The Disneyland Paris food festivals are limited-time events held twice a year: a summer edition, Le Rendez-vous Gourmand, and a winter edition tied to the Christmas season, L’Hiver Gourmand. Each time, chalets serving specialties are set up in the park for several weeks, then removed once the edition wraps up. You buy food and drinks item by item, both sweet and savory.
The theme varies from one edition to another: sometimes a tour of world cuisines, sometimes specialties from France and its different regions. The location has also moved over the years. These days, the chalets line the shore of the Adventure Bay lake, along Adventure Way, in Disney Adventure World, formerly Walt Disney Studios Park. Before that, they were set up in Fantasyland (Disneyland Park) and in the Ratatouille area.
Since everything shifts with each edition, I recommend checking the dates, theme, and location of the current one before you go.
What are the Disneyland Paris food festivals?
Here’s how it works. For a set period, Disneyland Paris puts up a row of small wooden chalets. Each one offers a selection of food and drinks inspired by a region or a country. You stroll from one to the next, order whatever catches your eye, and pay per item, just like at a food market.
None of them is a permanent restaurant. They pop up when an edition starts and vanish when it ends. You get two editions a year, a summer one and a winter one timed with Christmas.
The theme is never set in stone. Some editions spotlight world cuisine, others French and regional specialties (Alsace, Savoy, Brittany, etc.). That’s exactly what makes it worth coming back: what the chalets serve keeps changing.
When do they take place? The two editions
There are two food events during the year. They don’t run on the same dates and don’t have quite the same feel. Here’s how to tell them apart.
Le Rendez-vous Gourmand (summer)?
Le Rendez-vous Gourmand is the summer edition. It usually runs through a good part of the warm season, from spring into fall depending on the year. It’s the longer of the two.
The vibe is that of a summer patio: you enjoy the chalets during the day, often with cold drinks and seasonal desserts. The exact dates change with every edition, so check this year’s calendar before planning your visit.
L’Hiver Gourmand (Christmas)
L’Hiver Gourmand is the winter edition, timed around Christmas and New Year’s. It usually starts in the fall and carries on into the beginning of the following year.
The food is more comforting: hot dishes, seasonal specialties, and warm drinks go along with the holiday season. It’s the edition to choose if you’re coming to see Disneyland Paris dressed up for Christmas. Here too, the exact dates vary from year to year.

Where are they held?
People mix this up a lot, since the chalets have moved more than once.
For the current summer edition, the festive food chalets are split between two areas: along Adventure Way, by the Adventure Bay lake (Disney Adventure World), and in Fantasyland, in front of it’s a small world (Disneyland Park). The location moves from one edition to the next (L’Hiver Gourmand, tied to Christmas, may be set up somewhere else).
In the past, they also took over the Ratatouille area. So depending on the edition, the chalets are spread across one or more areas, sometimes in both parks at once.
Since the setup keeps changing with each edition, the safest bet is to check the exact location when you visit, either in the official show schedule or on the park map at the entrance.
What you’ll eat there
Every chalet has its own specialty. You’ll find both savory and sweet options.
On the savory side, expect regional dishes that follow the edition’s theme: specialties from Alsace, Savoy, or Brittany, and dishes from around the world when the edition leans toward international food. On the sweet side, there are seasonal desserts, waffles, crêpes, pastries, and other treats. Drinks follow the season: cold in summer, hot in winter.
The lineup changes with every edition, depending on the theme. That’s also what makes the event fun to rediscover.
Good to know: these chalets are temporary. For the treats and snacks you can find in the parks year-round, outside the festivals, see my dedicated guides (sweet snacks and savory snacks).
My tips
- Look up this year’s edition: the dates, the theme, and where it’s held are different each time. Have a look at Disney’s official program before your trip.
- Go with the theme: if world food or a specific region tempts you, this is your window to taste dishes that aren’t sold during the rest of the year.
- Keep in mind you pay per item: you order chalet by chalet, dish by dish. That makes it easy to share and to sample several things as a group.
- Annual pass discounts don’t apply at the chalets: don’t factor them into your budget.
- Avoid peak times: the row of chalets fills up mostly around mealtimes. Stop by a little before or after to keep your wait short.
