Got a Visa card in your wallet and a Disneyland Paris trip coming up? Once you’re there, it can unlock a few small perks, free of charge. Visa has been the park’s official payment partner since January 2025. I’ll explain where this partnership comes from, what you get, which cards qualify, and how to take advantage of it without any hassle.

How the partnership began: from Mastercard to Visa

Mastercard held the Disneyland Paris payment partnership for many years before Visa came along. That arrangement wrapped up in April 2024, and since January 2025 Visa has filled the role.

Worth knowing: none of the former Mastercard benefits are valid anymore. Some articles out there still talk about a saved parade spot or a bonus hour on the VIP Tour. Those days are long gone.

For years

Mastercard, official partner

Mastercard handled payments for the park. Cardholders enjoyed priority show access, a saved spot along the parade route, and a complimentary extra hour of VIP Tour.

April 2024

The Mastercard deal ends

The partnership comes to an end, and the Mastercard perks stop working in the parks.

January 2025

Visa takes over

Visa steps in as the park’s new official payment partner, and anyone with a physical Visa card now gets a set of free perks.

Keep in mind that the Visa perks are different from the Mastercard ones. Visa offers priority access to some shows and the Shopping Service with no minimum spend. With Visa, there is no reserved parade spot and no extended VIP Tour.

The Visa perks at Disneyland Paris

The Visa card perks at Disneyland Paris come down to two things. Both are free: all you have to do is pay with your card or show it in the right place. Here are the details.

Priority access to some shows

Show your physical Visa card at the entrance of a participating show, during the stated time window, to get in through priority access. Right now, two shows at Disney Adventure World take part: Stitch Live! (the last performances of the day, arrive up to about 10 minutes before) and Mickey and the Magician at the Animagique Theater (arrive about 30 minutes before the final show). The perk covers you plus up to 3 companions, at least one of them an adult, depending on available seats. Participating shows can change and sometimes close: ask for the day’s show schedule on site before you plan your day.

Shopping Service with no minimum spend

When you pay for your purchases with a Visa card, you can use the Shopping Service with no minimum spend. The store holds your items, and you pick them up later at a shop in the Disney hotels or at Disney Village. It’s a handy way to explore without carrying bags. Without a Visa card, this service normally requires a minimum purchase amount.

To find out which shops you can collect your purchases from, see my guide to the shops. For the shows themselves, everything is here: my guide to the shows.

Which Visa cards qualify?

This part often causes confusion. The perks only apply to physical Visa cards. Digital versions and mobile payments don’t count. Here’s what works and what doesn’t.

Eligible Visa cards

  • Visa Classic
  • Visa Premier
  • Visa Platinum
  • Visa Infinite
  • Visa Gold
  • Any physical Visa card

Cards that don’t qualify

  • VPay
  • Visa Electron
  • Virtual or digital-only card
  • Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and other mobile payments

Bottom line: your physical Visa card will do the job, even a basic Visa Classic. Despite what you sometimes read, you don’t need a premium card. You do need to pull the actual card out of your pocket, though, because your phone won’t unlock these perks.

How to use the Visa perks

Nothing complicated here. No sign-up, no paperwork. Just follow these steps.

Step 1

Carry your physical Visa card

Only the plastic card unlocks the perks, so a digital copy on your phone won’t help. Tuck it in a pocket or your bag on your way out the door.

Step 2

Go to the show entrance

Head to the entrance of the participating show during the stated time window and show your card. Since the shows can change, ask for the day’s show schedule on site.

Step 3

Pay for your purchases with Visa

In the store, pay with your Visa card and ask for the Shopping Service. Your items will be held for you, then you can pick them up at a shop in the Disney hotels or at Disney Village.

Step 4

Ask at City Hall if needed

Have a question? At Disneyland Park, City Hall can help. In the 2nd park, Disney Adventure World, go to guest services. A cast member will confirm which perks are currently available.

02 What Visa perks are available at Disneyland Paris?

There are two. The first is priority access to shows: you show your card at the entrance during the time slot listed. Not for perks anymore. Mastercard was the official partner for years, but that partnership ended in April 2024. Its old perks, like reserved parade viewing or the free hour on the VIP Tour, are no longer offered. Visa took over in January 2025, with different perks.

06 Which shows does Visa priority access cover?

At the moment, two shows at Disney Adventure World: Stitch Live! and Mickey and the Magician (Animagique Theater). The lineup can change, and some shows close from time to time depending on the season. Check that day’s show schedule on site during your visit.
