At a glance

You’ll find Ribbons and Bows Hat Shop on a corner right as you enter Disneyland Park, on the right side of Town Square and facing Discovery Arcade. The date 1895 is displayed on the building: that’s when Walt’s father, Elias Disney, first went into business as an entrepreneur in the American Midwest.

Since 2022, the space has worked as a concept store: several themed areas display Disney ears, Loungefly bags, clothing, and fashion accessories, with a section devoted to Pandora, an official partner of Disneyland Paris, and its Disney, Marvel, and Pixar collections. Disney PhotoPass+ is also offered on site.

The architecture and decor follow the land’s Victorian style. The upper floor is worth a look: its painted windows pay tribute to the park’s designers and executives. One of them is the fictional dental office of "Dr. Bitz" (the initials "E.S. Bitz" match those of Eddie Sotto, Main Street’s art director), with the motto "Our Business Is To Make You Smile," and patients’ screams sometimes drift out of it. That window lists the names of the park’s five art directors at its 1992 opening: Jeff Burke (Frontierland), Tim Delaney (Discoveryland), Tom Morris (Fantasyland), Eddie Sotto (Main Street U.S.A.), and Chris Tietz (Adventureland). Other windows honor Bob Fitzpatrick, the first president of Disneyland Paris, shown as a tailor ("A fit for every occasion"), longtime human resources managers, and even a sleepwalkers’ club with an owl logo.

What sets it apart

Several brands under one roof, plus a Pandora corner. This corner shop started out in 1992 as a classic hat shop. In 2022 it was reinvented as a concept store gathering several worlds: Disney ears, Loungefly bags, fashion accessories, and an official Pandora corner featuring exclusive Disney, Marvel, and Pixar pieces. The date on the building, 1895, marks the year Elias Disney launched his first business ventures.

History

It opened on April 12, 1992, as a hat shop, and its purpose has shifted several times since. It also went by the names Bixby Brothers and later Bixby Babies (baby goods), became a hat shop again (hats, beanies, caps, headbands), expanded in spring 2016 to Christmas decorations sold all year long, then became a multi-world concept store in 2022, when the Pandora corner arrived and the Christmas items were dropped. The upstairs windows keep getting new additions: Yves Ben Yeta (Imagineering Disneyland Paris) was added in 2021 when he retired, followed in 2023 and 2024 by Daniel Delcourt (Operations) and Sylvie Massara (hotel Imagineering).

Best time to go

Go at park opening or mid-afternoon, when the parade isn’t passing by. And look up at the upstairs windows too.

Your questions about this shop

01 Where can you buy Disney merchandise at Disneyland Paris?

There are four main places to shop: Disneyland Park (Main Street U.S.A. above all, plus every land), Disney Adventure World, Disney Village (open to everyone, no park ticket required), and, if you book an official Disney hotel, the shop inside your hotel. My dedicated article walks you through the main shops.

02 Is there a way to shop without lugging bags around all day?

Yes. The Shopping Service lets you have your purchases sent to a pickup point, so you can collect them later at the same shop, at another shop on your way out of the park, or even at your Disney hotel’s shop. The service is free in most shops (with a minimum purchase). Just ask the cast member at checkout.

03 What are the shop hours?

Shops inside the parks roughly follow park hours, often opening a little earlier on Main Street U.S.A. and closing a little later after the nighttime show. Disney Village shops have their own hours, usually running later into the evening. You’ll find the exact hours in the Disneyland Paris app.

04 Can you buy Disneyland Paris merchandise online?

There’s no official Disneyland Paris online store. To shop from home, you can use the Disney Store website (formerly shopDisney), which sells official Disney merchandise and sometimes a few items specific to Disneyland Paris. At the resort itself, you buy everything directly in the shops.
