Everything that’s included in your ticket
Once you’re through the gates, most of your day is covered by your ticket. You don’t pay anything more to enjoy the rides, the shows, and the characters. Here’s what’s covered, by topic.
Every ride
The rides in both parks are open to you at no extra cost, through the standby line. You can ride them again as many times as you like during the day.
Shows and parades
All the daytime shows, the parades, and the nighttime shows, Disney Tales of Magic and Disney Cascade of Lights (one in each park), are included. You can watch them freely, as long as there’s room.
Character meet and greets
Meeting and taking photos with the Disney characters is included. Only character dining costs extra.
Restaurants and shops
You can walk into any restaurant or shop in the parks. You can even book a table ahead of time. You only pay for what you eat or buy.
Disney Village and hotels
Disney Village (shops, restaurants, movie theater) is open to everyone, even without a ticket. Most Disney hotels also let you into their lobbies and shops. Only the Disneyland Hotel is limited to its guests or to a confirmed reservation (restaurant, spa).

What’s not included (and where to learn more)
A few services come up again and again in first-time visitors’ questions. They aren’t covered by the ticket. Here they are, and where to read the details.
- Visitor parking Expect about €30/day for a car. It’s only free for Disney hotel guests and annual passholders. It’s all explained in my parking guide.
- Disney Premier Access skip-the-line passes The old free FastPasses no longer exist. Skip-the-line access is paid, from €5 per ride. To figure out when it’s worth it, see my guide to lines and wait times.
- Disney PhotoPass photos Shots from Disney’s official photographers and the on-ride photos aren’t free. Unlimited downloads run about €90.
- Guaranteed seating for shows and parades You can watch every show with a regular ticket. Want a reserved spot close to the stage? That’s an extra you pay for and book through the app.
- Hotel pools, spas, and saunas These facilities are only for guests staying at that hotel. A park ticket doesn’t give you access. See the hotels in my hotel comparison.
- Meals No meals come with a day ticket. To plan for this expense, check my price guide, and to pay with meal vouchers, see my guide to French meal vouchers (tickets restaurant).

Ticket, MagicPass, or Disneyland Pass: what’s the difference?
The names of these three passes sound alike, yet each one comes with different rights. Here’s how to keep them straight and see what’s covered by each.
Day ticket
For visitors who aren’t staying at a Disney hotel. Valid for 1 to 4 days depending on the type. It gets you into the parks and covers the rides, shows, and characters. No parking and no early entry. That’s what this page is about. To pick the right one, see my ticket comparison.
MagicPass (hotel stay)
Given free to every Disney hotel guest at check-in, for the whole length of the stay. You can’t buy it on its own. It works as your room key and gets you free Disney parking. It also unlocks early entry (Extra Magic Time) and meal plans if you booked one.
Disneyland Pass (annual)
A paid year-long pass, with several tiers. It has nothing to do with the MagicPass you get with a hotel stay. It’s aimed at regular visitors and includes free parking. Everything is explained in my Disneyland Pass guide.

Frequently asked questions
01 Does FastPass still exist? Is skip-the-line access included in the ticket?
No, the old free FastPass system is gone. In its place is Disney Premier Access, a paid add-on starting at €5 per ride, bought on top of your ticket. To see when it’s actually worth paying for, check my Premier Access guide.
02 Does the ticket include PhotoPass photos?
No. Photos taken by official photographers and on rides cost extra. The Disney PhotoPass option, which lets you download all of them, costs around €90.
03 Ticket vs. Disneyland pass: how do they differ?
A ticket is for visitors who aren’t staying at a Disney hotel, for 1 to 4 days. The MagicPass is handed out free to Disney hotel guests for the length of their stay. The Disneyland Pass, meanwhile, is a paid, year-round annual pass, covered in detail in the Disneyland Pass guide.
04 How many days of admission does a ticket give you?
Anywhere from 1 to 4 days, depending on which ticket you buy. 1-day tickets come in 1-park or 2-park versions, and anything from 2 days up includes both parks. To compare them, see the ticket comparison.
05 Can you reserve a restaurant table with a ticket?
Yes, at no extra cost. Table-service restaurants can be booked up to two months ahead of your visit, on the official website, in the app, or by phone. The only thing you pay for is the meal.
06 Is Premier Access worth it for a first visit?
It depends on the day. Premier Access costs extra on top of your ticket, from €5 per ride and per use, and the price climbs on busy days. On crowded days (French school vacations, weekends, Halloween and Christmas seasons) and on the big rides where the wait often tops an hour, it’s worth it for one or two high-demand rides. On a quiet day, you don’t need it: if you arrive at opening and follow a logical touring order, you’ll wait very little without paying anything. You buy it in the official app, on the day itself for the One. The Ultimate can also be bought ahead of time. All the details are in my Premier Access guide.
07 Are shows and character meet and greets included in the ticket?
Yes. Parades, shows, and most character meet and greets are included in your admission, at no extra cost. Only some meet and greets built around a meal (character dinners and breakfasts) cost extra, because you’re paying for the meal itself.
