Here’s my ranking of the best restaurants at Disneyland Paris, sorted by category so you can choose based on what you feel like that day. These are my personal recommendations, the places I love most after dozens of trips and hundreds of meals in the parks and hotels.

My all-time favorite: Walt’s, an American Restaurant

Where? Upstairs on Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland Park. It’s a table-service restaurant with a menu inspired by Walt Disney (carefully prepared American food).

Without a second thought, it’s my favorite. What wins me over is the cozy, understated Victorian decor, the history of the place (it pays tribute to Walt Disney, with portraits and mementos), and the six upstairs dining rooms, each one decorated after a land of the park: Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Discoveryland.

When possible, request a table by an upstairs window: from there, you look right down on Main Street and the parade. Everyone wants those tables, so I suggest making a reservation.

Best all-you-can-eat buffet: Chuck Wagon Café

Where? Inside the main building of Disney Hotel Cheyenne. You pay one price and help yourself to American barbecue and Tex-Mex dishes as often as you like.

This is my favorite buffet. I love how fully it commits to the Western theme (saloon and ranch decor, horseshoes, food served from a covered wagon), and the dishes are hearty.

The cornbread is my little treat every time I go. On the menu: smoked ribs, roast chicken, sausages, chili, corn on the cob, and a big dessert spread too. It’s a great fit for families and big appetites.

Best character dining: Le Royal Banquet

Where? Inside the Disneyland Hotel, whose doors opened again in early 2024. Characters join you during this unlimited buffet.

For a character meal, this is where I go. What I love is that you meet Mickey and Minnie (plus other characters depending on the meal) in royal outfits as they move from table to table. The room is elegant and refined without feeling stiff, with a regal decor.

The buffet itself is generous and upscale (seafood, grilled meats, and a cheese and dessert spread I find gorgeous). Tables are in high demand, so book as early as you can.

Best for a special occasion: The Regal View Restaurant

Where? Over in Disney Adventure World, along Adventure Way, the park’s newest area. Servers bring your dinner to the table while Disney princesses stop by to say hello.

For a special occasion, it’s a great pick. I like the table service, the characters (several Disney princesses go from table to table, some in outfits you’ll only see at Disneyland Paris), and the elegant setting, designed like a royal residence. The dining room overlooks the lake, and in the evening you can watch the water shows right from your seat.

The menu comes as a multi-course meal, and there’s also a character breakfast option.

Best quick bite: Cowboy Cookout Barbecue

Where? In Frontierland, in Disneyland Park, inside a big barn near the train station. It’s quick-service, ordered at the counter.

When I want to eat fast and well, this is my spot. I love the beef burger and the barbecue pork ribs, which to me are among the best quick-service dishes in the park.

The Western barn decor is really well done, and some days a country band plays next to the fireplace. You get big servings, and because this counter ranks among the largest in the park, you won’t stand in line for long.

Best value: Toad Hall Restaurant

Where? In Fantasyland, in Disneyland Park, in an English manor house behind Peter Pan’s Flight. It’s quick-service, ordered at the counter.

On a budget, this is the best value in the park for me. What I like is a full meal at a great price, with a signature fish and chips (crispy battered fish, thick-cut fries) among the cheapest meal deals in the park.

The decor, themed to The Wind in the Willows and Mr. Toad, is detailed and full of English bric-a-brac. And since it’s quick-service, there’s no need to book.

Best at Disney Village: The Steakhouse

Where? At Disney Village. It’s a table-service restaurant that specializes in meat and grilled dishes.

In the Village, it’s my favorite place to sit down and eat. I love the quality of the meat (rib steak, beef cuts, barbecue ribs) and the classy brasserie setting, styled like a 1930s New York warehouse with very high ceilings. It’s ideal for a relaxed dinner. For more ideas in the Village, see where to eat at Disney Village.

Best themed restaurant: Bistrot Chez Rémy

Where? Over in Disney Adventure World, in Worlds of Pixar, right where you step off the Ratatouille ride. Servers bring Parisian bistro cooking to your table.

What I love here is the theming, the most polished in the resort in my opinion. The whole room is built to the scale of the rats from the movie: oversized cutlery, giant champagne corks hanging from the ceiling, chairs made from tin cans, and a direct view of the ride’s exit. You eat as if you were Remy’s size. For a meal where the setting matters as much as the plate, it’s my favorite themed restaurant in the resort. Be sure to book, especially for lunch.

How do you book a restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

Table-service restaurants (Walt’s, The Regal View, The Steakhouse) and character buffets (Le Royal Banquet) need a reservation, sometimes several weeks before your trip. Quick-service spots (Cowboy Cookout, Toad Hall) are first come, first served, with no booking. I walk you through the steps in my guide on how to book a restaurant.

Frequently asked questions

01 What’s the best restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

Hands down, my favorite is Walt’s, an American Restaurant, on Main Street at Disneyland Park, one floor up. The decor wins me over, along with the nod to Walt Disney and the parade view you get from upstairs.

02 What’s the best all-you-can-eat buffet at Disneyland Paris?

I pick Chuck Wagon Café at the Disney Hotel Cheyenne. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet of American food, with a Western setting I adore and really good cornbread.

03 What’s the best character restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

If meeting characters is the goal, my pick is Royal Banquet at the Disneyland Hotel. Mickey stops by every table in his royal outfit while you enjoy a generous buffet.

04 What’s the best restaurant at Disney Village?

At Disney Village, my favorite restaurant is The Steakhouse, for the quality of its meat and its upscale brasserie setting styled like a New York warehouse.

05 Where should I eat to celebrate something special?

When I’m celebrating, I go for The Regal View Restaurant at Disney Adventure World. I love the table service, the princesses stopping by, and the lake view, which turns into a front-row seat for the water shows after dark.

06 What’s the cheapest full meal in the park?

My go-to is Toad Hall in Fantasyland, with its fish and chips: a complete dish (protein and fries) at the lowest price in Disneyland Park, not just a snack. It’s the first place I head for a real meal on a budget.

07 What’s the difference between counter service, all-you-can-eat buffets, and table service?

There are three options. At a quick-service restaurant, you order and pay at a counter, then find a seat: it’s the fastest and cheapest choice, with no reservation needed. At an all-you-can-eat buffet, you pay a set price and help yourself: handy for families and for different appetites. At a table-service restaurant, a server takes your order and brings your plated meal: more relaxed and more expensive, and you should book ahead. For a first visit, counter service is enough for lunch, and a buffet or table-service meal makes a nice dinner.
