Got a Visa card in your wallet and heading to Disneyland Paris? It can unlock a few small perks once you’re there, for free. Visa has been the park’s official payment partner since January 2025. I explain where this partnership comes from, what you’re entitled to, which cards qualify and how to make the most of it without any hassle.
The story of the partnership: from Mastercard to Visa
Before Visa, Mastercard was the payment partner of Disneyland Paris for many years. That partnership ended in April 2024. Visa took over in January 2025.
One important point: the old Mastercard perks no longer work at all. If you still come across articles mentioning a reserved spot for the parade or an extra hour on the VIP Tour, that’s ancient history.
Mastercard, official partner
Mastercard was the park’s payment partner. Its perks: priority access to some shows, a reserved spot for the parade and a free extra hour on the VIP Tour.
End of the Mastercard partnership
The partnership ends. Mastercard perks are no longer active in the parks.
Visa takes over
Visa becomes the new official payment partner. New free perks arrive for anyone holding a physical Visa card.
Good to know: the Visa perks aren’t the same as the Mastercard ones. Visa offers priority access to some shows and a Shopping Service with no minimum spend. There is no reserved spot for the parade and no extended VIP Tour with Visa.
Visa perks at Disneyland Paris
The Visa card perks at Disneyland Paris come down to two things. Everything is free: just pay with your card or show it in the right place. Here are the details.
Priority access to shows
Show your physical Visa card at the entrance to an eligible show, during the stated time slot, to get priority access. At the moment, two shows qualify at Disney Adventure World: Stitch Live! (the last performances, turn up no later than about 10 minutes before) and Mickey and the Magician at the Animagique Theater (turn up about 30 minutes before the last performance). The perk covers you and up to 3 companions, including at least one adult, subject to availability. The eligible shows can change and may close from time to time: ask for the day’s programme on site before you plan around it.
Shopping Service with no minimum spend
When you pay for your purchases with a Visa card, you can use the Shopping Service with no minimum spend. Your shopping is kept in the shop, then collected later from a shop in the Disney hotels or at Disney Village. Handy for exploring without carrying bags around. Without a Visa card, this service normally requires a minimum spend.
For details of the shops where you can collect your purchases, see the shops guide. For the shows themselves, everything is here: the shows guide.
Which Visa cards are eligible?
This often causes confusion. The perks only apply to physical Visa cards. Not digital versions, and not mobile payments. Here’s what works and what doesn’t.
Eligible Visa cards
- Visa Classic
- Visa Premier
- Visa Platinum
- Visa Infinite
- Visa Gold
- Any physical Visa card
Ineligible cards
- VPay
- Visa Electron
- Virtual or digital card
- Mobile payment such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet
In short: your physical Visa card will do, even a Visa Classic. Despite what you sometimes read, you don’t need a premium card. But you do need to take the actual card out of your pocket, as your phone isn’t enough for these perks.
How to use the Visa perks
Nothing complicated. No sign-up, no paperwork. Here are the steps.
Keep your physical Visa card on you
The card itself unlocks the perks, not a version on your phone. Slip it into your pocket or bag before you leave.
Go to the show entrance
Head for the entrance to the eligible show during the stated time slot and show your card. As the shows can change, ask for the day’s programme on site.
Pay for your shopping with your Visa
In the shop, pay with your Visa card and ask for the Shopping Service. Your purchases will be kept, ready to collect from a shop in the Disney hotels or at Disney Village.
Ask at City Hall if needed
Got a question? In Disneyland Park, City Hall can help. In the second park, Disney Adventure World, go to guest services. A member of staff will confirm the current perks.
