you and won’t waste time once you’re there.

History

The restaurant opened on June 21, 2021, along with Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel. It kept its original name, Manhattan Restaurant (in use since 1992), but was completely redone.

The classic 1930s private club decor was torn out to make way for a sleek, luxurious space. A huge, monumental Asgardian chandelier inspired by Thor now dominates the fully redesigned dining room.

My verdict

Julie
Julie ★★★★☆ 200+ visits since 2023

Manhattan Restaurant is the fine-dining Italian spot at Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, set in Art Deco New York surroundings. What sets it apart is its refined Italian cooking in an elegant room that’s ideal for couples.

I haven’t tried this restaurant yet. My take is based on my own research and on what I’ve heard from people I know and from Disney fans. Opened in 2021, it offers carefully prepared Italian food with table service for around €55 per adult and €30 per child, beneath a signature Murano glass Asgard chandelier. Feedback praises the elegance but mentions that reservations are hard to come by, the atmosphere isn’t great for young kids, and the room can get loud when it’s busy. It leans romantic.

I’d recommend it for a refined dinner as a couple or with other adults. It’s less suited to families with young children or to a quick meal.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 How can I reserve a table at one of the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

There are four ways to book. The easiest is still the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), signed in to your Disney account. You can also call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50, use the official website through the Dining menu, or book in person at City Hall, Studio Services, or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you decide, I suggest you download my free file by email, which gathers every Disneyland Paris restaurant menu in one place. It makes choosing so much easier.

02 How early can I make a Disneyland Paris restaurant reservation?

The booking window depends on where you’re staying. If you’re at a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed. That’s a real advantage for very popular restaurants like Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can reserve through the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website, or by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book the moment the window opens for character dining and for weekend evenings or French school vacation evenings, or the time slots go fast.

03 Is it still possible to get a table the same day with no reservation?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in line" depending on the seats that open up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s host stand and ask whether they have room. The app also shows time slots as they free up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it often when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never require a reservation. Tip: eating lunch at off-peak times (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of getting a table without a reservation.

04 How do you cancel a Disney restaurant reservation?

Canceling is easy in the official Disneyland Paris app. Go to "Account > My dining reservations", pick the reservation you want, and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. Cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a spot for other guests and it’s a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of people in your party directly in the app. If you need a change, you have two options: cancel and make a new reservation (if time slots are still open), or call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50.

05 When I book, can I request a high chair or a birthday cake, or say I’m using a meal plan?

Yes. When you book (app, phone, or website), you’ll find a "Special Request" field where you can make several requests. You can ask for a high chair for your baby, a birthday cake (at an extra charge), mention a food intolerance or allergy, or let them know you want to use your half-board meal plan. For the birthday cake, I suggest asking right when you book to be sure one is available. If you didn’t, you can also ask when you arrive at the restaurant, and they’ll try to work something out depending on what they have that day.
